Rapkun 668
My only concern about this deal is selling to Everton, didn't Wolsburg bid for him too? Sturridge to pool, Mata to United and now this..
lucio 5,418
We absolutely have to. And I can't imagine after a season which Mourinho complained about strikers he wouldn't go after another.mourinho says drogba is "one of the best in europe" though. if he truly believes that, its farcical. LemmeBorrowThat 124
I'm upset that he's gone but if he feels he needs to be at another club than I won't hold it against it at all. I wish him success, he puts the cart in front of the horse at times but I think he just wants a chance to prove himself and IMO so far he has. Popular Post! The only place to be 11,313 Posted July 30, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 30, 2014 Dee, this is Chelsea FC. We always find a way to fuck something perfectly good up and look like absolute clowns, so don't be surprised if we bring in nobody. Ridiculous hyperbole. ParNolio7 285
Good luck, Romelu! Finally off to a club where you're appreciated. Still hate to see you go though. Hope you prove everyone wrong here and put five or six past us coming season (we'll try to score one more than ;-)) !About the price: £ 28 Mio seems about right for a 21-year-old who scored 32 goals over two seasons in the PL. Good deal for Everton, good deal for Lukaku and good deal for Chelsea where fans and manager didn't like him.Was about time the Lukaku topic was closed here Stats

Popular Post! ChelseaFC12 134 Posted July 30, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 30, 2014 Lukaku was bought to replace Drogba. He was called 'The New Drogba'. Drogba was bought to replace Lukaku. There's only one Drogba. Polo7, FabHazard, bababoom and 12 others

Stingray 9,441
I'm fine with the deal as long as we bring in a viable, different type of 2nd choice striker. A pure technical CF would be very nice. That would be ideal .... But who though ...?
Popular Post! Madmax 9,219 Posted July 30, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted July 30, 2014 Not counting club-trained players, at that price he's our :- 3rd highest sale in the Abramovich era- 2nd most profitable sale in the Abramovich era- 2nd highest in terms of return on investment Clearly, exceptional business in monetary terms. ParNolio7 285
Don't worry, Mourinho will bring in a new striker for sure. I'm betting on Ronaldo (the old one), fits the Mourinho striker profile perfectly in terms of age and fitness!

sherry33 234
Lukaku : 32 goals in 66 EPL games.Torres : 21 goals in 110 EPL games. All of a sudden, we don't look as strong as we should be anymore. It's as you were for us. If Costa gets injured or struggles for form initially, we're fucked. If we don't bring in a replacement for Lukaku, we're fucked. Say what you want about the player's attitude but this is poor mismanagement by the club. This could potentially turn out to be much worse than the Sturridge deal. Give it a rest already if Costa does get injured and Lukaku will be our main striker we are fucked and you know that.

Lukaku will be a much happier person now he's realised what level he's capable of playing at. His poor performances at the World Cup probably made him recognise that he's simply not a Champions League calibre player so he's gone somewhere we he won't have to gain try and fail. bababoom and TheIceMan
