Styles 9,790
Very good debut. He's a solid athlete, very mobile and quick over the first few yards. His performance is further proof that we do have capable young players at the club.Great game, could (maybe should) have scored his first goal in first half with the header. That really would have been like Ivanovic scoring 2 goals against Liverpool in the Champions League. darrus and Strike
Special Juan 28,141
Be great when he gets older and tells his grandkids he made is debut at Anfield, we won 2-0, I stopped Suarez scoring and possibly stopped them winning the league. ZanSnake 1,211
If we buy a left-back then he's probably still fourth-choice at best next season and that's assuming we sell Luiz. What this performance gives us is options - it puts him in the store window for a Premier League loan next season but it also means we can take it a bit slower with Zouma....and that's assuming Omeruo goes out on loan again which is massively dependent on what type of World Cup he has.Oh, and there's also Ake and Christensen. Terry is gonna retire inthe next two seasons, Ake could bemore of a DMC (think he played there under Rafa?) and is Christensen anygood? nyikolajevics 2,700
is Christensen anygood? It's hard to tell.. He is outstanding in U21, but so were Kakuta, Sinclair, Di Santo or Sahar. There is a huge step between youth and first team football, several sparkling talents have failed to take it. Christensen is very promising, but it's next to impossible for a 18 year old CB to break into the first team. I think he should go on loan to show his talent. We have so many defensive options for the future it's shocking!Kalas does have an edge by having his good composure and pace to play at right-back also, but i think that some of the players we will let go as youth 'MIGHT' comeback and bite us. They were recalling various clubs and Mourinho told me, "See, you will have Liverpool for your debut".'I believe that we then put the theory of centre-backs needing a lot of time to get used to one another upside down.'Hopefully people couldn't tell that it was my first game. Naturally, I learned where I need to improve and I what I have to work on, but overall I had a good feeling.' darrus and Viper22

ZanSnake 1,211
Anyone else think that maybe he wasn't looked in earlier in the season was maybe Jose told him to work on a specific part of his game?I mean, i see Jose as a perfectionist with what he wants a player to become like, and what will improve him as a player for the team he is building - one prime example being Shurrle, who was out for months without a game and when he did start to play, he was like another player and started scoring goals (and some very important ones!). Maybe he thought Kalas needed to spend some time training with the first eleven and a better class team, against Vitesse and the Reserves, etc., to harden him mentally. Dave-Iva-Cahill-Ash looks nice and they are more experienced. But good to know that Kalas is on the bench. We have two more matches left in the PL, I think he's gonna play at least one of them, especially if we make it to the CL-final. bushman 2,043
Kalas should be able to play with the team next season. This kid is good enough to succeed & should be involved in all cup games, I feel.
The only place to be 11,313
Don't want to burst a bubble or anything but didn't he seem pretty adamant he was going to leave earlier in the season?Think he was just frustrated. It's funny how much one appearance in a big game can change the situation and if we do end up selling Luiz then he's definitely got a shot at the fourth CB spot. Think it might come down to him and Zouma competing for it in pre-season.
Magic Lamps 11,692
should have featured for us much higher, given that we often had to play iva or luiz at cb hence changing the backline completely, when he just could have come in. People say it is easy for a CB when his team defends with 10 men behind the ball, still he was on his own a few times. I have seldom seen such an athletic defender. He could easily be a decathlete. Not only his leap, but when Stirling ran at him, he had about 1 or 2 yards on Kalas, still Tomas was able to recover at to get first to the ball. Let alone Marvel Wynne, Kalas is one of the fastest CBs I have ever seen.
Popular Post! Milan 17,957 Posted May 11, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted May 11, 2014 A month ago Tomas was invited to take part in the most famous and popular Czech talk show with the best Czech comedian, which took place in London. They were mainly talking about the fact that Kalas was not playing at all. Here is a couple of things he mentioned and talked about -he does not fully understand why he was sitting in the stands or on the bench in the season. He hoped to go on loan in January but instead he is training with the first team, which is only a good thing for him. Jokes that he is the player everyone is looking at when needed or required something there, something there heh.Chelsea does not have a lot of defenders but the truth is that Chelsea has extremely quality defendershe wanted to go on loan, there were offers but the club rejected every single one as he was labeled as an important member of the squad - then joking that it must be true because every team needs players for the bench, but he is getting closer and closer to the pitch as before he was only in the standsat the start of the season, he was promised 20 games and started joking that he might not make it now. Unfortunately for him, he broke his leg while trying not to concede a goal. And it was not a goal!He might be training and not playing until the end of the contract, in 2017. He might write a book while sitting on the bench lol, as suggested by the comedian. The last time he played was 28 seconds against Gala, he did not even touch the ball. Was asked how is it possible that only 28 sec, replied that he was supposed to waste time. Even warming up was more difficult than playing lol. Said that 1 minute against Arsenal was a better experience Said that something will most probably be done at the end of the season. The loan in Holland was great, now he is hoping for a loan in Germany. Jokes that because he is not playing now, he might need to send dvd of his games in Holland to convince other teams Said that in the league games he is 19th of the 20 men squad, and in the CL games he is 17th of the 18 men squad. The one behind him is a younger lad, fully enjoying his time there.Said that it is up to the young players in question whether they can accept the role - spending time training at a top team like Chelsea or playing in a weaker side. He was very happy to sign for Chelsea as he believed it would help his progress. He was asked about the possible move but Kalas interrupted him and was adamant that it must work out for him at Chelsea. Then he was asked who is the best player at Chelsea now. He replied that Gary Cahill amongst the defenders and Eden Hazard overall. Kalas said that you cannot beat Eden, simply cannot, he is from a different planet.About the 28 seconds on field, the comedian suggested that even him could do the job as they do not need a football player for stuff like this. Kalas responded to this while laughing that maybe, maybe the club does not consider him as a football player He was asked about a possible return to the Czech league and his response was - if, then at the very latest of his career no wonder lolAgain, it happened a month ago, meaning before the Liverpool game. You can watch it here. Those who speak and understand Czech http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Ar6Tdr4LPoPetr Cech was also invited, a week before Kalas. I will write the summary later. drog.ba, Belgiannutt, Styles and 6 others
