Wow.. really shocked about this, hopefully its a ploy to get an improved contract or assurances that he will be our #1.

There might be a possibility he wants to leave. He's young and wants to play every week (like he has been) and with Cech still going strong for us, Courtois might not want to wait so long. And when a club like Barcelona come calling, not many players would say no.

If this guy is the real deal, then he could conceivably be the answer in goal for us for the next 10-12 years. How many years does Cech have left? How much would we get for him in the market?

Personally, I'd rather not sell this guy when he has so much potential.

I would much rather keep him and give him private assurances that he will be back at chelsea the season after next to challenge Petr.

Plus get him tied down to a new contract after just incase!

Problem is Cech is arguably the world's best right now and is only 30. He has at least another 5 years and that is being conservative. This is a tough one to work out and to be honest I wouldn't want to be the one making the decision.

But it's so hard to just discard a legend like Cech who is nowhere near the end. If this was an outfield player it makes far more sense but goalkeepers usually peak in their late 30's. Cech is relatively young for a goalkeeper. If he left today he would walk into any club he wanted.

In the Roman era Drogba and Cech have been by far my two favourite players. Even though Drogba left on a massive high it was really sad when he left. Cech leaving will be just as sad.

It's statistically unlikely. There's no easy answer to this dilemma.
