  1. Oh dear. Rooney would be another 'business buy' like with Torres, 'Pride Of England™', even if he flopped.. we'd still make a killing commerically. Which leads me to believe that yes Mata was offered, for the number 10 shirt.
  2. Mourinho is the best thing that ever happened to this football club, it must be a really shitty existence being a Chelsea fan and hating him.. Sort of like being a fan of pizza but lactose intolerant.
  3. I'd rather re-sign Kalou, and give Benayoun a coaching role.
  4. You look at clubs like Spurs, Liverpool, and even Barca & Real and you can pinpoint one player who is bigger and more important than the manager. Feels good to have coach bigger than our entire squad, respect isn't 'given' it's intrinsic.
  5. What number do you think he'll get.. 15, 16, 19, 22...
  6. Well.. he's in a relatively risk free position. In regards to how he affects the game, as he settles and adapts to our play.
  7. Pellegrini's office looks like a bedroom lmao.. how small-time is that.
  8. My Ajax supporting contact doesn't rate him at all, any eredivisie connoisseurs here? On youtube.. Kakuta is better than Zidane.
  9. Hopefully the scouts know what they're doing, because you'd have to pay me to watch the dutch league too.. Monaco signed João-fucking-Moutinho.
  10. My top 5 Roman moments: 1. Re-appointing Jose (swallowed his pride) 2. His promised post-mortem investments 3. World Class Infrastructure / academy investment (Cobham etc). 4. Appointing Jose 5. 2012 squad replenishments (Hazard, Oscar, Azpi)
  11. Should provide decent strength in depth even if he isn't a regular, since Marin has no future here. Although £18m seems a bit steep, considering we had literally no competition for his signature.
  12. And?, Kevin 'had' 14.. Not only did he wear it, but they were actually selling it in the megastore lmao. I wonder how many they sold..
  13. Lmao, rattled. Your post couldn't be more redundant, because I WAS applying it to those fans, and that you needed a sense of perspective to look at it from that point of view. What Mourinho brings to the table transcends results and style of play.
  14. Casillas is a spaniard with an ego Sergio Ramos is a spaniard with an ego Torres is a spaniard with an ego..
  15. Jose-fucking-Mourinho winning a game 1-0 is very different to any other manager in world football winning a game 1-0 with 'this' football club. Get a sense of perspective.
  16. Kakuta's contract runs out in 2015, how mad is that.. Hopefully tying 'raw talent' to mega long term deals will be a thing of the past now.
  17. Lukaku with Torres & Ba on the bench will do.. until January, where we can panic reassess from there.
  18. You don't have to be a psychologist to grasp the idea of Mourinho showing restraint and diplomacy, after knocking out a retiring manager in the CL at Old Trafford. News of which was revealed to him by Ferguson himself. United fans were kidding themselves..
  19. What do you expect him to say about Torres though, "he's shit, I've asked Roman to sell him." This conference should have been all about Mourinho, and it was. Verdict.. he's happy.
  20. Is Malouda still 'technically' at the club? Watch him embarrass himself and brown nose Mourinho, "I will take pay cut if you get me a new contract daddy"..
  21. Regardless, if a manager is in place.. a more hands on approach can be had in transfer dealings. If we sign someone now we know Mourinho would have had influence over that decision. Barcelona are run in the same way as City, but unlike the Manchester club they have an actual youth policy and a culture at the club of bringing through home-grown players. Thus the coaching staff/managers (also products of their system) know them 'inside out'.
  22. City are signing players left right and centre without an actual manager in charge.. For once, I'm pleased we haven't done the same.
  23. Chelsea splashed the cash on youngsters like Oscar, Hazard and even Azpilicueta for the long term. City have splurged a shit load on a 27 year old and a 28 year old, for the 'now' to win trophies short-term.
  24. City, PSG and now Monaco have all copied our blueprint for on-field & commercial success, the later pioneered by Kenyon at United. The sheikhs are not doing anything 'extraordinarily' different from what we've already done in that aspect. I'd rather have Roman at the helm, and it's 'because' he isn't looking for a return, he's a football fan, it’s his legacy, Roman loves the club, which lasts longer than economic motives. If the City 'project' eventually dwindles will it matter for the UAE?, they have fingers in multiple pies, the MLS and PSG etc.
