Oscar is first choice CAM, Mourinho has said (direct quotes) that Mata will be an RW. Thus, Mata will be competing with 'natural' wingers, which will not end well for him.
-
Mourinho (and the club) understand the admiration for Mata amongst the fans, hence why he won't be sold THIS season. Jose needs/'and may want' to prove we can win without him. Or at least prove the team is better without him first, before alarming squad harmony. If we win a title or even a few cups and a very convincing title challenge, and Mata wasn't that instrumental.. there at least won't be any "if's or but's". His transfer value won't go down either, because it will just be a case of 'he didn't fit into OUR system'.
-
Notice how on Fifa 13 we have messed up player profile pics, Hazard is wearing a red coat!, ffs. Yet United's are all perfectly matching. Wish we still had a partnership with EA, this is why Kenyon was miles ahead of Gourlay.
-
In regards to the homegrown quota, Blackman may need to be our 3rd choice keeper, easy life for Hilario, hope he donates to charity or something.
-
This must be a monumental blow for KDB, monumental.. Oscar & Mata ahead of him at CAM, and now a £30m(?) man 'in his prime' plus the rest.. all ahead of him on the wings (minus Moses, who's off anyway). I bet he's now thinking about that interest from Dortmund earlier in the summer..
-
Mata has already been replaced, Mourinho said he wants him to play RW (direct quote).
-
We already have his replacement.
-
The whole Mata situation is a mind-fuckery tbh, despite the hard hitting reality/predicament. Still a big fan..

Rooney is only a cunt off the pitch, and still not as bad as John Terry. Suarez (for example) is a cunt ON the pitch, which is far worse and actually relevant. There is nothing souless about this 'rumoured' decision. It's based on pretty sound logic, if Oscar IS to be 'Numero Uno' as our CAM. Mata residing on the bench in pre-season has nothing to do with it, it's about the type of player he is (Styles 'famously' addressed the issue last season), and how he'd fit with our current set up. For the record, I don't think we should sell him to a direct rival.
-
Context is everything, it was from the same interview. He called Mourinho THE best coach in the world, and you tried to act like Hazard merely echoed his status at the club, smh.
-
No, it wasn't. "Mourinho is the best coach in the world." Source: L'Equipe (direct quotes)

I was and still am a big fan of Mata, but the more I think about it.. the more it's based on sentiment for the previous seasons, in which he was all we had. Literally, the only player who could dictate play and the guy we'd all look to.. Now we have options, Mata isn't a big fish in a small pond anymore.
-
Mourinho is the biggest 'star' Chelsea football club have ever had. He is one of the most marketable men in football history and he's not even a player!, Roman had to swallow his pride in order to bring him back. Things would have to go very wrong indeed for him to even think about it. Yes, Juan Mata has been our 'stand out' acquisition.. in the worst era of Roman's reign. Minus an incredible european run, in which Mata was not instrumental. We are looking to seriously compete for the title and begin an era of dominance. If Mourinho sees Oscar as the superior option in that position, we have to back him.
-
Isn't Willian supposed to be a winger 'primarily'?, Oscar is clearly going to be our CAM. It's been long established that Mata shouldn't be playing on the wings, he doesn't have the pace and won't track back etc etc.
-
Essien, lmao Van Ginkel is a prospect (pre-season has never told us anything) Lampard (regardless of the first 2 games) won't be playing week in week out, and shouldn't be. Mikel is just squad bulk now, he'll be thrown into the mix when we need to control a game, 70th minute mark. He will ask to leave next season.. 1. Ramires We have no strikers, only a prospect, a flop and a guy who isn't good enough for this level.
-
Logic has been voided it seems. Weak pivot, no strikers.. Hmmm, let's sign a left winger!
-
Oscar is the better option as our CAM under Mourinho, Mata is pretty ineffective out wide too, which raises concerns. Sentimentality aside, we should want what's best for the side. Long season ahead, so we'll see how things unfold. Still though.. Styles prophesied it.

^ Was Torres trying to send a message to all his 'fangirls' on tumblr and whoever buys his shirts yesterday?. He's good friends with Sergio Ramos, I wonder if he's been giving out any tips on how to 'deal' with Jose. Although lmao at any player who even dares to undermine Mourinho at this club, especially now.

Money bags Monaco leading 3-1, Montepellier had a man sent off. (69mins). Oh, and Falcao scored one of them, obviously.

Wish I was there today, that match programme will be a collectors item. Hopefully they will print more for the megastore, as it will keep going out of stock.
-
It should be done ahead of time, United (from what we know via media) say he's staying and that message has been pretty clear, 'reports now claim' Rooney has accepted their decision. There is no formal transfer request!, which is bizarre considering how long the speculation has been going on. Why leave it so late, United won't be selling late in the window, that's not how they operate. Why risk it.. there needs to be more tension & further disruption, Rooney is conforming atm.

Thank you for that analysis.
