He's more of a midfielder, plus he didnt score for fun in the Dutch leagues and he wasnt exactly prolific for us either. Yes he's a cracking player and if anything he's playing the best football of his career right now. We didnt get the best out of Robben as when he was with us he seemed to be made out of balsa wood.

Ever since we signed Kezman I wonder about players who score for fun in the Dutch leagues. Jon Dahl Thomasson and Huntelaar are two others who have failed to live up to their reputation when they ventured to pastures new. The only one I can think of who's carried on his form was Van Horseface.

Ashley Cole has been excellent and by far Englands best player to date. The Portuguese left back has been cracking too, He's been bombing up the flanks and has pace to burn. his name eludes me right now.

I'd like to see the money being donated to a charity of some sort which helps with drug addiction. It would be a great gesture and would show the club in good light instead of taking it and putting it straight into a transfer kitty. Its not like we really need the money now is it ?

I'm pretty pissed off about this. We've been crying out for someone who could run at defenders since Robben and Duff, Stoch could and should have been the player to at least add some width to our attack and wreck havoc on the EPL. I thought he more than proved he was able by playing such an important role for FC Twente last season. It doesnt exactly put out the right vibes for other youth players as they'll believe that no matter how good you are you wont get a chance at Chelsea. WTF is going on with this club ?

Thats the main reason I havent been on much of late. Since the upgrade everything is dragging its arse.

Absolutely delighted when I heard this news the other day. Having him back will be like signing a £30m+ player. He's the complete package and have everything the modern day footballer needs to be considered one of the best. This could be the best signing we'll make this summer.

I couldnt give a toss either way. I from N.Ireland so support N.Ireland. I watch England games with interest for two reasons. 1. It was on TV over here when I was growing up and you got to know more about the players than you would from the Irish League which is tbh....shite 2. Chelsea players play for England and I like to see how they get on. PS....lol @ TX chucking a wobbly

FFS Joe.....The Gooners ????? I've always liked Joe Cole, but he's went right down in my estimation. His contract demands werent met imo as he wasnt in top form and the offer put to him mirrored his performances of late. He could have even tried to agree on an extension with a view to an increase if his performances improved. His love for Chelsea obviously wasnt as strong as he claimed it was.

:ballack: Yes I'd like us to win the CL, but if we should take anything from the past it shows that you need a bit of luck to win it. You dont need luck to win the League Title, you need consistency. One dodgy decision in the CL and you're fucked.

Eto'o was deemed not good enough for Barca nad he just picked up another CL Winners medal I wouldnt rule out signing anyone atm. I agree we should try and avoid signing African players for the reasons already mentioned. Its more hassle than its worth.

I like the idea of getting him. When you think back to when we signed Lampard all those years ago there was alot of doubt about him being able to hack it at Chelsea, but if I'm honest, I think Milner is a better player than the Lampard we signed from West Ham. He scores goals, has bundles of energy and who knows....he could end up replacing Lampard when he finally decides to call it a day. A midfield with Essien, Lampard and Milner would have so much drive its scary.

This ^^^^^^ I'd be more than happy with that and it should be our priority every season. Anything else is a bonus. For those who would prefer the CL I put this to you. Would you sacrafice this seasons double to be playing in the CL Final this weekend ?
