I'm just glad we're getting closer to the opening day of the season. It'll be nice to see how Benayoun fits into the system.

The games that Cech will miss that matter, are against teams you'd expect our defence to have an easier day. West Brom, Wigan, Stoke, West Ham and Blackpool. The first real test will be on the 25th September against Man City and I expect Cech to be back long before then anyway.

If Aguero really wanted a move to Chelsea he would put in a transfer request and there would be nothing that AM could do about it. Too much player power nowadays, and even if AM refused the request, he could go to court to get it pushed through. Tbh, I'm not that fussed on him and never have been. There are better options out there for less money and just as lethal if not more in front of goal.

There's plenty of time to make sigings. We're probably working behind the scenes to get deals done instead of making them public so we dont get drawn into a bidding war with other clubs.

The massive wages came from buying big name players to allow us to make thatstep up the ladder to compete with Manu and Arsenal for the title. Now that we are there, we can afford to keep a core of "big name players" and mix it with our own academy players and get to the target of being self sufficient. If and when the time comes to buy a new player,we can aim for an up and coming player who'll be on decent wages, but not atronomical wages that we can keep within our wage budget. The more I think about this, the more I see it as a simple case of getting our act together. We've spent too long spending money for the sake of it.

For talk sake....even if he did decide to call it a day, the club will not go into freefall as some are saying. He'll have left a club in very good shape. We'll still be one of the big hitters in europeand will continue to attract top players. We could end up with another multi billionaire taking over with more money that Abramovich. If Chelsea came on the market those arabs would be taking hits out on each other to gain control of a club with Chelseas current standing in football.

I doubt he'd want to return as an academy coach or a similar role. He's picked up enough experience during his time as a No2 with some of the best managers football has to offer. He'll use that experience to make a name for himself as a top manager.

Any team spending big money on players is going to be a threat, but I'll wait to see how they gel together and what we and the other top sides do before I would be concerned about them.

Like any player coming in he'll get my support. He's the sort of player who can come off the bench and make an immediate impact. I dont think he'll be a regular starter. He'll be a decent addition to the squad.
