I'd leave Aké at Watford for the rest of the season. He's doing well there and he's getting valuable game time. Azpi to the right and give Kenedy a run of games on that left fullback position. Really liked what i saw from him in that position. Switch to a 4-3-3 to give extra cover for our attacking fullbacks and Fabregas. I feel the reason our attack has looked so stale for so long is because we haven't really been threatening in wide areas. Us not playing natural fullbacks played a big part in that. imo. That needs to change if we are to egt our attack firing again.

Net spending doesn't tell the whole story though. Pedro 27 million Rahman 20 million Begovic 11 million Costa 38 million Fabregas 33 million Cuadrado 31 million Luis 20 million Remy 13,2 million Willian 35.5 million Matic 25 million Schurrle 22 million Salah 16.5 million Zouma 14.6 million That's 13 players and a combined investment of 306.8 million euros over 5 transferwindows. Our net spend is so low because we had a number of talented, high value players at the club that didn't fit Mourinho's system.(Mata, De Bruyne, Luiz, Lukaku) So we sold them to buy players that did fit his system.

Indeed. I should have phrased it differently. Problem for me is nowadays Godwins law gets misused by a lot of people. For some reason people seem to add the " if you compare someone or something with Nazi's or Hitler you lose the argument" to Godwins law. I jumped to the conclusion that that was what you meant. My apologies for that. The terms and analogies Peace used aren't as extreme as you're making them out to be. Like Peace already said himself: I was not comparing us to what they did. I was merely comparing two process that led two groups of people to hate two other groups of people in extreme proportions. In that, the comparisons stand to be relevant and are not extreme.
-
Godwin's law doesn't apply if the comparison is a sensible one. I don't know about the rest of you people but i understood the point "Peace" was making without thinking he was accusing people of being Nazi's. Peace probably put it best himself : I was not comparing us to what they did. I was merely comparing two process that led two groups of people to hate two other groups of people in extreme proportions. In that, the comparisons stand to be relevant and are not extreme.

Don't be ridiculous. You're the one accusing players. This isn't about who has more proof, this is about you ( and others) who don't have any actual evidence, that the players were purposely playing shit to get Mourinho fired, yet you're throwing it around like it's a proven fact. Personally i do think there were a number of players that didn't see eye to eye with Mourinho anymore. That didn't like him anymore however there's a big gap between that and purposely playing poor to get him sacked. They would only be hurting themselves if they did. Do you really think the players didn't want to win the PL this season ? Do you really think they went like " hmm another PL title (+ a lot of (possible) individual accolades) or getting Mourinho sacked ? Hmmm... Getting Mourinho sacked it is ! " Do you really think they've enjoyed themselves this season ? No. I think things simply weren't working out in the beginning of the season and both the players and Mourinho started growing more and more frustrated with each other as the bad results kept coming in. Mourinho kept escalating things (publicly criticizing players, benching them) in order to spark a response but in doing so i feel he put more and more strain on the relationship with his players. Sorry but the proof you've given isn't proof at all. "Some of the players attitude" I'm guessing this is you claiming the player weren't trying. That's not proof though, that's just your opinion. "Jose's statements" He said this after the game : "And again I have to be honest and say day-by-day in training I don't have any problems with the players." On Hazard's injury : "He's injured clearly. during the game I have no time to understand whats going on, I have time now. But clearly he tried and immediately felt no way." link: http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jose-mourinho-full-transcript-under-7013998 "Nevin's statements" Actually it's been taking out of context. He wasn't confirming it. He was genuinely asking. Nevin replied: ‘Yeah, that was Cesc Fabregas, wasn’t it?’ He added: ‘I thought it came out it was Cesc Fabregas. If it was, he’d been one of the strongest and it just shows in his game. I found this out myself in the last couple of days that you do sometimes take on face value what people tell you and it’s not always the truth.’ link: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3365671/Chelsea-legend-Pat-Nevin-alleges-Cesc-Fabregas-lose-play-Jose-Mourinho.html "Emenalo's statements" "Palpable discord with the players." Think it was clear to everyone that things weren't working out between the players and Mourinho. I already elaborated on this in this post. It was clear things weren't good between some of the players and Mourinho but that still doesn't proof they played poorly on purpose. "Courtois statements : "I didn't have a problem with the manager. You'd have to ask the other players about them" Sorry but i think you're reading too much into this. He simply didn't wanna speak in name of the other players. That's all. He basically said " if you wanna know if they had a problem you'd have to ask them yourself."
-
Please tell me this is sarcasm. I mean you can't actually be that stupid ?
-
But you guys have no proof that the players were purposely playing like shit, so stop acting like it's a fact. It's not. You are basing the entire thing on players being out of form and playing poorly. That's it. That's all you have.
-
Oh ffs.
-
Can't even spell Hazard right but sure a "real fan".
-
That's perfectly fine mate. It's the constant accusations and attacks on Hazard's character and integrity as a professional football player ( and person), without a single shred of evidence to back it up, that piss me off.

Don't be so gullible. "A source who has inside knowledge of the situation" That's code for i'm talking out of my ass. Check the source. Only 2 outlets are reporting this. Bleacherreports and NBC sports. Wannabe reporters and an American news outlet. Explain how they would have inside information like that. Also explain to me why the english tabloids aren't jumping on this story and reporting it ? I mean christ even the Sun isn't running it. That should tell you all you need to know. Do you really think that's a valid excuse when we've spent 322 million in the 5 transferwindows Mourinho has been in charge here ? And i'm not 100 % sure but i think we outspent City the other transferwindows before though. Again i know our net spent was very low due to us selling squad players but my point is you can't say our board didn't bring in players to please Mourinho. We had a lot of incoming transfers in Mourinho's second spell here. We did back him. Did we show ambition to retain the title ? Imo no but i don't think Mourinho would have been sacked if he hadn't won the title at the end of the season. I think the club just wanted a top four season and a decent run in the CL. I'm sorry but i just don't see that as a valid reason. We might not have invested that much in our squad over the summer but before we did invest quite heavily. And regardless, even with no investments ( although we did buy Pedro and begovic.) over the summer we shouldn't be 1 point off relegation after 16 games. If Guardiola would come here i have no doubt he'd make us play in a similar style as Barcelona did and Bayern do now. Ofcourse it wouldn't be an exact copy. There would be different tweaks to the system but it would be a very attacking system based around keeping possession.
-
Back him, give him a chance to succeed. What exactly do you mean with that though ? Are you talking about them getting rid of half their squad because they got fed up with Mourinho's methods after 2 years ? Hate to break it to you but no team in the world would do that. Also are you saying the Chelsea board didn't back him ? Didn't give him a chance to succeed ? If so then . Over a period of 2 and a half years (5 transfer windows) we've spent over 322 million on new players. Yes we've sold players aswell for lots of money but they were all squad players. Players who Mourinho feltl weren't good enough to start for him. People blame Emenalo and the board for the current squad but you're kidding yourself if you believe Mourinho was an innocent bystander in what players we bought and what players we sold. We sold players that didn't fit his system and bought players that did. There's no denying that. This squad is very much his squad. His personality changed not his pragmatic coaching methods. Who i want as a manager ? Guardiola would be the dream but i doubt he'd wanna come here, still he should be our number one candidate in the summer for me. If Guardiola isn't avaiIable i woudn't mind having Hiddink as our permanent manager. Wouldn't want Simeone. Too similar to Mourinho. Too defensive. Honestly i'd be good with any manager that wants to play posititve attacking football. Someone that doesn't blame everyone but himself for poor results and doesn't go looking for conflicts every chance he gets.
-
He'd do a great job for 2 years and then lose the dressing room. It's happened at Madrid. It happened here. It would happen there aswell. He's simply been found out as a short term manager. The siege mentality, which is vital for Mourinho, turns against him after a while. He needs to keep escalating things to keep the us vs them thing going and his pragmatic way of coaching gets boring fast.
-
Lmao. The only thing that is imaginary is Mourinho still being called the best manager in the world or the best thing for Chelsea. The best manager in the world, the best thing for Chelsea doesn't drag us down to 1 point of relegation. LOL LOL
-
The fans aren't thinking straight. 16th in the league. 15 points out of 16 games. Out of 16 games only 4 wins, 3 draws and 9 losses. 1 point above relegation zone. He needed to go. Quite frankly it was long overdue. The history Mourinho had here and the support from the fans is what kept in charge for this long.
-
Maybe not but it feels a bit ridiculous to have him give you a lecture on calling someone a cunt when the entire forum is going apeshit on the players and the board.
-
They named specific players. Hazard, Costa, Fabregas, Matic, Ivanovic, Falcao. Not to mention the board and Emenalo especially have received their fair share of insults aswell.
-
In the Mourinho thread the majority of our players have been called spineless cunts, mercenaries with weak mentality's, questioned their professionality( and integrity) and much much more.
-
Oh come on, take a look around the forum. Players are being called much worse by people and i don't see you complaining to them.

mass hysteria : A socially contagious frenzy of irrational behavior in a group of people as a reaction to an event.

I never said he created lots of chances against Tottenham. I said he created problems for the back four, which he did. He was holding the ball up, running in behind the Tottenham defence, running the channels. He was an AM playing as a striker yet he did everything you'd expect from a striker. Almost scored aswell with a left footed volley. Ofcourse he had less defensive work then Willian/Oscar/Pedro. He was the striker. Tottenham had the majority of possession as we were primarily set up not to concede. About Mourinho praising Hazard. I'm not saying everything Mourinho says is right but i find it odd that Mourinho, MoTD analists and even fans on this forum thought that was a good performance and even specifically praised his work ethic in that game. Saying he did everything he could to make it work yet you soemhow seem to remember differently. "the dribbling past a player and then crossing the ball into a box filled with 8 opposition players and costa" And that's Hazard's fault ? That we don't have enough players in the box ? That Costa has completely forgotten how to make a near- and backpost run ? Teams know we like to play through the centre so they just pack the central areas and force us out wide. The fact that we have a rb playing lb and an aging cb playing rb means that our wingplay is solely reliant on our wingers getting past their marker(s), reach the byline and cross the ball into like you say a box filled with 8 opposition players and Costa. Without some significant tactical change we aren't going to see any improvement. As long as we don't improve our wing play (as in play some natural f*cking FB's) and improve our movement inside the box, teams are just gonna continue to pack the central areas and we're gonna continue to struggle. I mean seriously how many times have Azpi and Ivanovic delivered a proper cross ? Or get in behind the defence and reach the byline ? Azpi almost never crosses and Ivanovic is too busy hitting the first defender even though he's in acres of space and not under pressure at all. He has 0 goals this season. He 's been in poor form no denying that but then again he's never been a goalscorer. Let face it he's more of a creator then a goalscorer. That's where his strenght has been for us. Other players haven't been doing that much better though in terms of goalscoring. Almost halfway through our season and Costa has 4 goals, Oscar 3 goals, Pedro 1 goal, Willian has 7 goals but 5 of those came directly from setpieces. It's clear that the lack of goals isn't just down to Hazard alone. The entire team is struggling to get goals from open play.
-
What's so funny. He had good performances against those teams. Don't know how you can speak of a free rein against Tottenham. He was playing in the striker position but he ran his ass off in that position. He was constantly moving and trying to create problems for Tottenham's back four. He was even praised for his work ethic in that game on MoTD. Even Mourinho praised him in the post match interview. Euhm yeah he's still getting double marked buddy. Let's face it who else of our team are they gonna mark. Even in the poorest form of his life he still creates more chances then anyone else in our team. Let that sink in for a second.

Hey, hey get your own Man united fan quotes. I've got dibs on this one.
-
One of their members described Mourinho perfectly, imo. "He is pretty much the perfect man to get the job done i.e: get you a medal. He is the equivalent of a hitman really. Logic suggests therefore that if you need a trophy in the here and now, he is your number 1 candidate above pretty much everyone else. He is more proven than Pep and makes Ancelotti look like a newbie in the art of winning trophies and one bad season is not going to change that. The catch though is you have to abandon any notion of a style with him and by style I don't mean entertaining or attacking football or whatever. I simply mean an idea, a foundation that can be called upon for long term success which is again a bit like a hitman, he would come in, do the job with whatever means necessary and get it done."
-
When has he tried ? Oh come on. He's been poor for the first months of the season but this last month he's put in more good performances then bad. Twice vs Stoke, Norwich, Tottenham, Bournemouth, Porto. Yeah still not his best but this accusation that he's not trying is just BS. Also Hazard doesn't have a free role anymore. After Mourinho's public criticism he lost that free role. If you don't believe me just rewatch our game vs Porto and see how deep he was positioned at times. But even if he is fit to play against Sunderland it doesn't mean he was faking it. Apparently he could barely walk on it the next day (and the day itself) so how could he have continued ?
