Jason always posts who's fit and who isn't in the match thread so you don't need to watch Mourinho's presser to know. Reasons behind a player's contract extension ? Not really. Imo most of the time the reasons are very cliché. Yeah you asked about todays presser but i already explained the connection between todays presser and Zolayes his comment. " What Zolayes is basically saying is "talk is cheap" Mourinho can say what he wants in his press conferences unless we actually see it on the pitch it's meaningless. Like for example Mourinho talking about building a dynasty 2 years ago but we look far from a dynasty atm don't we " Maybe it would be best if we just dropped it. Feel like this discussion is just gonna go back and forth.

Game of riddles ? Really ? It's not that hard to see the connection between your question and Zolayes his post. What Zolayes is basically saying is "talk is cheap" Mourinho can say what he wants in his press conferences unless we actually see it on the pitch it's meaningless. Like for example Mourinho talking about building a dynasty 2 years ago but we look far from a dynasty atm don't we ? To answer your question myself. I didn't watch his presser because i don't care how Mourinho does in his press conferences. What i care about is what happens on the pitch. He can win all the arguments in the press conferences. It means very little to me when we're 15th in the league and have won just 1 in 7.

This. Was gonna post the same thing. Can't believe he's trying to claim some sort of moral highground. That's just

Bethos already apologized for that so how about you let it go.

What would it take to turn the season around?
Belgiannutt replied to bluephoenix's topic in Matthew Harding Stand
We are currently 15th on the table, what is the most realistic position that you guys think we would/could/should end up/aim for at the end of season ? Champions league football, top 4. 1. What formation or tactics do you think we should adopt going forward? 4-3-3. In order to get the best out of Fabregas without comprimising our defensive midfield. In the current 4-2-3-1 it's always a choice between sticking Fabregas in a 2 man midfield, comprimising our defensive midfield but maximizing his ability to influence our buildup play or sticking him in the nr 10 position which limits his ability to influence our build up play but keeps our defensive midfield solid. 2. What do you think should be our priority going forward? An identity. A clear direction to where we want to go with this club. What type of football do we want to play ? After that's decided go out and only hire managers that play that type of football. 3. What position do you want to see Chelsea be at the end of season? Top 4. 4. January transfer window (who should we buy, how will they fit in the grand scheme of things)? Left back, an allround (hard working, technical) midfielder that can complement a Matic- Fabregas midfield, ball playing centre back. 5. Who should play, who shouldn't? Begovic Azpi Cahill Zouma Baba Matic RLC Fabregas Willian Hazard Costa 6. What kind of tactics do you think will get us out of this slump? Given the situation we're in atm i'd say go defensive. Compact 4-3-3 but i'd try and help our attack by allowing our fullbacks to push up high when we have the ball. While we need to stop conceding we also need to start scoring more goals from open play. Adding attacking fullbacks would freshen up our attack and maybe catch some teams offguard. As a bonus, how did we go from Premier league to staying clear of relegation ? (quiet frankly I knew we weren't good enough to defend title the way we played last season, but this?) Pfff... honestly i don't think anyone expected this. I mean i was one of the people that "moaned" about our negative approach in big games and our negative playing style we adopted last season (second half of the season ofcourse) but i never imagined it would get this bad. Looking back (hindsight is a wonderful thing) i feel the problems started last season when the team suddenly had a massive dip in form. Instead of looking for the root of the problem(s) we just put a bandage on it (the bandage being us playing more pragmatic). We let it fester and now we're in this nightmare which just seems to be getting worse and worse by every passing game. -
It's not about being a better manager. Atm i think a lot of people would just settle for an interim manager that doesn't go seeking conflicts every chance he gets. Our season so far has been conflicts and shitstorms one after another. If Mourinho didn't create the conflict himself you'd just see him throwing gasoline onto it.

No offense but i think you need to put things in perspective. Your complaining about Mourinho not getting a £40m player but forgetting that he had 5 transferwindows to buy players in which we bought : Willian 35.5 million Matic 25 milion Schurrle 22 million Salah 16.5 million Zouma 14.6 million Costa 38 million Fabregas 33 million Cuadrado 31 million Filipe Luis 20 million Remy 13.2 million Pedro 27 million Rahmann 26 million Begovic 11 million All combined that's 312.8 million euros in 5 transferwindows on 13 players. We've spent 312.8 million euros on incoming players. People love to deflect from the amount of money we spent on players by saying we also sold alot of players for profit. Which is true but it doesn't change the fact that we've bought alot of fucking players (and they weren't cheap !) and now your using us not spending 40, 50, 60, 70 million in the last transferwindow as an excuse for the abysmal season we're having ?! Come on. He's had his transfers. He's had his time to shape this team. He's not dealing with an ageing squad nor a squad of youngsters there's no reason why we should be in this mess right now. If Mourinho can't make this squad tick without new transfers, which he helped put together in the last 2 years ,then he isn't the right man.

Again that's your opinion. There are other people who don't find the comments to be "childish" and "redundant". I never called you a "Mourinho worshipper" ? Sacrificing a goat ? Well whatever makes you happy i suppose...
-
But the counterarguments have been countered by people. You just seem to completely dismiss them and only acknowledge the counterarguments in favor of Mourinho.
-
Ever thought that maybe the counterarguments you believe to be "good" and "rational" aren't deemed as such by other people ? Something for you to think about.
-
"Chances" 5 starts in 5 months time. The true issue is Mourinho and him being a short term manager. He doesn't rotate his squad properly which has benefits short term but in the long run it burns out the ones constantly playing and pisses off the ones that don't. (De Bruyne, Filipe Luis)
-
It's true that he has progressed under Mourinho but how much of a factor Mourinho's been is up for debate. Noone can really know. I agree with Pseudo. Imo Hazard would do better under a more offensive manager. I don't think Hazard can reach his full potential under Mourinho. Mourinho's all about balance and limiting risks. Example Azpi on the left back position to balance that left side. Part of me wonders though, as great as Hazard was last season could he have been better if he had had say someone like Marcelo, Alaba or Jordi alba supporting him ? I think he would have performed even better.

-
Maybe he'll still play. Even on one leg he's still taller then Rahman...
-
I'll take that as a yes.
-
Why ? You don't like Guardiola ?
-
Ofcourse its not that simple. Regardless of what happens now be it players getting dropped or Mourinho getting sacked it's gonna take time to get out of this mess. Indeed, replacing Ivanovic or Fabregas isn't going to magically fix things, but their constant selection is a problem that has a deeper influence on the team then some on here seem to realize. It's clear that Mourinho is using double standards to decide who gets dropped and who gets to play. A different set of rules seem to apply to Ivanovic/Fabregas and the rest of the team. If the majority of the fans can see that Ivanovic and Fabregas are getting treated differently don't you think that the players themselves can see it too ? The players have to be wondering: Why did Terry, Matic get dropped yet Ivanovic and Fabregas keep their place ? Why does everyone else get dropped apart from them ? Hazard and Schurrle got publicly criticised and singled out in the past for not tracking their man yet Fabregas has done it 2 games in a row yet he isn't being singled out, publicly criticised or being dropped. How can you expect the team to be a unified front when as a manager you treat 1 set of players differently then the others ?
-
BS. Last season the team played poorly in the second part of the season. Hazard stepped up. If he hadn't stepped up the way he did we simply wouldn't have won the PL. This is getting ridiculous. He's in poor form atm but some people here sure like to rewrite history. Claiming he can't lead a team in difficult times even though he did it last season.
-
Ridiculous decision. You don't embarrass a player like that.
-
Disagree with that. The players deserve blame for our poor form but it's clear that something isn't right behind the scenes. When so many players play like shit for such an extended period of time you have to start looking at the manager, his tactics and the team atmosphere.
-
I don't think that's a very good way to measure how upset our players are. You can be upset about the current form without having to vent your frustrations at the opponent. By tackling him hard and getting sent off. It would be a pretty stupid thing to do as you'd just get cards and end up putting your team in more trouble.
-
Edited my post to avoid any butthurt. Hope you guys also include favouritisme towards Mourinho in your discussion. Cause, IMO, some people on this forum seem to have a hard time accepting criticism directed at Mourinho and then like to go and call other people "not true fans". Anyway, good talk.
-
Well it'sjust my opinion but apparently on this forum you're not allowed to have a negative opinion about anything Mourinho related. About your last sentence, aren't you supposed to reprimand people for saying stupid shit like that ? I mean you are a moderator right ?
-
Enjoy it while you can. Just can't see him surviving this season. IMO everyone at the club just seems exhausted and fed up with Mourinho. This has happened at every club where he's stayed for more then 2 years. That third season everything falls apart.

Jose Mourinho scapegoating Oscar, Loic Remy and John Terry sends shockwaves through Chelsea squad Chelsea's manager faces questions over whether he has picked on the wrong players as club's disastrous start to the season continues There are fears Oscar is being made a scapegoat at Chelsea Photo: REX By Matt Law, Football News Correspondent 1:23PM BST 30 Sep 2015 Jose Mourinho is facing a battle to prove that he is not scapegoating the wrong players for Chelsea’s disastrous start to the season. Chelsea manager Mourinho left Oscar, Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao in England for Chelsea’s Champions League defeat to Porto, while captain John Terry remained on the substitutes’ bench. The decisions over Oscar, Remy and Terry, coupled with the fact Branislav Ivanovic kept his place at right-back despite his terrible form and the growing belief that his focus has been affected by unresolved contract negotiations, sent shockwaves through the club's squad. John Terry's position at Chelsea has been uncertain since he was dropped to the bench at Manchester City With Chelsea in 14th place in the Premier League and now third in Champions League Group G, Mourinho’s actions are facing greater scrutiny from inside and outside the club. Mourinho insisted that his team selection for Tuesday night was not a form of punishment for Oscar, Remy or on-loan Falcao, and the Portuguese has consistently refused to publically criticise individuals this season. But having seen Mourinho complain about the “unstable attitudes” of some unnamed players, the view from inside the camp is that Oscar and Remy paid the price for the first-half performance against Newcastle United last weekend, which Mourinho rated as “minus one.” • What happens when you cross Jose Mourinho? Oscar and Remy are now becoming increasingly resigned to the fact that they face uncertain futures at Chelsea while Mourinho is in charge. Both players were open to the possibility of leaving Stamford Bridge in the summer, but neither Oscar nor Remy pushed the issue with Mourinho or the club. Loic Remy does not get a look-in at Chelsea Oscar would have joined Juventus if Chelsea had agreed to sell to the Italians, while Remy was interested in the prospect of remaining in London with West Ham United or Crystal Palace, or moving back to France. It remains to be seen whether or not Chelsea will be able to do the incoming business that would allow Oscar and Remy to move in the January transfer window, but the pair are not optimistic they will last past next summer. Mourinho’s reservations over Oscar have confused some of the Brazilian’s team-mates, who believe the 24-year-old is vital to the side playing cohesively. The situation regarding Ivanovic is more complicated, with the defender’s future uncertain, even though Mourinho keeps picking him. It is not viewed as a coincidence that the form of 31-year-old Ivanovic dipped last season, when stories started to appear that he was unhappy with the prospect of only being a offered a one-year contract extension. Branislav Ivanovic struggled at Porto Ivanovic was subsequently linked with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich, but Chelsea called the defender’s bluff by refusing to be panicked into accepting his demands and allowed the Serb to start this season with only 12 months remaining on his current deal. The negotiating position of Ivanovic has now been severely weakened by his poor performances and the fact he has offered little evidence on the pitch that he is worthy of a long-term contract. It is hard to fathom, therefore, why Ivanovic was made vice-captain for the season and continues to be picked by Mourinho while others are left at home and Terry has dropped down to the substitutes’ bench. Unlike Ivanovic, Terry is philosophical over his contract situation after being made to wait until May and March to secure extensions for the past two years. The 34-year-old is far more focussed on trying to win his place back and prove to Mourinho he is still the man for the big occasion. With Terry on the bench and the likes of Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba and Petr Cech now gone, Chelsea once again lacked leadership on the pitch in Porto. Chelsea's line-up in Porto lacked leadership Cesc Fabregas was the one man trying to lead by example and was constantly talking to his team-mates, but there are no longer authoritative voices all over the pitch. Former Chelsea defender and talkSPORT host Jason Cundy, who still has close ties to the club, went public in his view that Mourinho has got it wrong over Terry and Ivanovic. “Something is bugging me at Chelsea – if you’re going to drop John Terry, that’s the manager’s decision and whether you agree or disagree you have to go with that,” said Cundy. "But to give the armband to Ivanovic, who is having a really tough time at the moment and has arguably been Chelsea’s worst player this season, what does that say to the best defender Chelsea had last season in John Terry? "If you’re going to drop him, that’s fine, it happens in football, but I think Mourinho is sending out a message. “John Terry hasn’t played badly this season and I think he’s been really unfairly treated. I don’t think he’s played badly enough for him to be on the bench.”
