Nainggolan is also better than Matic defensively (his tackles and aggressivness are second to none) and, as you said, offensively because he is versatile. Matic on the other hand is an one dimensional player, who doesn´t have many skills going forward. When Matic is pressed he is basically useless, because he isn´t a good passer and because of that we will struggle against the big teams in europe.
-
No one denies that he was an valuable asset in our last title winning team, but he has been below par for too long now. His sloppiness, his lack of awareness, passing range and technique is costing us, especially in big games. Yes he shut down the shop against City the other day, but in the majority of this kind of games he looks lost. We can´t go far in Europe next season when we have limited guys like him in our starting XI. There are much better players than him out there, I would swap him for Nainggolan in a heartbeat. And I´m not sure which great teams are after Matic unless you consider Mourinho´s United as a top team.

He wins more headers than Costa and Matic combined and I´m not even lying.
-
Reminds me so much of 2015 when he was carrying to the title from new year on. No coincidence that he was POTY back then. He will win this award this year too.
-
His link up play was absolutely atrocious again. He didn´t even win a single header today, which would have been vital in the last 20 minutes. I really miss the times with Didier upfront, who was a master at laying off the ball for our players. Diego can be glad that he doesn´t have any competition for his place in the starting XI, otherwise he would have been benched a long time ago.
-
Great game by him again, he really gives his all and his defensive contribution is exceptional. His directness is an attribute which not many player in our squad possess, which gives us great options when we are on the counter. I´m starting to like him more game after game.

Sleeve sponsors look so ugly on football shirts, this isn't basketball. Gone are the days where every top-team had a classic, beautiful shirt like in 2006.
-
I thought he played very good in the last few weeks. His crossing is sensational, altough unfortunately we don´t have the players to utilize the. You can´t really complain about his commitment too, he gives his all every game. I was a little bit sceptical at first when we signed him, but I think he proved that he deserves a place in this team, be it in the starting XI or not.
-
I am so angry at him. Why didn´t he just pass the ball to Hazard sideways to Hazard to give him a 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper? If he doesn´t show signs of improvement in the next few weeks we should sell him in the summer.
-
Could have been easily 2-2 if Diego passes to Hazard. Even Lukaku would have done that. I am almost finished with him.
-
He showed glimpses of his former self in the mid of this season, but now he is back to bad form. You know you are in troube when you had Ballack and basically replaced him with Matic a few seasons later.
-
Matic has been awful so far.
-
I thought you took it as offensive. Doesn´t matter.
-
I got your joke, my post wasn´t meant to be offensive by any means.

As long as its not Oscar...
-
It should tell us something when both Milan clubs are after him. Would be a pretty underwhelming signing.
-
He was our only creative spark in a broken, overaged team.
-
Sanchez: "I want to play in a winning team and be in the same city." #CFC This quote doing the rounds on twitter. He supposedly said it in a interview in Chile.
-
Kante was pretty bad for his standards yesterday, no need to judge a player by one game. Especially when you consider that France was set up badly from the first minute and it was a international friendly after all.
-
Not really comparable as Willian was already a finished product when he joined us and in comparison to Oscar he already proved in european competitions that he is good enough to compete before joining us.
-
Great, we tend to win the league when our shirt isn´t good looking.
-
Yes exactly. I think that's the way to go if we want to get far in the CL next season. We won't win anything in europe with Kante and Matic/Bakayoko as our double pivot. We couldn't control the midfield against Spurs twice, imagine if we face the likes of Real, Atletico or Bayern.
-
Would absolutely love him here tbh. Slot him next to Kante and Fabregas and we will walk the Premier League again next season.
-
I believe that Cesc would really thrive next to Kante and Nainggolan for example as they are good enough defensively to cover his weaknesses. That being said, I think Fabregas really improved the defensive side of his game this season under Conte and is much more difficult to pass by nowadays than two years ago. I can see where you are coming from, but in my opinion in todays game its crucial to have atleast one creative midfielder in your side. Just look at Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG or even Man City. They all play with this kind of players game after game, because they know what kind of difference they can make against every opponent. Remember our recent games against any decent european side and you will come to conclusion that we looked absolutely clueless (which was also Mourinhos fault) going forward.

He would have been a great buy in 2013 or so because he has great defensive qualities paired with a decent technique for a CM, but he has declined a little bit so we should look out for other, preferably younger, players. It would be interesting to know what kind of formation Conte will use if we sign 1-2 new midfielders in the summer, because I think a midfield three consisting of Kante, Fabregas and Nainggolan would be near perfect for example.
