His ability to carry the ball forward is quite underrated on here I think. The few times I watched him last season I always got the feeling that he has decent technique and can dribble past opponents. Of course, he doesn't have the elegant close control dribbling like Verratti, but he is fast and can force his way through midfield by his strength if he needs to.

It would have been better if he would have gone abroad to say Juventus. I don't like the strengthening of direct rivals, which we have done in recent years. I mean bar Torres we never really buy any players from the top 6 in England. Of course, Matic isn't exactly a top player, but would United sell us Martial for example? I doubt it.

I´m still not over the fact that we sold him back to Atletico. He would be a beast as a LWB under Conte´s system. I think Alonso played very good last season and I like him a lot, but Filipe Luis is on another level, imo the best allround fullback in the last four years. Sadly the delusion of Mourinho sealed Filipes unfortunate Chelsea career.

Missing out on overpriced players isn't the end of the world. I am still calm and trust the board, its not late August is it? I mean missing out on £50 million Stones wasn't a bad thing after all. We have Christensen who has so much potential and is ready to prove himself at Chelsea, but there are people who want to have a decent at best defender to be our most expensive signing ever, I don't get it. We need good attackers or a new right wing back, but a CB shouldn't be our priority.

I think he would be a great short-term upgrade for Moses. A little bit of rotation wouldn´t harm Victor, because he had no competition all year. Alves´ experience could be crucial if we reach the knockout phase of the CL.

It depends. If the bands in the hock are also torned, which happens quite often, it will last much longer.

Would be hilarious if Jose goes for a Fellaini- Matic double pivot. Jokes aside, I think we should keep him as a squad player. He has some weaknesses, but against most premier league clubs he can be useful when he is used properly. Of course he isn´t a good athlete, which means that it is far from a good idea to start him all season, his stamina is pretty underwhelming for a professional footballer. I hope we sign good midfielder, altough there aren´t many of decent quality on the market. I think Corentin Tolisso is quite good, because he can put in a shift defensively while he is also able to dictate the play from midfield. He has exactly the attributes which we are looking for, but I don´t know if he is good enough to transfer his style to England yet.

I would still keep him if it´s possible. We won´t get a better replacement this summer. He also tends to rise to the occasion, which is all we need when we reach late CL stages.

What a great season he had. He proved the doubters wrong big time as he was in great form all year. Hope he can carry on next season, it's great to have guys like him in our squad.

No not at all, I think we have some other options to consider before thinking about Mahrez like Bernardo Silva or Sanchez.
