Please stop with the loser / no life / nerd ( take your pick) 007 twitter douche bag. No self respecting person sits around tweeting about football transfers all day, guy is either a loser or a twelve year old school boy. Damn literally anyone can do what he does. I'm still waiting on the Moses and Azi signing to be completed (two weeks ago).

Okay I see your logic. I believe Sturridge can step up this year but I'm a little concerned about cover. One injury to either him or Torres and we are in a really awkward position. Not sure who else is out there to provide us with squad depth. Even if Hulk were to sign he is not the answer. Defoe anyone?
-
But do we really need another 24-26 year old striker? What happens to Lukaka development? Betbatov offers us a couple of years of football at a reasonable price plus he is proven in PL. He is technical good, links up well with midfield and is good with his back to goal. Would certainly help in what is going to be a transitional year for us. Plus he would be cheap. Man, im begginibg to convince myself.
-
Nahh pass on that, he would be a fool to move to city though (I'm not sure he is), would only be signed to make up the HG rule.
-
Bump this..... Guy is perfect for us, would accept a squad place, links up well with midfield and is comfortable with his back to goal. His age is perfect as it would allow Lukaka to develop and make the step up in a few years. Plus his value is reduced, can't see United wanting 5 strikers on their books. Sign him, Tricky has spoken.
-
Bolt? Might have to offer some training but boy oh boy can that guy shift.... Just stick the ball to his foot and make him run into the goal!!
-
I think he understands your point, think you have missed his... valuation is based on availability. We want him and they don't want to sell; the result is a vastly inflated fee. Each and every transfer is unique (see RVP price for example), and can not be compared to past or future purchases. But I tend to agree with you, there is better value to be had in the market, so with that in mind I believe this fee to be excessive.
-
Please stop with the back up CF argument, this guy is not a striker.
-
Guy would be cheap, maybe two years left in him and just enough time for Lukaka to develop. It's a squad game, think he would add some depth and a reasonable price.
-
This would be a logical deal. Guy has five years of football left in him, wouldn't command a stupid transfer fee / wages and would probably accept being our number two striker. My only concern is Lukaka. But since we are Chelsea I see us paying £45 million for a greedy Brazilian wide man who some claim as a an option at CF on £160k a week.
-
Have to agree, not saying he is rubbish but I'm not sure we need yet another wide player cutting into what's going to be a congested midfield. There is a reason why Lampard and co were so good a few years ago, we had some genuine width. I'd prefer a DM and a back up CF. Hell buy The young lad from Rens, stich up AVB, complete the RB signing and offer £5 mil for Betbatov. Job done!!!
-
In all the world our only option for attacking for squad depth is a £35 million player? Really? In London alone we could nab Defoe and RVP. Both are proven scoters in the PL and would offer us squad depth, we don't need a superstar wanting to play every game. IMO.
-
Does he? Football fans are generally fickle, only have to look at the number of times people want us to "sell him he has lost it" comments posted on forums.
-
Would fit well plus he has played PL football and would probably accept a squad place rather than first team start. Fee and wages could be excessive, but City simply have to many forwards and Adebayor (the new Bogarde) is going nowhere.
-
I've never said he was the worst in the league, but I do believe some people over rate his abilities. Tends to be people who don't watch him live. IMO I'd have liked Martinez but De Jong could be a viable choice given his contract situation (they won't sell to us). I don't see Ramirez in this role, he is no good with his back to goal (ie building from back), doesn't have the best positioning and isn't the biggest (actually think he is or could be a great full back / wing back. Anyways Romolu anyone? I liked what I saw last year, just needs more opportunity.
-
I'm thinking no.... Most of them had never played 4-3-3 till he JM joined us, yet they adapted and dominated. Only two of our back four remain, only two of the midfield remain (maybe three)and none of the strikers he employees. Might need a couple of signings but it's viable would actually unlock the potential in both Ramires and Luiz in my opinion. I'd certainly co sider this as a possible formation, perhaps not our default one though.
-
So you want to spend another 80-100 million? Really? This is not fantasy football people.
-
What's "a Drogba"? Could be wrong but his scoring record for the last two years has been pants. Yes scored in big games, but couldn't hit a barn door in the PL.
-
Well since it provided us with so many laughs "you keep your history we've got Fernando you keep your history" etcetra I'd say it was a perfect start.
-
Honestly don't see us signing this guy for the prices quoted, I've said it before an ill say it again, with agent fees and wages thrown in this is a £80 million deal. No way they are agreeing that with FFP coming into effect, better value for money to be had elsewhere. And people are right, the time and space afforded in Portugal won't be provided in the EPL (see Ramires and Luiz first 12 months hell didiers). So even if he were signed I'd not expect an immediate return on investment next season. Moses actually makes more sense.
-
We are a team in transition, shall be for 1-2 years now, but I'm happy with that. Flooded the squad with youth, where as City have made the same mistakes Roman did when he first arrived. They have signed established players on huge wages and are now struggling to move them on. Once the team gels it's going to be one hell of a force. Only requirement is a top four finish for me along with Super Cup and WCC anything else and I'd be delighted.
-
I've no emotional ties to the Bridge, the ground has changed so much since I was a kid. Gone are the terraces and those crappy wooden / cement benches. Only tie I have is to the general area, if we move we have to insure its within a 1-2 mile radius, I don't want to be commuting to Crawley for every home game!!
-
Well if the sports mail reporter is talking about it then it's practically a done deal!!
-
MLS.. Emm is that the league where over the hill EPL stars go to retire and pick up stupendous wages? Oh hang on, scrub the stars bit as I'm pretty sure Robbie Keane plays out there. It's a second tier league, it would be rude to compare Belgium with it in all honesty. As for signing yet another CM... Bah we stacked already, if we wanted one we would have pulled in for Modric.
