  1. Would fit well plus he has played PL football and would probably accept a squad place rather than first team start. Fee and wages could be excessive, but City simply have to many forwards and Adebayor (the new Bogarde) is going nowhere.
  2. I've never said he was the worst in the league, but I do believe some people over rate his abilities. Tends to be people who don't watch him live. IMO I'd have liked Martinez but De Jong could be a viable choice given his contract situation (they won't sell to us). I don't see Ramirez in this role, he is no good with his back to goal (ie building from back), doesn't have the best positioning and isn't the biggest (actually think he is or could be a great full back / wing back. Anyways Romolu anyone? I liked what I saw last year, just needs more opportunity.
  3. I'm thinking no.... Most of them had never played 4-3-3 till he JM joined us, yet they adapted and dominated. Only two of our back four remain, only two of the midfield remain (maybe three)and none of the strikers he employees. Might need a couple of signings but it's viable would actually unlock the potential in both Ramires and Luiz in my opinion. I'd certainly co sider this as a possible formation, perhaps not our default one though.
  4. So you want to spend another 80-100 million? Really? This is not fantasy football people.
  5. What's "a Drogba"? Could be wrong but his scoring record for the last two years has been pants. Yes scored in big games, but couldn't hit a barn door in the PL.
  6. Well since it provided us with so many laughs "you keep your history we've got Fernando you keep your history" etcetra I'd say it was a perfect start.
  7. Honestly don't see us signing this guy for the prices quoted, I've said it before an ill say it again, with agent fees and wages thrown in this is a £80 million deal. No way they are agreeing that with FFP coming into effect, better value for money to be had elsewhere. And people are right, the time and space afforded in Portugal won't be provided in the EPL (see Ramires and Luiz first 12 months hell didiers). So even if he were signed I'd not expect an immediate return on investment next season. Moses actually makes more sense.
  8. We are a team in transition, shall be for 1-2 years now, but I'm happy with that. Flooded the squad with youth, where as City have made the same mistakes Roman did when he first arrived. They have signed established players on huge wages and are now struggling to move them on. Once the team gels it's going to be one hell of a force. Only requirement is a top four finish for me along with Super Cup and WCC anything else and I'd be delighted.
  9. I've no emotional ties to the Bridge, the ground has changed so much since I was a kid. Gone are the terraces and those crappy wooden / cement benches. Only tie I have is to the general area, if we move we have to insure its within a 1-2 mile radius, I don't want to be commuting to Crawley for every home game!!
  10. Well if the sports mail reporter is talking about it then it's practically a done deal!!
  11. MLS.. Emm is that the league where over the hill EPL stars go to retire and pick up stupendous wages? Oh hang on, scrub the stars bit as I'm pretty sure Robbie Keane plays out there. It's a second tier league, it would be rude to compare Belgium with it in all honesty. As for signing yet another CM... Bah we stacked already, if we wanted one we would have pulled in for Modric.
  12. Yeah if Lukaka is off I'd imagine we have something lined up.... Doubt it's Cavani though, more likely Moses. Oh and please, please, please take Merieles, what's a pile of used pants that guy has been since signing for us. If they guy was playing one touch against a wall on his own he would still manage to give the ball away. PANTS!!
  13. Have you been to Naples? That part of the coast is like a slice of heaven.... be a tough place to leave.
  14. 19th century scientific term used to justify racial superiority. The worlds best super marathon runners are Asian, the worlds best female marathon runner is Caucasian. Not sure I like this "they have more stamina because they are African" argument. Mainly because it's a load of BS.... Back on topic, hoping they push this deal through quickly.
  15. Please stop with the... "they run far because they are African", there is a term for this kind of generalisisms.
  16. Finally, we can put this farce to bed... The fee and the wage demands would have meant a £80 million deal over 5 years, no way that was ever going to happen this isn't FM. Moses and Azi it is then, can't wait for the season to start.
  17. Well I've read the OP so I'm not mentioning the usual super star names. If we want a contingency / support for Torres what's wrong with Defoe or as suggested Peter Crouch? Guess it depends on how we are intending setting up to play this year. But Defoe is a proven goal scorer in the PL. Is disgruntled with life at the spuds and wouldn't have to relocate. Crouch is actually a useful big man as well, plus he is a Chelsea fan.
  18. I believe talk shite are reporting that PSG are his preferred destination. Apparently he has been to Manchester and didn't like what he saw, describing the place as "boring" that's Brazilliam for "dump"!! Please make this true...
  19. Earls court is perfect. Think the underground line might explain why planning permission has not been granted though. Would be very tricky to safely construct on top of it, would probably find a lot of opposition from LU. Make it do Roman, build a lasting legacy, give us a new home!!!
  20. So your at work... Some clown leaves a bar of soap on the floor in the bathroom. Bam your on your back having slipped on the damn thing. Only problem is you can't move, seems your back has undergone some major trauma. Do you: A - resign, hell it was your fault and you don't deserve any financial support. B - sue them for every penny they got. C - take advantage of the generous health care package, whilst receiving full pay until your back to full health? Your logic seems to suggest that you hand in your resignation. Good luck with that... I'm going with C.
  21. WTF? Essien was a beast for us, it's awful to see the guy struggling due to injuries sustained whilst putting it on the line for our club. He deserves respect.... Malouda..... Emmm, not a parasite but should certainly be sold. Let's be honest Winston Bogarde they are not
  22. Cole, Terry, Lampard, Essien, Cech, Torres to name but a few... Are you suggesting we need experience? I actually like that we have pursued players under the age of 23-24 recently. Means they should grow as a team, giving us a great spine for years to come.
  23. I'd probably take Modric over Fabregas, but I'm glad we never stumped up £40 million for him. Both world class but I just think we needed someone creating from deep, believe Modric is better at that. On a side note I respect Levy, guy doesn't want to sell his best players (not easy to replace em) and drives up the price to maximize returns when he does.... stills dozy spud though.
  24. Risky but could be worth a gamble. Nice call...
