He is talented. Just struggling majorly. He'd be 10 times better if he could just play a simple pass. He can clearly drive the ball forward, but he seems to be doing less of it than when he got here. I remember the game against Tottenham (his first), that was the one thing that really impressed me. His physicality and ability to drive forward with the ball.

Add Sanchez in the deal all parties would be happy 😃 

Is it me or does Cahill look more settled and assured next to Andreas than he does next to Luiz? 

I think the only area that Luiz is ahead of Christensen is his eye for a long pass. But actually, I can't truly tell because Andreas doesn't really attempt them so he might be just as good. He doesn't make risky passes which is one of his strengths. David on the other hand tries his luck with many of those passes per game which are spectacular when they come off but wasteful when they don't.
It's crazy how composed and easy going he is on the pitch. At only 21 he's already a Rolls Royce of a CB which is probably the hardest position to excell at as a young player in the PL. He is what the English media think John Stones is but you know, actually top class. I think Stones is being made to look far better than he actually is due to the ridiculous form his team are in. Because Andreas isn't English or Spanish he's going under the radar.
Must say that'll I'll be a bit sad if Luiz is benched for much of the season going forward, though. I think he and Christensen can play effectively together. While Luiz is really only suited to the central role in a 3 man defense, Christensen can play anywhere. We've just got so much depth at CB now (which is crazy to say after all the complaining we've been doing about the position for months) that it seems like it's one or the other.

Left on his terms like a real man. Even down to the end he kept his dignity and never once embarrassed the club.
And who can blame him for leaving? Four years of working with clowns like Mourinho and Conte would drive anybody crazy. Kudos to him for lasting this long.
He deserves so much better and I'm sure he will be a success wherever he goes.

Couldn't agree more. Whilst I don't read too much what the pundits and press say, I am very surprised how many on this forum think that selling him was the biggest mistake. He was absolutely trolled here for  many his performances.

I am sick and tired of everyone going on and on about selling Matic to Utd. Especially the press and pundits. I personally think there was nothing wrong with the transfer. We got what we wanted in value and I believe Bakayako is by far a better prospect for years to come.
From what I recall he was trolled on this forum after many many inconsistent performances. Many wanted him dropped in favour of Fabregas. Must admit he did have some cracking performances but he was never consistent with awful passing ability,. I believe we have done excellent in this transfer window contrary to what the majority of press and many on this forum. After the burnley Blip we are back in business andI can see another 13+ games unbeaten run on the Horizon. Just a bit concerned about Roma and Athletico in CL, although I am optimistic we will come through finishing second wit 11 points

He is Italian I am sure he would be able to defend. I hope he comes good as I am very concerned about Mosses's final touch. He has been extremely poor in final delivery and most importantly his shots on goal have not been executed well enough. Who knows we may luck out like Alonso

Back when we were linked with Sandro, VVD, Bakayoko and him he was always the least exciting transfer for me. Poor first touch, low football IQ and questionable technique. He has the physical aspects to make the most of counters and to bully some defenders, but he can kiss much of that goodbye now that he will go up against packed defenses.

Also, if it is true that he had been talking with Conte for several weeks about playing for us, and then chose to go to Utd anyway it just shows what kind of loyalty/dedication he has. 
There is no world where I think £100m is good business for him. And I do not even mean that from a commercial perspective, I mean in terms of ROI on the pitch. 

We have a strong team that can support a good striker to get the 20 goals a season. What we need in order to move forward as a club is someone who can get 20 goals, but also make the players around him better. That was never going to be Lukaku. 
I have my concerns about Morata, but there can be no question that he is the one target we have had who would be able to actually improve his teammates. It hurts losing Lukaku to United, if he would have gone to PSG I would care 0%, now it is some prestige lost. Having said that, I honestly believe we are better off without him.

I know people are (very) upset with the delay of our transfers, perhaps there is some truth to us paying for our inertia. I do however believe that there is much we do not know going on behind the scenes.

Would that not be amazing? Great width, while upgrading the parts of the team where we struggled. Pre-season is about to start, and I am a strong believer that it is imperative for a new player to be there in order to have a good start.
If we have not signed at least four of those players within two weeks, you can count me in the "board is fucking up" team, but until then at least I will remain calm about the state of things. Rudiger, Caballero and Bakayoko seem certain, it is the rest where the rush is starting to be felt a bit.

Like Willian, the club shouldn't even consider selling Fabregas. They are both fantastic options to have in the squad.
Cesc, especially is the ultimate Plan B player. There are very few players in Europe with his skill set so it's not like we could go out and get another pass master type guy.

Belloti's the one I'd like for sure. If that can't happen I'd be happy with Morata. Mbappe seems impossible and I've no interest in Lukaku.

Our defence is definitely better than City's not even debatable IMO. The overrating of the City team is crazy. Courtois and Cech are both much better than Hart.
Azpi & Ivanovic are at least both on Zabaleta's level, if not better.
JT/Cahill/Ivanovic combo is better than any combo City can put together IMO. Even though individually Kompany is better, as a pairing our CBs are stronger.
Kolarov might be a fantastic attacking left back but as an all round left back he's distinctively average. Filipe Luis is better, not debatable.
You say City have the best playmaker in the PL? I disagree. Cesc is the best playmaker in the PL in my opinion, Silva is quality but just behind him. Our Matic is better than any DM City have. He would start over both Fernandinho and Fernando if City had him. They do have the best CM in the PL in Yaya however, but he's closely followed by our Cesc IMO.
Give me Hazard over any wide player City (or players that play wide) have (Nasri, Navas).
Up front they have a distinct advantage, but then again Costa would start for them alongside Aguero IMO.
Regarding depth however, it's the over way around IMO. They slightly have more quality on the bench and in their team in general.
As I said before. You're overrating City's first team XI.

I'm talking about technique though you thick bastard. Confidence doesn't make technique suddenly better. For instance I'm a fairly confident guy but can't do an elastico with my left foot and more confidence isn't going to fix that. That's what I'm trying to convey. Confidence will improve composure and all that but I ain't talking about all that.

I believe Chelsea will win this match because :
1) So far, Aston Villa has more home loss than away loss : 8 home loss but only 5 away loss. This season, they had lost to 8 out of the 9 teams in the top half of the table! So, don’t expect the top team in the table to lose.
2) Chelsea is well rested with no mid-week games this week. When Chelsea has one week break, we beat the next team e.g. Man U, Everton, Stoke and Spurs.
3) Chelsea tight defense has let in the least number of goals thus far in the table.
4) If we want to win the league and put pressure on City, we must beat Villa! City played just before us. If they win, we must win to keep up. If City lose, it will be a great opportunity for us to be in the driving seat. Arsenal and Man City are likely to be tired after the CL games this week and we should take advantage in case of any slips up by them. Jose knows we have a better chance to win the EPL because Man City has 3 more games sandwich in-between. The CL has Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
5) Aston Villa’s players know they are not going to be relegated because there will be at least 6 other teams who have less points than them even if they lose this match to Chelsea, so they are not under tremendous pressure. Yes, they beat Norwich in their last game but Norwich has the second worst away goals conceded. (32 goals against Chelsea 13 goals for away games)
