  1. To be honest, I'd take Di Matteo over Mourinho. He hasn't proven himself a genius, what he has done, however, is motivate the players perhaps even better than Jose could. He's also adept at recognising our strengths and playing to them. Jose, while he will always be loved by us, is not Chelsea through and through unlike Di Matteo, either.
  2. An ESPN source? Despite the unreliability of the source I hope its true
  3. Meh. Give me 4-1-4-1, one shot a match any day. I'd much rather have 38 1-0 wins with one shot all match and absolutely no entertainment factor at all, over losing every match 5-3 but playing great attacking football. To be honest, defensive football is just as gripping to watch. That feeling of trepidation you get every time the opposition comes close, fearing there'll be another Iniesta shot in the works... when they surge forward time after time and they're repelled, each time looking more shaky than the last... and then you boot it upfield to Didier Drogba and watch him score. It's the stuff dreams are made of.
  4. Those who say that our victory was unjust/unfair/whatever are utter idiots who are embarrassing themselves. This is sport, not art. In sport, as in virtually every walk of life, guts, determination, resilience and industrious hard work always defeats flair, creativity, precision and technicality. Barcelona, Benfica and Bayern Munich weren't making a fucking sculpture or masterpiece that we decided to bulldoze, no, on the contrary, they were playing a sport with all the skills of an amateur team rather than a team that claimed to be the best in Europe. Fuck off Cruyff, de Boer, Blatter, Rummenigge et al, you know nothing and it is frankly an embarrassment that you achieved so much in the sport with that attitude. When your head is clearly as empty as a(an?) eunuch's underpants it is shocking that you managed to do as well as you did, a real damning indictment on the idiocy of modern humanity if people who are, to use the colloquialism, munted, can get to the pinnacle of humanity.
  5. Layla's right, the authorities always want one of Barcelona or Real Madrid in the final against Manchester United. Obviously they would prefer El Clasico all the time, but Manchester United have a huge fanbase and that brings in a lot of money for UEFA and the TV broadcasters if they get two from those three clubs into the final.
  6. Typical. Asking a Bayern legend to come up with a new rule just after Bayern were beaten on penalties. Like they would ask Chopper, Zola or Jimmy Floyd if Chelsea had lost on penalties
  7. I think it's time for us to give up on him. We won the Champions League and he still didn't comeback to post the obligatory "GET IN" in the post match thread
  8. He has an awful international record, 1 goal in 19. Good scoring record in Russia, but a certain João Alves de Assis Silva had an eerily similar scoring record in Russia, for the same team- 53 appearances, 30 goals vs Doumbia's 53 appearances, 33 goals.
  9. Fuck off, Sepp Blatter, you ain't got no istoree 5 penalties denied and 18 Drogba sending off's That's what we call history.
  10. Haha Well, take out Cech, it's still 8 out of 18, which is quite a figure. Who say's the man doesn't build teams.
  11. Ranieri never worked with him, though, which is why I consider him to be a Jose player.
  12. He was not a passenger, he did more for the team than about 10 players that got medals.
  13. Ferreira can't/won't leave he's still got a year to run and no one's going to buy him. For the record, our CL final squad consisted of the following players, bolded were Jose signings. Cech Bosingwa-Cahill-Luiz-Cole Mikel-Lampard Kalou-Mata-Bertrand Drogba Bench: Turnbull Essien Ferreira Malouda Sturridge Torres Romeu 5, perhaps 6 Jose players will be staying, which is incredible, it's been 5 years since he left!
  14. No, it's not. What are we going to do when we're away to some super team that would normally shit on us and we need a winger who isn't a selfish git? Ramires and Mata, I hear you say; what if ones injured/suspended? Definitely worth keeping as cover, especially ahead of comedy acts like Essien and Malouda.
  15. Nice post, you should consider adding one or two hundred more words and submitting it as an article I do agree though, it is the end of the Mourinho team. We had 9 out of 18 Mourinho signings on the teamsheet at Munich, it's over for most of them barring Bertrand, Ferreira, Cech, Mikel (and Kalou )
  16. Right, he's not good enough as a squad player, but Essien, Turnbull and Malouda are? Back on topic, still not a peep out of the club website. The hope has returned
  17. For all his off and on pitch idiocy, there's no doubt he's a supreme leader. He could probably take the squad to war with him and they wouldn't bat a lid.
  18. You'll swallow something if you stay on the streets for too long All jokes aside, have you contacted government authorities? And what about school?
