  1. For every van Persie, RVN, etc, there's an Afonso Aves or a Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
  2. To be honest, he was twice the player in Holland as he has been here. But all attackers look world class in Holland.
  3. No, I don't think he belongs in this thread. He was a hot prospect but he was never touted as a future superstar who would lead his country to a World Cup win and his club to domination. He was more of an Arjen Robben than a Diego Maradona. This thread is for the Cherno Samba's and Freddy Adu's of the world, who were supposed to do that kind of thing.
  4. I disagree. His lack of consistency is by far his biggest drawback.
  5. Stop going off topic, and discuss the tale of woe that is Cherno Samba's life story.
  6. More on Cherno Samba: http://www.guardian....ewsstory.sport5
  7. Yeah, we're all casual racists in Australia. Shut up Spike ya white cunt
  8. Cherno Samba. Freddy Adu. Neymar (prediction).
  9. I wrote about that: http://www.talkchelsea.net/ex-blues/_/salomon-kalou-r10
  10. The roads you mean? The fans tend to go crazy on Alpe D'Huez. They had 600,000 packed on a 10 km stretch of road at the Alpe D'Huez a few years ago.
  11. It has one of the highest aggregate turnouts in the world. Some 23 million lined the streets to see them go by last year.
  12. Do we have any cycling fans here? Surely I'm not the only one. There's loads of Belgian posters. Anyway, I doubt this will make sense to most of you but I'm delighted to hear that Andy Schleck crashed out of the Criterium du Dauphine and will not be fit in time for the Tour de France, increasing the already high chances of Cadel Evans' defending the Maillot Jaune this year. However, it ruins from the spectacle of the event, as he is a pretty good cyclist and despite being a defensive git for the most part, he would have been forced to turn on his most aggressive mode due to the parcours this year heavily favouring roleurs like Evans and Wiggins, thus forcing climbers to really go for it in the mountains. I reckon we'll have a bit of a snoozefest this year. Two roleurs on a course that heavily favours them, with no real threat. At least Alberto Contador will be back for the Vuelta a Espana.
  13. I don't think a statue is right in the short term. We have to wait until he's at least ended his career. Or we can go down the Levallois route and build "Le Stade Didier Drogba" in London.
  14. As I have said to you before Sloth, I'm never sure when you're serious or trolling
  15. 30. Right backs good at defending are rare these days, it'll be a struggle to replace him.
  16. I can't wait for some delusional Spud to say that Mourinho or Pep are coming in.
  17. I think it's virtually impossible now for a team to defend it's CL crown. May we be the first to prove that wrong!
  18. We all should be behind him. Except for the glory hunters we may have picked up in the last month or so. What's funny is that a lot of rival supporters think he's rubbish and that the team managed itself. Clearly John Terry (who's their answer to every Chelsea 'conspiracy'), with no qualifications and not noted for his intelligence is a better manager than Di Matteo
  19. Goodbye Yids! Have fun back where you belong!
  20. Drogba is ahead of Zola, for me. Zola stood out as an amazing player in a decent team. Drogba stood out as an amazing player in an amazing team. Its harder to stand out when you're surrounded by world class players; than it is when you're clearly a cut above the rest of the team (as was the case with Zola). If I had to rank our strikers: Osgood Drogba Dixon Greaves Bentley Tambling Jimmy Floyd Gudjohnsen Now to get things back on topic: Will Torres ever get anywhere near them? Personally I doubt it.
  21. Speaking is different to signing them. Perhaps Emenalo trusts Di Matteo more than (was it Arnesen in 2009-11?) trusted Ancelotti.
  22. No. Every single signing made by the club since Grant was sacked was made by the Director of Football. The manager basically recommends a position, or if he's lucky, a specific player, the DoF signs him. Ancelotti probably told the DoF in January 2011 that he wanted a striker... little did he know that would be Torres. This is fucking great news. Bye bye Pep, stick your 2-3-5 up your arse.
