Just play Turnbull in midfield, he's a visionary.
-
He's banned because he is a thread-derailing troll intent on winding people up, with obviously nothing better to do with his life.

We are currently experiencing a lot of traffic, so I am putting the boards in performance mode. This means some features may be disabled, but this will prevent the site from crashing. Alex.

Because of the above reason, I have banned the member Rupert. Why? Because he's an idiot and a wind-up merchant. The place is better off without him. I have spoken.

Underestimating Basel is exactly what Spurs did in both legs, and look what happened to them. The arrogance of some Chelsea fans astounds me. Show some fucking respect.

Lukaku > Sturridge. Danny had a point to prove against us, and by scoring, he made it. Fair play to him for not celebrating as well, especially considering how frustrating his time with us was. He has a chance to grow as a player at Liverpool, and good luck to him.

One result and Mourinho doesn't know anything about football... I fully expect Madrid to win in the Bernebeu - whether they go through or not will be seen. José wasn't outdone tactically last night, but his team were poor defensively and Dortmund capitalised.
-
He won't get a ban for a 10th yellow. We've gone well past the amnesty date.

Excellent post. Add Hernandez on to that list (I genuinely think he is a brilliant, brilliant striker) as well. There are great goalscorers and scorers of great goals. At the end of the day, a goal is a goal, so I would rather take 30 Gomez-style tap-ins than 10 Lampard thunderbolts over the course of the season.

I can never recall which one is which... are the "authentic" ones the thick, lextra ones? If so, I prefer the replica ones! I'm pretty sure all megastore-issue shirts these days are done with the thin plastic lettering, though...
-
Yeah, no pressure - just a UEFA Champions League semi-final. A tap-in from two yards is better than a volley from 40 yards that hits the post and goes out. Why? Because it's a goal. Gomez is a target-man; a player to hold the ball up. How often have we been crying out for Drogba to be up there instead of Torres, holding up the play? Furthermore, we need a penalty box poacher. How many times do we see people crossing into the box, or firing across the face of goal and NO-ONE is there? Gomez would be, because that's his instinct. He'd do excellently in England, and with Chelsea in particular.

After (potentially) winning a treble? I don't think so.

Chelsea's captains this season: Terry - 21 games - 10W, 5D, 6L - 48% win ratio. Lampard - 18 games - 10W, 4D, 4L - 56% win ratio. Cech - 21 games - 12W, 4D, 5L - 57% win ratio. Cole - 1 game - 0W, 0D, 1L - 0% win ratio.

^ perfect post. Superb. Was just about to express the exact same view. -

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks that. Our problems seem more to do with mentality (in terms of concentration and belief - so many times we've made careless mistakes, or gone behind and come back to draw or make the score more credible, only then to think if we'd have gone for it from the beginning we might even have won it) than with individual talent (I would go as far as saying some of our players, ie Cech, Azpilicueta, Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Luiz, are amongst the best players in the league in their positions). Just need someone to instil belief - not necessarily a Mourinho (although that would help...), just someone who can inspire the team to win. -

10 points from the last five games will be enough for a top four finish, in my opinion, as long as three of those points are against Spurs. Villa and Swansea are must-wins. United have the league sown up, so hopefully we can sneak a point at Old Trafford. Everton is always a tough one, but they haven't won at Stamford Bridge in a long, long time. I'm not too worried just yet - but if we don't beat Swansea, we're in deep trouble. However, we only really ever play well against the "big" teams, and we're playing three of them. That should get the motivation pumping! -

I don't think yesterday's result will impact on us too much. I said if we get four points from Fulham and Liverpool away (two traditionally tough away matches) I'd be pleased. It's still in our hands. Win against Spurs and its job done. -
Unless he is playing Moses up front on Thursday, I have no idea why RB played Nando yesterday. Makes no sense whatsoever with the fixture pile-up.

He's still got it!

Rafa has to take a lot of the blame for yesterday. Obviously we can point at the referee and ask where the fuck he got six minutes from, and then where he got the extra minute from (as well as why Liverpool still had 11 men on the pitch - Suarez and Shelvey should have been sent off, and although Sturridge apologised as well, "you've seen them given"), but you can't legislate for that. What you can legislate for is a late Liverpool onslaught, and he totally invited it. Why not bring on Terry for a midfielder and close out with three centre-backs? Why not bring Ba in for the ineffectual Torres? Why take off all of our creative players, and then sit deep without an out-ball? Serious tactical fuck-ups yesterday.

Kitbag.com run our megastore. Brilliant website, can't recommend them highly enough. Chelsea Megastore charges commission, basically.

Xpert 11 - are you up to the challenge?

Fair play to X-Rated, absolutely crushed my team 9-1 on aggregate. Very happy to get to the last four considering I have by some distance the weakest squad in the Premier League.
