The black one looks like a training top (looks like there is some sort of acrylic mesh on the underarm which is common with adidas training gear. The white one I am 95% sure is definitely our away shirt, it looks too "formal" to merely be a training kit.

I am writing this message as a notification to the community that the member "Santiago." has been banned. He has been monitored by the staff team for the last ten days, and after a string of complains from several different members (who will remain anonymous), I have taken the decision to permanently remove the member from the boards. I would like to remind all TalkChelsea members have a responsibility to respect their peers on this forum. TalkChelsea has a zero-tolerance policy towards antagonistic behaviour and in this instance, the aforementioned member had received a warning from a senior member of the staff team, only to ignore it. All members should take this as a reminder of the need to act in an adult, civilised fashion for the benefit of all. Alex.

Last season, of all the Premier League teams, Chelsea recouped the most in television revenue in the 2011/12 season. Manchester United were second with £104m, whilst Manchester City's £88m and Arsenal's £85m saw them placed third and fourth respectively. Those figures dwarf the sums amassed by Liverpool £63m (who reached two cup finals, may I remind you) and Tottenham (£62m). You will note the four biggest earners were Champions League performers that campaign. Liverpool and Tottenham enjoyed decent runs in the Europa League, hence the disparity in earnings. This is because the Europa League coverage was sold by UEFA to ESPN and ITV for meagre sums in comparison to the Champions League: Club benefit from the UCL: Chelsea FC, who won the title after a penalty shoot-out at the Fußball Arena München in May, received €59.935m in payments from UEFA. This sum consisted of €29.9m in participation, match and performance bonuses in the group and knockout stages, including the final, as well as €30.035m from the television market pool. In addition, €9m went to Chelsea for their success in the final, while Bayern earned €5.6m as runners-up. Other clubs to earn substantial amounts from the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League were FC Barcelona (€40.550m), AC Milan (€39.864m), Real Madrid CF (€38.434m), Manchester United FC (€35.182m) and FC Internazionale Milano (€31.569m). All of the 32 participating clubs received a minimum €7.2m in accordance with the distribution system. Additionally, performance bonuses were paid in the group stage: sides received €800,000 for every win and €400,000 for every draw. The 16 clubs that reached the round of 16 were each assigned an additional €3m, the eight quarter-finalists an extra €3.3m, and the four semi-finalists a bonus of €4.2m. Source: http://www.uefa.com/uefa/management/finance/news/newsid=1840934.html Importantly, monies from the market pool were distributed according to the proportional value of the national TV market each individual team represented, among other factors, so the amounts given varied from country (or national association) to country - with England and Spain recouping the most in television rights. The Champions League is a money market - one we've missed out on this season. In comparison to the UCL, teams that reach the Europa League last four pocket a total €9 million (with progression via the group stage) - of course we featured briefly in the major competition before finishing third in our group. Yet from the above statistics, it is likely the Blues will have earned roughly €20 million (£17m) in television rights from UEFA this season. Not bad, but not even a third of last season's earnings. We may manage to recoup some money via participation elsewhere - though the Club World Cup has literally no worth beyond a relatively unimportant trophy, the two post-season games against Manchester City may help the club regain some revenue - possibly up to £8 million for those two games alone. Featuring in the Community Shield offers minimal revenue but the UEFA Supercup will have generated €2.3m to add to the kitty. A run to the FA Cup semi-final means we will earn approximately 78% of the television revenue we earned last season, but none of it makes for pleasant reading, does it? All in all, it means we've got little chance of recouping more than £75 million in television revenue this year - a poultry 66% of last season's monster tally, A third-placed finish may win us an additional £3m on what we earned last year, but what this does is highlights just how important the Champions League is to this club. We may well be down a massive £33 million - or more - on television revenues this season. That's the difference between spending big and bringing in another Eden Hazard, or looking at free transfers and signing another Steve Sidwell. Click here to view the article

Neymar must be scared of trying it on in Europe. He is the big fish in a little pond (no offence to the South American leagues which I know are of a very high quality, but not a single person can say they compare to the best teams La Liga, the Bundesliga, the Premier League or Serie A can offer) - I think he's scared he will emulate Robinho and totally flop in Europe.

Been Everton's star player this season, but I don't see how he is a better option at 30 years old than Cahill or David Luiz, who have many years to mature and improve.

Absolutely love Demba Ba. Genuinely think he and Lukaku could form a brilliant partnership in the years to come. We kind of operate without a striker in our current system anyway, so why go and spend £40 million on Cavani or Falcao when neither of them will hit it off here? Our strikers don't get any service whatsoever.

And that's how we have to be with Ryan, in my opinion. Decent utility player in a squad rotation role - but not quite of the standard to be our starting left-back. People on here have totally gotten the wrong end of the stick in regards to what I said of the player (basically my argument is that he should be given a string of games before he is judged, but that I don't think he is good enough to be our permanent left-back and that I feel van Aanholt is a more complete full-back than Bertrand is, and should be given a similar amount of chances next season). Let's be absolutely fair, Ryan has done a decent job in his spell at left-back, but the moment Cole is fit he'll be back on the bench.

  Henrique you do post some utter tripe, that probably tops the lot. Downright disrespectful to a very promising young footballer who had bailed this team out more times than he should have had to in his first season.

Sentiment shared. I think because of that reason Benteke will win the YPotY award.

Juan Mata personally delivers the new kit to a fan who pre-ordered the kit - afterall, it's Blue, what else Matas?

One of the few footballers with his feet on the ground.

Prefer the current anthem jacket with the gold trim, I actually have one and they look fantastic as either a casual jacket unzipped or as a more formal presentation jacket when zipped up. Doesn't look as nice with the white in my opinion, but it is obviously a necessary switch with the change in colourways.

The goalkeeper kit looks fantastic. Looks a lot like the third choice goalkeeper kit we had in the centerary season, and is totally different to anything other that Cech has worn. Thankfully it isn't a flourescent one again - just something different. The home kit is absolutely fantastic though. Not quite as nice as the current gold kit, but certainly on par with anything else they've produced. It's simple and classy. Love it. 9/10.

Some fans think the top four is a trophy. It isn't. It's a necessity.

This has 1-1 written all over it.

DAFUQ! In all fairness Baines is probably the best deliverer of the ball in the English game alongside Ian Harte.
-
^ absolutely. Classy, elegant but simple.

It would be quite nice without the two-tone, admittedly. Nowhere near the quality of the current kit, or the 06/08 shirt, but still nice.
-
It's horrible It's clearly a mix between our 08/09 (yellow piping), 09/10 (straight shoulders and rounded collar) and 11/12 (two-tone blue) kits - if adidas are they devoid of ideas for kits that they have to revert to stealing from outdated ideas then we should sever all ties with them immediately. Adidas have as good as confirmed that this isn't the kit.

Dark blue on royal blue would be fucking amazing, actually...

After scraping a 0-0 draw and then being one the losing side so far this season, a couple of loses against a major rival for next season will do the mindset wonders ahead of next season....

Agree that he will more than likely stay and become a squad player. My defence of the player is that he is nowhere near as bad as what people make out, and as an out-and-out CDM he is the best option we have at present (although I definitely feel Mourinho/Grant/Hiddink's 4-3-3 or Ancelotti's system helped him massively). Definitely need a better option, but he isn't shit as many on here would presume. I'd also be happy to wager that the next manager - José or otherwise - will more than likely include him in their plans for the future. He's a very useful, and experienced, player to have, especially for big games. He was utterly awful yesterday though, totally dominated by Toure and Nasri.
