^ don't worry Ollie, you don't need a Member of the Month title. You're one of the TalkChelsea Originals - the old TC, and then CFC-Fans as well! Legends don't need any recognition, they earned their spurs a long time ago.

And our win ratio with Cech in the team is worse than it is with Turnbull this season, shall we drop him too? Haha, I just said the same thing!
-
Xabi only has one year left on his contract. If we can get him for £10m, for instance, as a two- or three-year option, you can't really say no, can you?

gets my vote.

Superb post. Couldn't agree more. Solid and dependable players are as important as the goal-getters and the flair players.

A class player, but people with ginger beards haven't worked out too well at this club. Plus, he's like fucking ancient. In all seriousness he is the type of the player I would LOVE here but his age is a concern for me. He'll be 32 later this year - how much longer does he have at the top level? Our record of buying class players at such an age is a pretty poor one. We've gambled on ex-Liverpool stars in the past and not one of them has worked out, either. I wouldn't be against signing Xabi but if we're going to bring in a 31 year old and offer him a 3/4 four year deal, and then not offer one to Lampard, our greatest-ever player who is "only" three years his senior, is an insult.

In all fairness, we do a brilliant job with our social media. The offical website is as good as anyone else's in all instances except news, after all The Twitter and Facebook accounts are always being updated with behind-the-scenes footage, player interviews and the like. We do a good job, so credit to the media department. We have become a global brand and in order to fully take advantage of our worldwide popularity you have to appeal on a social level, and in a way that is uniform worldwide. Facebook and Twitter represent that, so to engage with millions of supporters worldwide you have to be pretty darn good at playing the social media market. So, a lot of credit has to go to the hard-working people who sit slaving away in front of monitors every day, giving us and millions of people around the globe access to our common love; this club.

Marko Marin - di Matteo didn't ever fancy him, and he has barely played under Benitez, either. It speaks volumes that the likes of Benayoun and even young Ake are played ahead of him. He'll be gone in the summer, which is a shame because he's not had a chance to impress here - but I don't think he is "Chelsea standard". He seemed to be a panic buy before last Summer as the club thought we were consigned to the Europa League. Either way, he's been a disaster, although not particularly been bad on the pitch when he's played. 3/10 Demba Ba - a very astute signing by the club. We needed a classy striking option instead of Torres, and he has been supplied. It is very difficult to adapt to a new team mid-season, for him to have scored six goals for us already despite being rotated and rested more than half the time is pretty decent in my opinion. A brilliant buy in terms of value-for-money - Demba will be here for three-four years and do a decent job for us, the same as Anelka. Great technically and very strong, we look so much better when he plays. If Benitez didn't have a hard-on for Torres, he'd have played twice the games and probably have netted 10+ goals for us by now. 8/10. Victor Moses - what a great buy. Everyone knows I am a big fan of Moses because of his versatility and his ability to do a job in any attacking position. He also had a good amount of potential and can be an important player on a squad level for us in the future. When you compare his performances to his worth, you would have to agree he has been a good buy in terms of value for money. He's been solid if not spectacular, and his return of 10 goals in 25 starts is respectable for any forward. 7/10. Oscar - one for the future, but he has achieved more in English football than I expected him to this year. 60 appearances in a debut season - actually, in any season, for a club is absolutely incredible, but he still has the same boundless energy he had in his first games. He is capable of the spectacular of course, but just as important is his ability to get stuck in a do a good job for the team. His work ethic is excellent and he uses his body well to shield the ball away from opponents. We haven't even begun to see how good he is in my view, but he hasn't started badly at all, has he? 7/10. Eden Hazard - big things were expected of him, and rightly so for £32 million. He has had a good first season in my opinion. I look at him and think "wow, this guy can be as good as Ronaldo", and he genuinely can. The main thing with EH17 is his team ethic - he is a very selfless person. That makes him different from the Messis, Ronaldos, and even Nanis and Walcotts of this world. It is very rare for a forward player, especially a wide player, to be selfless. He has had a good season overall, although he did tail off around November-January time. But, like little Oscar, we have so much more to see in this guy, and as far as I am concerned his potential is unlimited. Can he become the best player in the world? Yes, in my opinion. Yes he can. That doesn't mean he automatically will, but he has the potential to be a legend in his own right one day. 8/10. Cesar Azpilicueta - my signing of the season. An absolutely inspired transfer. I am a fan of Ligue Un and have seen Azpi play for Marseille over the last two years, and yet I didn't think this was at all going to be a spectacular signing on any account. However, we've found a real gem here. Our right-back position is sorted for the next six-seven years as far as I am concerned. He is a great full-back; if he was English the media would have wanked themselves into a coma over him. He is absolutely unreal - pace, speed, aggression, tenacity, discipline; all the traits of a full-back and he has them in abundance. He has the potential to become our own Philipp Lahm. He is already brilliant defensively, and he will only improve in an offensive sense. Great, great buy. 9/10

Luiz' goal last night was a SSHNDFPOJGESTOGJB W;BBCOJCN APJFN;OVZJSCN\?eF K\SP'M moment, why the fuck do the club do these nominations so fucking early?
-
Absolutely. I think because Moses isn't as "spectacular" as the Three Amigos, people automatically think he is shit. But if you take the amount we signed him for and compare it to his credible performances, you can only agree it was a prudent investment. He is a young man with the potential to be a handy squad player for us in a variety of positions. He also scores a lot of goals - ten goals in your debut season playing out wide and starting only 25 matches is a very impressive feat in my opinion.
-
He had a stinker yesterday. But if he wants to keep on scoring, I won't mind.
-
What an absolute pleasure it was to be right behind the goal for that absolute screamer. Talk about a serious erection...
-
As an aside, Victor Moses was my man of the match. Definitely shutting a lot of negative nancies up at the minute with his performances.
-
Chant of the match was from the MHL when the Basel fans lit up their flares - we were singing "Happy Birthday to You"
-
Putting all the blame on Benitez is ridiculous. He isn't the one who threw two-goal leads away for fun, you can put that one on the players being arrogant, idle, and complacent.

Photos of the new kit at the Bridge: The blue is considerably lighter than the current kit's shade. In bright light, the vertical stripes are quite visible as well. The two-tone blue looks fantastic. The goalie kit is really, really bright, but again an outstanding effort from adidas.

David Luiz for me. He has become our best defender this season, at the same time as showing the ability to do a job in midfield when we need him to. He has contributed some brilliant goals to the cause (the free-kicks against Nordsjaelland and Villa, and the screamer against Fulham immediately spring to mind) and has become an important cog in our attacking machine. But the main reason why I voted him is his on-the-pitch commitment. Even when he has a (very rare) bad game, you can say he tried his best. He gives 110% in every game, and bleeds blue - he cries when we lose and he jumps around with delight when we win. It's like having a fan play for us. He's also a wonderful human being, and definitely a contender for the armband. Absolute geezer and fast becoming one of my favourites at the club. I still do have my doubts about him as he can still be somewhat erratic, but, on the whole, he's had a top, top season.

£45 million and Jovetic and we'll talk.

Had a dream that Lampard scored twice tomorrow and we won the game 3-1. Put money on it now!
-
I'm very confident we'll win the match. Our home form is frankly superb at the minute. 11 wins from the last 13, and the other two being draws. Basel are good and will play with greater freedom tomorrow (I think they were simply over-awed in the first leg, personally), but playing on the counter certainly sets the tie up nicely from our perspective. There will definitely be a few goals tomorrow, I feel. I have a strong inkling that Basel will get a goal, which will automatically mean we will need to score a couple.

STOP TYPING IN CAPITALS! IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE FUCKING ANGRY AT EVERYTHING!

He's coming "home" - although that means he could be returning to Inter or Porto, also. Let's not get carried away. But José has to come back to England for the sake of the poor state of our league. He is generally loved in Britain by the majority of football supporters, and the press can't get enough of him. That would suggest he could be going to any top English club, to me.
