  1. Well other players have been given more shots than him so I think its only fair considering he played maybe 5 or 6 games here before getting injured and going out on loan.
  2. Loan move to Stoke in this Begovic deal is absolutely top class work on both sides I feel. Stoke just lost Nzonzi to Sevilla and Marco can go in there and step up as that player. Brilliant deal in terms of us getting a good number 2 and getting a very promising player a good team to play at. Gives him a platform and hopefully he'll fit in and play easily. Hes very good physically as well as technically so I think he should be a shoe in for them.
  3. I think you misunderstood my point 2, Eden left because he had to make the next step. Sterling doesn't want to work under Rodgers anymore, apparently he'd stay if he wasn't in charge/.... was making a comparison as someone said Hazard came here only for the money or something, where in thery anybody with a brain could see that we would of been his best move as it was where he probably would of had an easier chance on starting from day 1.
  4. Yes but Hazard didn't specifically join Chelsea because of 1) money and 2) he didn't want to work under whoever his manager at Lille was.... Sterling is just digging himself an early grave with the whole Brendan Rodgers is the issue thing.
  5. I dont think hes world class, hes a very good player but not world class. Think that term is thrown around too loosely. I think Pedro would probably just be as good if a regular at another team that isn't Barca, in the same way Cesc has been for us. But lets be real if he was world class would Barca have sold him? Probably not. Not saying that goes for everything but do you think they would sel world class players...
  6. Sanchez a world class superstar? He has only had three good seasons of note, his last one in Italy with Udinese, his last one with Barca and his first one at Arsenal. He was actually quite average a lot of the time at Barca to the point where Barca fans weren't quite always sure what to expect,
  7. Okay Isco is harder to sign but Pedro is a good option, better than Sterling, as well as Willian, Cuadrado and Oscar so hardly like hes a step backwards. And Sterling wont be a superstar ha, cmon please I mean hes English, young and is talented but we've had this before English player X 'rated at 50m' or will be go on and be 'a big superstar'... yawn... Also look at the state of why he apparently wants to leave Liverpool man, he wants to leave because he doesn't want to play under Brendan Rodgers? The guy who picked him every week for the last 3 seasons.... backed him through all this shit that's recently come to light as well... where would he be without that guy? But the whole superstar/next big things talk, the same things were said about Jack Wilshere, Ross Barkley and also Harry Kane, managers and pundits saying that they are worth shit loads of money and are going to be superstars... but none of them are and I don't think any of them will be. Sterlings not even worth 30M never mind 50M. Foreign players are still cheaper and most of the time prove to be better buys. If he weren't English there wouldn't be so much fuss either.
  8. A big time signing? Hes vastly overrated, specifically because hes English.... Would rather we spent 50M on Isco and Pedro than Sterling.
  9. Wouldn't even say Begovic is better than Oblak or Moya either, or if he is it isn't by very much, both are certainly very good goalkeepers.... Agree with your point too, some goalkeepers as stupid as it sounds, go to clubs specifically to be number 2s and win trophies.
  10. Or they don't want to pay too much for him because he doesn't warrant a hefty price tag... despite being on a long term contract... so tells us something doesn't it.
  11. Great deal for them. Pardew is obviously the main reason why hes going there, hes bound to have other options for regular football.
  12. AC Milan look as if they've made some half decent signings since last season. Diego Lopez, Menez, Suso, Poli, Honda, Cerci on loan and now Bacca, Luiz Adriano, Bertolacci.. building a half decent core to their squad. Still a long way to go though they need to keep a coach for more than a year.
  13. The fact Juventus bid £12M or whatever for him says everything you need to know about how his Chelsea career has gone in terms of his development.
  14. Regular? Okay he played a lot when Modric and James were injured but usually only ended up playing out wide as well when Real played that 4-4-2 formation. Hes a number 10, hes better than Oscar, when he gets the ball he makes things happen, even if its just beating a few players and opening up passing lanes to give the ball to other players or retaining the ball in extremely tight areas under pressure, he is too talented to sit on the bench. Sign him up. Who wouldn't want a change where they could be a regular, just look at van der Vaart, Raul, Ozil, Di Maria and now even Casillas is considering leaving Real Madrid... sure they are a huge club but one year you could be the big name then the next year your a bench player, I don't see why so many players decide to go there actually.
  15. Why is everyone saying phew or glad hes signed a new deal. If he isn't good enough to play for us then would Alexis Sanchez not be either? Hes every bit just as good and was in fact better when he played regularly under Pep. We are crying out for a RW after signing the steaming pile of crap that is Cuadrado but all of a sudden Pedro isn't good enough or we should be more ambitious, look for better options? Considering the guy is in his best years, is two footed, plays both sides and has a goal in every 3 games for Barca... I don't know if there are very many better right wingers available these days at such a price. We don't need 17-23 year old players, we need guys who are in their best years, who can improve what we have like we did when we signed Costa and Fabregas last year.
  16. Well those many who would prefer him are obviously daft. Seeing as how Stones has featured more as a right back for England than a center back when guys like Jagielka and Jones play much more regularly in that position than him... also have you considered Cahill is the best English CB that is picked for England.... Stones isn't even better than Chris Smalling who is another one who has he has improved significantly under van Gaal this year.
  17. Firmino was a decent in the Bundesliga but I have no idea about how good he will be for Liverpool. Coutinho is vastly overrated.
  18. People have been saying that since after his first season. If there was more to come from him then we'd have already seen it surely. I don't think he has performed better than his game vs Juventus... in 3 seasons....
  19. If that's 'good news' then I don't know what good news is, hes been one of the most disappointing players we've signed in the last few years that has actually held down a regular spot in my eyes. A number 10 who hasn't been particularly very creative or consistent, if that's good news then... I'm not completely sure. I'm not saying I wouldn't keep him but if it was a good offer for quite a limited player then I'd take it and invest in someone else definitely, there are better 10s out there and even then we don't need to play with a 10 if we go to a 4-3-3.
  20. There's thinking a player is good but then there's blowing smoke out their arse. Hes still nowhere near Chelsea level. He's probably not even the best CM we have out on loan, I'd comfortably say van Ginkel is. There's no point arguing this though but I think most would agree that hes not at Chelsea level just now. I don't see why you say if he were English he'd probably be playing ahead of Mikel or Ramires, when both didn't really play as much as they have before as both of their roles were actually minimized due to the Matic-Fabregas combination in the middle of the park.
  21. They've already signed Khedira, Dybala, Mandzukic and Rugani and will no doubt keep on recruiting to replace Vidal, Ogbonna and whoever as well if they lose them. They aren't going to struggle considering Mandzukic and Khedira are top players and they also have that young winger/striker Berardi on their books who looks a pretty decent player as well as the recently signed Dybala who is promising. They have always recruited and replaced well since returning to Serie A. If we get rid of Ramires or Oscar and reverted to a 4-3-3 I'd take him here.
  22. Yeah I've heard hes a better footballer than Nathan so if hes shit then its fair to say Nathan wasn't worth buying either isn't it.
  23. You clearly underrate him. He oozes class, sure he didn't score a lot of goals or have lots of assists this season that just finished but his general play and understanding of playing for the team is huge. The season Atletico won the league he was brilliant, hes a leader, basically all the games Atletico play against Real Madrid he is always trusted with the role of man marking Ronaldo which he does pretty well considering Ronaldo is a world class player and also a freak athlete. I'd have him here in a heart beat, I remember when we were linked with him in 2011 under AVB, he was a promising younger player but didn't quite have the work rate, discipline or tenacity to play at a top team, he clearly does now and I would take him. Hes clearly a better footballer than Willian, Oscar and Cuadrado.
  24. Wouldn't be a bad move if he got games there.
