Wasn't an issue when we had a 30M Sheva or Joe Cole or Ballack on the bench years ago or even Cech on the bench last year. If we can get very good players to boost the squad I am all for it, creates more competition and we might actually see some rotation. I bet Jose is reluctant to rotate players like Matic too regularly for guys like Ruben.

True but I liked him playing RB in the CL with Baba on the left although Ivanovic did improve on his return to the team v Arsenal so as long as Baba plays on the left I'm not fussed who plays on the right.
-
I think the one thing when Oscar plays for us is that the midfield players link better together, he usually is key to that but he still needs to improve his goals/assists and also at times he can still have a better impact on games.
-
Would be nice to see Begovic Azpi Zouma JT Baba Cesc Ruben Pedro/Traore Oscar Kenedy Falcao/Remy
-
He is comfortably better than all 3 of them and a different sort of midfield player, hes genuinely able to play as a defensive midfielder unlike Marco and Ruben who are probably better as box to box players. Not too sure about Chalobah, don't think he has a chance of making it here now. Would take him, think hes still got to improve in certain aspects but I seen him at Celtic and he was always a huge talent, playing him next to Matic would be awesome. He cost Celtic 900K, they sold him for about 13 or 14 M or something.. crazy.

Well you don't win trophies with a squad of 25 nice, friendly, non aggressive, not willing to step over the line at times players. You need a few provocative bastards in there. Ivanovic, Matic, JT, heck even Ramires and Costa aren't exactly angels. You wont win much with a squad of 25 Mikel Artetas or 25 Joe Allens.
-
Ok we never really had the chance to sign any of them in the past and now we certainly don't at all so please name me a striker as good as those 3 who isn't a cunt and would be better than Costa..... without actually naming those 3? You can't do it really. Benzema maybe but even then he blows hot and cold and when it gets tough for Madrid hes never anywhere to be seen.
-
Haha yeah... But to put it into context: if you asked any Liverpool fans about Suarez they just talk about his goals and how good he was, not his racism charge, not him biting people, not him sticking his finger up to Fulham fans, not him diving, not him being a bit of a cunt when he wanted to be. Or Man United fans about Cantona... I know this is Liverpool and United we are talking about but again I'd have taken Suarez here despite the baggage because hes brilliant and I'm sure back in the days we would have been very happy to get Cantona too. Costa top player, best CF we've had in years, plays on edge yes but end of the day who could we replace him with? There aren't very many high level strikers out there these days.
-
Okay lets bring back Torres and sell Costa and go back to the good old days of having a little bitch upfront who was pretty much useless in games where they got a bit more physical or gritty. The one solution to solve this.
-
People are saying if we kept him in January... its not like he'd of been in our first 11 then to be fair...lets be honest here, the picture was pretty clear after that cup game and when he was told to train with the kids. He had Mata, Schurrle, Oscar, Hazard, Willian to compete with. Mata made a slightly miraculous recovery - well if you'll call it that, although he didn't feature that much as many, myself included, hoped he would - after it seemed he was deemed surplus to requirements and would be moved on, where as Kev didn't, could have stayed but didn't (the same with Mata). I doubt Jose regrets selling him/not playing him because he was a different player in 2013/14 than he is now.
-
Good players have been cunts before. Eric Cantona was regarded a top top player and he had baggage and even now a days Suarez is the same. Nobody gave a shit when he was winding people up last year because he was scoring goals, just because hes not scoring goals doesn't mean hes not doing stuff, when hes absolutely useless and doing it yes but his performance was actually good against Arsenal for me. He does react but also some players target him, he stands up to it and if he goes over the top well fuck it other players have also done that so its not like hes the first guy to do so. If you look at it as well, getting Arsenal down to 10 men obviously wasn't anybodies intentions but it helped swing the game in our favor even more.
-
Haha I hope you know this name is just for a bit of a laugh mate! Thing is also with Salah, Schurrle, whoever else... they've never been key men here and we've never really missed them. Although I don't like saying it we dont really miss Mata either so I am still behind Mourinho's decision to let Kevin go.
-
Probably one of his best games for us yet to be honest despite no goal I thought. His movement was excellent, he ran the channels, held it well, pressed and ultimately put himself about which maybe he did too well but you wouldn't change him for anybody except maybe Lewandowski, Aguero or Suarez. He is vital to this team.
-
Are people still going on about this... who cares? We didn't need him then and we didn't need him to win the title the year after. We have Hazard, Pedro, Oscar, Willian... we are more than capable in attack, its not like we still have Malouda and Kalou. If people are still so worried about how Mourinho treated Kevin or Kevin's form or whatever then they are supporting the wrong team. Hes a good player but not irreplaceable and we still have the best player in the league (also best Belgian) so we shouldn't be overly worried. Its the same with the Sturridge, Lukaku, Luiz and whatever ex players threads, we haven't really sold anyone who was irreplaceable in modern times.
-
Hopefully see 4231 with Cesc-Matic in the pivot, Oscar as the 10, Costa upfront. We aren't going to get physically dominated or overrun in the midfield by Arsenal if we have those 3 in the team. Pedro if he is fit must start too. Can see us winning this one even playing shite, Arsenal always seem to struggle against us despite the Charity Shield game but still.
-
Played not too bad, final ball still has to be a bit better in some situations, that free kick he took in the first half was horrendous too but hopefully he can get a game vs Arsenal. Could see him doing good against Oxlade-Chamberlain and exposing him defensively as well. Only one game but he looked promising.
-
What does it matter? If your positioning and reading of the game is as good as JTs you can play with anyone at full back. Also Matic plays a big part too he covers a good bit of that left side in front of JT and Azpi at times.
-
Matic > Kondogbia. In every aspect. He looked piss poor in the Milan derby for me apart from the times where he had space to run into in a counter attacking situation but even then his decision making was iffy. I feel Inter have the least creative midfield in Serie A out of the bigger teams. Melo, Kondogbia and Guarin are all more box to box/holding players with better physical attributes than technical attributes... without Perisic and Jovetic playing they will struggle to create chances and even then Perisic wasn't at it last night and only Jovetic looked bright for them in patches,. They will be alright defensively this year though I think.

Now is the chance to try out Baba at LB in my eyes... Wouldn't mind seeing this Begovic Azpilicueta - Zouma - Terry - Baba Ramires - Matic - Cesc Pedro - Costa/Remy/Falcao - Hazard
-
Cech has always been class but he was never really as good as he was before his head injury I feel. Wouldn't say Begovic is better than him either though. Anyway as long as Begovic realizes as soon as Courtois is fit hes gonna be dropped its all good. Courtois is the best keeper in the league in my eyes.

Can't see why anyone is actually bothered about Roberto Martinez, when you consider he was a shite footballer who didn't do very much and has been a pretty shite manager who hasn't done very much, hes won an FA cup after getting Wigan relegated. Hes a nobody, let him talk to the media about him singing in the shower... his best achievement apart from his first season at Everton, has been dwarfed hugely since by Brendan Rodgers, Michael Laudrup and now Gary Monk at Swansea. I don't see the hype of why he is the next big manager... As for John Stones, no longer worried if he comes here or not, had his chance why didn't he not just do a Gallas and force his exit through. Who cares what Everton fans thinks if you want to play for Chelsea.
-
Chelsea 2 Everton 0 Back to winning ways, hopefully wipe the floor with them and have everyone complaining how we didn't score more, would be nice for once. Costa to show them who's boss.
-
Back 3 would be suicide in England I think, you lose a bit of protection in the wings when you have a wing back on each side and 3 center backs as opposed to a full back and a winger in front on each side. Look at when United played it last year, the amount of space out wide that was left for opposition teams to exploit.
-
Herrera is quite a complete MF player tbf so thats not that bad, he had great defensive stats in his last year at Bilbao as well as his attacking stats which were more than decent enough. I would of taken Herrera here to be fair but not over Fabregas, to play in a 3 with Matic and Fabregas.

Anyone else think Jonjo Shelvey has a real chance of cementing his place in the England team? Looked good so far in the PL and not out of place either in the England team. Shocked Carrick doesn't get a game though. Like even the 2014 WC, imagine starting Gerrard over Carrick... to play as a deep lying midfielder....
