  1. You have just exposed the hypocrisy and double standard on this forum which is sadly part of human nature. While I admitted that Oscar has shown improvement this season, he's still not this fantastic player who's miles better than Willian that everyone keeps referring to. In majority of the games this season, Willian hasn't been any worse than oscar but one thing I will say is that considering willian is so much more talented than oscar, he should be doing much better as He's arguably our most technically gifted player after Hazard.
  2. We have an exact replica of him in our reserve team and his name his Charlie colkett. Hopefully his career doesn't end up like Josh's.
  3. This is hilarious. Did some posters on here actually expect us to go the entire season unbeaten? historically speaken, the eventual league winner's form is usually 4 or 5 winning streak accompanied by either a draw or defeat followed by another winning streak throughout the season and occassionally hit a bad run of form where they only win like 2 games out of 5 or 6. That's how it's always been, even the invincibles drew many games and dropped alot of point (24 to be precise) despite going the entire season unbeaten. There's absolutely no reason to panic as far as I'm concerned, not yet anyway. this is the premier leeague and all teams will drop points every other week, the title will be determined by which team drops the fewest number of points. I can guarantee that the eventual winner this year will drop atleast 22 points. so far we have only dropped 9 points. so we are still on the right track, until the wheels actually fall off, I see no reason to panic.
  4. The concerns some of us expressed prior to the signing of Costa is now finally rising to the surface: His average technical ability hinders him from contributing to the attack in various other ways and particularly prevents him from being a solution against parked defences. On one hand, he's a goal machine who has scored consistently for us and on the otherhand, he's a hinderance and rather ineffective against teams that set up defensively against us. I also feel alot of his turnovers can easily be avoided if he would play it safe and simple instead of dwelling on the ball. Haven't said that it's difficult to criticise a player that has been as prolific has he has been, his flaws can be overlooked for this reason. If his mini goal drought continues however, he has to be dropped for Remy or Drogba. A technical striker in the mould of Aguero/suarez/zlatan is what this team needs ideally but they are very rare. hopefully we are able to unearth one someday.
  5. This is just a bad era for defenders. Even the supposedly world class defenders like Benatia,Silva,Hummels are struggling. In the last 4 seasons I can't point to any defender that has played at elite level for 4 straight seasons. One good/great season is usually accompanied by a terrible one for overwhelming majority of defenders and Kompany is the epitome of that. Cahill is simply following the trend.
  6. This is why I sometimes avoid forums in general. How is the statement in bold relevant to what excalibur just wrote? is he asking for Jose's head or simply criticising what he feels was an error in judgement that contributed to us losing this game. what's the essence of a forum if not to discuss football matters both positive and negative?
  7. Cahill has been piss poor this game and for much of this season. He has to be dropped. . .enough is enough
  8. Costa is in a festive mood. Gifting newcastle posession left and right
  9. Serious question. are you this daft or just intentionally playing stupid because i refuse to believe anyone can be this thick. Even after i explained the term in bold you still went on foaming in the mouth. By now anyone with half a brain would have recognised that the comment in bold is referring to lampard the person rather than lampard the legend which are two totally different things. He remains a legend because there's no way to erase his accomplishment from the club's history i.e our alltime goal scorer, the trophies he's won etc (Lampard the legend) however his decision to join city has made him very unlikeable and made some fans lose respect for him hence lampard the person. Is it so hard a concept to grasp?. Even those that have been attacking his legacy still recognise his status as a chelsea legend but are simply saying that status now has asterisk next to it. . . .A legend that betrayed his own fans and went back on his words as oppose to a legend like Drogba, a man of integrity and great character who considers the club and its fans in his football decision making process.
  10. What's funny? I will tell you what I find funny though and that's your abysmal reading comprehension skills It's simple, before lampard joined City, He was held by most/all in a very high moral regard and esteem, he was viewed as an ambassador of the club and someone who loves and respects the club and its fans enough to never join a rival club under any circumstances as a matter of principle. By joining City, some who saw him as a man of principle and honor were justifiably let down and it's That perception of him, hence " as a Person/character wise" has been tainted but his legacy as a legend which is based on what he achieved at the club remains intact. Doing something that will hurt the feelings of "loved ones" knowingly like joining a rival club isn't an action or character trait synonymous with honorable people with priniciples. Some things are bigger in life than ambition.
  11. Anyone who still thinks lampard's reputation hasn't been tainted in the eyes of some Chelsea fans is either living in denial or just plain delusional. There's no justifaction for what he did and while his reputation has a legend will remain (nothing can change that), Some (if not most) fans perception of him as a person/character wise is definitely tainted and some will never view lampard the same again. That's for sure.
  12. Some posters are ridiculous and just find it fashionable to bash Willian unjustifiably. he was our only attacking threat against sunderland and was unlucky not to be on the scoresheet. There have been numerous games this seasons where he has played reasonably well only to log in to the forum and see barrade of "He was poor again", "Bad decision making" bla bla bla. He needs to score and assist more but majority of the post match criticism on his thread this season as been very harsh indeed and this is coming from someone who isn't easily impressed.
  13. Ferguson and Guardiola said the most dificult aspect of coaching is the ability to sustain the motivation level in players who have won multiple trophies at the same club and it's no wonder why most successful managers usually struggle in their 3rd or 4th season at the same club regardless of the resources. Guardiola admitted he left barca because he could no longer motivate them to win and felt they needed fresh ideas. the same thing has happened to wenger for the better part of a decade. Jose too has usually struggled in his 3rd season with Chelsea and Real madrid and this is why I consider Ferguson as the greatest manager to ever live. His ability to motivate his team year after year and rebuild winning teams that sustains a ridiculously level of success is remarkable. Klopp needs to leave as his work there is done unfortunately.
  14. I don't know what's funnier. Some posters believing or even entertaining this clearly bogus and unbelievable rumour or people having reservations and debating whether one of (if not THE) greatest players of all time still in his prime would be a right fit for us. Just trying to picture the argument in my mind. . . . Messi is on the verge of joining chelsea TC posters: No thanks we have got Schurrle, willian and the Egyptian messi, plus he doesn't track back. How ridiculous does that sound. This forum is comic relief sometimes.
  15. Jose never dislike anyone from a professional standpoint for no reason. Rafa (for obvious reasons), Pep (He was denied the barca job because of him and was his biggest and main rival in spain) Pelegrini( Jose hated him because he secceeded him at madrid and the comparisons which were drawn by the media infuriated him) Mancini (Jose, again like Pellegrini, took over from him and the media compared their achievements at inter when Jose had a disappointing champions league campaign in his first season there), Wenger (The reigning manager in the epl before jose took over and their rivalry between 2004-07 has been reignited with his return to the league). What's the common denominator here? These managers have all either been very successful and seen as rivals or were succeeded by Jose. How many unsuccesful/irrelevant managers and/or managers with no ties to the club he has managed does he hate. There's a clear and undeniable pattern here. How come he doesn't hate Ruud Gullit or Glen Hoddle or Vialli, perhaps because they didn't win the trophy that he has been unable to win at Chelsea and therefore as no reason to be insecure towards them. Ferguson was the only exception here because he's always respected him depsite being a hugely successful rival manager.
  16. This is what I suspect is going on also. His tone when asked about di matteo and overall desposition towards him leads me to one conclusion that Jose doesn't like Di matteo and there's no other logical reason for it other than jealousy. I bet he feels the same way towards Ancelotti for achieving what he couldn't i.e deliver real madrid the La decima.
  17. I will go even further and say Roberto carlos was just a better and glorified version of marcelo and fullbacks of that ilk i.e gained all the accolades because of his attacking attribute (blistering pace, shooting power and technique, free kicks etc) but very suspect defensively. Irwin on the otherhand was great on both ends of the pitch.
  18. After the realisation of how shit Torres is dawns on Costa,This will be his reaction everytime Torres gets the ball in a dangerous area
  19. Hopefully he is able to perform the greatest miracle of all and turn him into a big game player.
  20. It would be absolutely criminal if one of Sanchez or Aguero doesn't win it. either that or one of the outstanding Southampton lads for their remarkable achievement so far.
  21. The modern day Redondo. His consistency is quite staggering
  22. Without even checking the facts, he must be one of the most efficient players in Europe this season surely. i would love to see his goals and assist per minute ratio
  23. Drogba, even at 36, has a significantly better hold up and link up play than Costa. there I said it.
  24. This is what confidence can do to you. we have been playing with swag and style lately
