Hazard is fucking ridiculous. Best player by a mile when he came on. He made those defenders look like I was out there trying to mark him.

Eden was unreal today. Making defenders look like training dummies. When he truly tries like he did today there isn't a better dribbler on the planet. He just effortlessly explodes past players. He and Messi are very similar in that aspect.

So what's that, the second or third time Zouma has been caught ball watching and left his man unmarked? Has all the tools but is still so raw and undisciplined. Schürrle has been the only bright spark for us in attack that half. He's sprinting and trying his heart out but there's zero creativity in this lineup. Like many times last season, we get the ball in the final third and play grinds to a halt and our guys start going at walking pace. Players just standing rand and hoping something happens. It's so easy to defend against that and it's infuriating to watch. This is why we need Hazard and Cesc to hit the ground running next week.

This is essentially Arsenal's best XI minus Özil and Mertesacker vs a City squad who look like they can't be bothered and are playing their second team. Arsenal don't look that impressive, really, and their defense and CM still look iffy and I can see us dominating them in those areas again. I think it'll be a typical Arsenal season once more. They'll shit on all of the poor-good sides but really struggle against the big boys. I think 2nd-3rd is their ceiling. They don't have quite enough yet to win it all. If they can add a proper DM and a new striker then I'd have to put them right there as co-favorites.

With Real Madrid getting rid of Lopez and with Casillas being past it I'm sort of shocked that they didn't hold off on buying Navas and make a hard push for Cech seeing as Carlo knows him well and worked with him here. We could've worked some sort of Cech + cash deal for Di Maria.

When he's in the zone he's a joy to watch. Hopefully he can keep it up. He's got such a weird and awkward style with the ball. It's hard to explain but it always appears as though he's not completely under control of the ball yet he's still effective at beating people in 1 on 1's.

+ Diego Costa is awesome + Matic was great as usual + Fabregas looked much better deeper and should always play there + Hazard steadily getting sharper + Filipe Luis looked great defensively - Ramires still can't go for 30 seconds without fouling - Cahill was all over the place - Filipe Luis isn't quite there yet going forward - Our defending overall is pretty worrying in preseason

I highly doubt we'd have spent £16-20m on a 29 year old that wasn't going straight into the first XI. It is very strange that he isn't starting here, though.

Maybe, depending on the opponent, José will deploy a "power" back four with Ivanovic or a "finesse" one with Luis? I'm probably reading into it too much but José adores Ivanovic and it was most likely wrong to assume he'd just automatically be a squad player after Luis' arrival.

Hope this isn't an indication that José still sees Ivanovic as first choice RB. Luis needs as much time as possible with the back four to settle in and he's been subbed out regularly and now doesn't start.

Have a feeling that José has and will continue to speak to him about the fact that opposition managers will be instructing their players to wind him up and get under his skin. He'll be telling Costa constantly not to lose his head.

Wow, that video above makes him look like a world class beast. I really like Willian and honestly, if he just works on his end product and decisiveness in the final third he'd go from a very good player which he is now to a great one. Actually wouldn't mind him competing with Oscar for the #10 spot so that Schürrle can lock down the RW.
