i remember a counter of him when willian and hazard played some 1-2s and then the ball came to costa. he just stopped running, let lucas and can get back, all momentim lost.
another incident in the first half when willian played a good ball to him, changing the flank. tried to do something stupid with it and the ball went for a goal kick. spent the next 5 minutes trying to show the ref that skrtel apparently hurt his tooth.
again, hopeleslly por in air, poor on the ball and off it. i mean, poor. nothing more to say.

Lmao i knew thisd thread will be hot again. You guys are pathetic, really, really sad. He was on the pitch for about 20 minutes has had a few opportunities to score, he got the opportunities because he made great runs and his movement was good. The first one, Buffon stayed up and didn't sell himself, was good goalkeeping. The occasion when he wanted to pass back, he didn't do much wrong but the movement from the other guy was shit and gave him only that pass to play. Was never gonna get through and the 3rd occasion Buffon came out, the chip was just very unlucky. If he had played the whole game, he woulda had more chances and probably scored. Can't believe this thread get all active because he missed a chance. Unbelievable. He did a lot in those 20 minutes.

I wonder whether he can come back on loan for a few months, like Henry did... if we're playing Arsenal or Barca in knockout cup...

I edited my post heavily in meanwhile. I agree and don't agree that he is the greatest.. I just refuse to rank them in order, as it would disrespect the lower placed players, but in truth I don't feel any of them were less important than the other and I feel affection for all of them. They always complimented each other and said they couldn't have done it without them, so it's only natural to carve the whole group as "the best" ever.
Also Dids and Lamps perfected one another so well, they truly were the perfect partnership. If I'm going to name Drogba as the greatest, then I will take Lampsy up with him. In words of Term X, he is a phenomenon and so is Lampard.
About JT. He's an exceptional player 'cause he's the only one who is from youth academy. He's Chelsea since little boy. Him and Lampard were in the club when we weren't exactly in the bestest of positions. Drogba would never have come here if it wasn't for Roman's money and Mourinho, at first he was even disgusted for joining us. In that sense, Lampard's and Terry's roots extend longer and deeper. JT and Cech also almost literally died for the team, had it happened we'd be singing a different song. But in terms of gaming impact, Drogba is right up there with them and generally he's a big human being with his philanthropy.

Not too bothered about the fact he's moving to China instead of Europe for the bigger wage..
Most of the money will go straight to his 'Didier Drogba foundation' anyway, helping kids in africa.

I dont think so. He just came and said what he is feelling. RDM made a mistake when Kalou started over him, and made a mistake when he was not selected to take a penalty (Mata wasnt fit for it, it was clear he would lost).
Torres had a difficult season, and after he said "And especially to the fans, if it hadn't been for them this season I would have given up." I think is not fair to say "fuck off".
He is 100% right. He must know whats next for him at Chelsea. I think if the club sees him as just another good striker in the squad, then its better for him and for the club to leave. He already won an UCL with us, after all, and played a huge part on it.

In one way I sympathize with Torres, he is a household name who we signed for a British transfer record sum of 50 million pound, he was expected to slot into the Chelsea team and replace Drogba and everything would be great. We all know that that isn't how it worked out, for a number of reasons. His own fitness, his loss of the explosive pace he had previously, his difficulty in fitting into a rigid Chelsea system and the heavy competition from Drogba (all of which led to him losing confidence) meant that he became a source of ridicule worldwide, it must have been really difficult for him.
That being said, his form has improved in the last couple of months, he has regained some of the confidence that was lost, he looks sharper and he looks quicker than he did in his early Chelsea days. That being said, nobody expected him to start ahead of Drogba last night, I doubt he expected to start ahead of Drogba, in a way I suppose that must be a blow to him, to go from being considered one of the greatest strikers in the world to now not even being a serious threat to the 34 year old Ivorian's place. He might have expected to start alongside Drogba or on the right wing but given that our mission was to contain, that was never going to happen from the start.
What does the future hold? Drogba wont be here forever, he cant start week in week out, if Torres hangs around (and assuming we dont sign a world class striker) then he will probably be first choice for much of the domestic campaign next season. However if Drogba sticks around then what happens next season if we get into a Champions League final again (touch wood), does the manager choose a Torres who has been playing every week or does he pick the ultimate big-game performer in Drogba? Torres is in the prime years of his career, he wants to be the main man in these big showpiece games, playing second fiddle has never been part of the plan for Fernando and that is why I think these talks between Torres and the club are a good idea because I think it is important that he gets clarification of his role next season.
Personally Id love him to stay, I think he is still an excellent player who, in the right system, could be an ideal replacement for Drogba (big ask) but if he is told that Drogba will still be the main man on the big occasion or that we will be in the market for a top quality striker then it probably would be better for him to leave.

I see nothing wrong here.Torres is big name, big player he wants to be valued and apreciated and be valued not only by the fans, but by his teammates and manager.Just like Didier Drogba is right now, everybody is talking about Drogba man of the match, hero, legend etc.I see nothing wrong with a MAN (who has proven his talent, unlike fellas like Sturridge) who is confident in himself to standout and say that he isn't happy as a reserve. What i think is that he just want a real chance to prove himself, not like before when he was surrounded by vultures around him like Malouda, Sturridge who would rather die then pass to him and a beast on the touchline, ready to take his role if given the chance.I actually like his attitude he either be given the chance (but real chance) to be our number 1 or just sell him.And about the time, well this is the right time actually he is sharing his thoughts and desires before Drogba (eventually) is given a new contract and before we have a new manager.

Inspiring, over both legs the great man was nothing short of inspirational. Last night he was everywhere, up front, left wing, right wing, left back, right back, made some absolutely vital defensive headers from set pieces (the one where Puyol got the run on him was nothing short of breathtaking). I said it after the first leg and I will say it again, for me, he will go down in history as Chelsea's greatest ever player, a remarkable mix of physicality, technique and character.

Drogbas reaction after JT got sent off he rallied the players trying to get them to keep their cool & raise their game. Didier's performance throughout both legs was truly one of a king. He deserves to win a CL medal at this club if it's the last thing he does in a blue shirt.
