Id rather have Mata than Bale or Ibrahimovic, those 2 are so over-rated its untrue. Mata is having a better first season than Silva, whats to say he can't progress into a world class player in the next 2 years, But then having said that i'd rather we entered next season like 04/05 with a bunch of borderline world class players that will grow.

Most of Luiz's "silly mistakes" have came when playing with Bosingwa to his right, even Alex looked shite when Bosingwa was next to him infact every time Ivanovic is in the centre with Bosingwa next to him he doesnt look good either. For example the error he made against Pompey which led to JT clearing off the line he was in the RB position, where was Bosingwa? The yellow he picked up against Sunderland was for covering Bosingwa's lost ground. He's not a miracle worker whenever he plays with Bosingwa he is as good as up against 2 players and most of the time he deals with that fine, whenever we have Ivanovic at right back next to Luiz meaning he only has to worry about one man he is virtually unplayable. Luiz gets scapegoated far too much for me, you only need to look at the difference in reaction to when Luiz gave away a pen at QPR (his first bad moment after being solid all season before then) and Alex doing the same against Fulham. Alex and Ivanovic have made more errors this season, do you remember Alex putting Zola in the shade with his touch that put Shane Long through on goal? Has Luiz done anything nearly as bad at that? Ok occasionaly he can be a bit reckless and might cost us a goal every now and again (no more than any other defender) but i am sure a lot of the goals we have conceded this season when he hasnt played (especially against Arsenal) would have been prevented had he been on the pitch. We have a fantastic defender who is only going to get better and deep down the media and clueless opposition fans know it (PS Spurs fans think Kaboul and Dawson are better than him )

It is amazing the power the media has to even turn our opinions of DL4. If the media kept bleting on about Zola being a Chelsea flop, some would buy it hook line and sinker and call him it

We should have slowly started rebuilding after 2006/2007 in my opinion, not extreme changes but one or two players each season. Royston Drenthe was one of the hottest properties in Europe back in 2007 (Madrid ruined him), he should have been the direct replacement for Robben and who knows with us he could have realised the potential he had back then and right now we would have had a fantastic winger. We could have signed David Luiz as a 19 year old back then, loaned him into Portugal for a couple of season's then came back to us a ready made superstar, would have saved us £20m. Then in 2008 instead of signing a 31 year old Deco we should have signed Modric, back then he would surely have choose us over Spurs. A couple of those type of signing's each season we would have been in a great position right now. We should also sell players at the right time, after the double winning season and the form some of the ageing players were in we could have got a lot more than we should have for those players. Cole (a 29 year old fullback) was subject of a £29m bid from Real Madrid, we should have snapped Jose's hand off and got a younger, hungrier Conentrao with that money. Drogba was apparently wanted by City for £20m as a 33 year old, as much off a legend Drog is, it would have been a fansastic piece of buisness, Malouda given the form he was in we could have got £15m for, so thats £35m for 2 players over 30, we could have used that money to sign Aguero. In future we need to do clever things like this toprevent us stagnating again.

Sometimes its not a nessesity to have world class players in the side, Makelele aside who was renound as world class in our 2004/2005 side? at the time that is i know Robben, Drogba and Lamps have turned that way since. The trick was we had players that worked for eachother and toed in line with the new era, and we need to do that again, we have the core players now we just need to build around that. The trick in 2004 was we let go every player older than Makelele and replaced them with young hungry talent, we need to do the same again, so every one older than JT and Cole should be let go for the good of the future success. Lampard (legend but he is never going to accept a lesser role), Malouda, Hilario, Ferreira, andBosingwa should be let go and replaced by young, hungry, talent with everything to prove. We don't need world class players nesseserily, like in 2004 we need a mi of young, hungry players with world class potential (Robben, Tiago) and talented players with good teamwork values (Duff) thats why i think Sessengon will be a good signing for us. Pacy player not world class but got good team work values, could compliment a Hazard type player that Duff did for Robben. But basically next season we need to start building a spine of Cech/Courtious, Luiz, Ramiress, Mata, and build a formidable TEAM around it.

It has been PL rules for a while now that players cant play against their parent club, before that it was upto the respective club loaning the player out, i remember Wenger use to let his loan players turn out against him.
-
Id happily do it, but if someone who has been active longer than me wants to instead like lDN they can. But if no one else will i do it if u like
-
I have only ever conceded 4 league goals at home since i joined at season 3. Freindly's however are a completely different kettle of fish, you get some crazy results there.
-
Why have you given it up? didn't expect you too. Beat UpTheChels 2-0 earlier, didnt expect too tbf, with me facing Blue Bulls and UpTheChels up against Kronenberg next the promotion race will really start to take shape.
-
Ive said this before, in the summer all the players older than Terry and Cole with the possible exeption of Lampard need to go to let the younger ones "spread their wings" so to speak.
-
Hopefully we can still end up making ground on Arsenal and Spurs. Lukaku looked lively today but its clear what we need to do with this guy, get him in the fucking box and he will score goals, its as simple as that.
-
Again Bosingwa as good as leaves Luiz against 2 players and again he palys a blinder. Just wait until he stops being a liability no one will score past us.
-
The sooner that Marsielle RB signs the bettter.

We should focus on a potential late assault at the Manc clubs later on in the season. Right now we should be focusing on making clear daylight on Arsenal then gazumping the Spuds for once and for all, after that we could think about a possible assault on the Manc clubs, lets focus on seeing off the pair of North London wankers first.
-
Cant loose too much on this lad, if he doesn't progress like we hope we can get most of what we paid back for him elsewhere but if he does reach his potential we have one hell of a bargain on our hands.

Bar a couple of sensatinal season's from Didier (06/07 and 09/10) we haven't really had a on form firing forward since JFH, the trick is everyone's a forward and when we do get a forward on top form like Didier the season before last, we hit a new level (103 goals) with Drogba scoring 27 league goals and 37 in all comps and despite that we still won every match he didn't play. I would hate the day were our team becomes reliant on one player.
-
Atleast this shows AVB is thinking forward and not just the here and now. In Andre i trust!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I dont get why he gets slagged off for the Villa match? what did he actually do wrong? get outjumped by Heskey? wow even Drogba and John Terry have fallen victim on that score in the past.
-
I could do a video blog every now and again, reading opinions on this forum and giving my reaction to them, is that the kind off thing your looking for?
-
We will never so until we try so why not? I probally have too much on to present it/be a regular, would happily appear on cameo's as often as humanly possible however.
-
The 2005 fluke show shows you only have to be in it to have a chance of winning it. I dont fancy our chances but a few 50/50's go in our favour and we get lucky who knows?

PVA started the first few games in his Wigan loan then Martinez just mysteriously decided to drop him out of the first team picture altogether. My mate who's a Wigan fan said he played well and could not understand the decision either.
-
I remember seeing Ryan play for Reading (younger brother supports Reading) and i said to myself this guy is class and has to make it with us, it just had to be i was at The Bridge to witness his debut a year and a half later also

One game a week drags out the season too much.

Something that has not been very kind to us in recent years and with Sturridge we saw just how benefitial loaning a player to the right club can be. With Courtious, Kalas, Bruma and hopefully (touch wood) McEachran to add to that list shortly it looks like we are starting to get it right but Kakuta and Van Aanholt are examples of the loan system going badly wrong. Kakuta may aswell have stayed on our bench in the last year or so and would not have been worse off infact he would probally be better off as atleast he was still training with world class players even if he wasn't playing (no disrespect to Fulham or Bolton). Courtious so far we seemed to have got right, he is shining at Athletico Madrid and after a couple of years there the plan is to bring him into the premierleague and loan him here before bringing him into our first team squad. Hopefully a similar course of action is happening with Bruma. Kalas is shining at Vittese and getting rave reviews, maybe he will get a loan at a premierleague club next season? But back to the original point of the subject we need to start getting our loan moves right for our players more often than not and we should put a clause in the loan contract which means they wont suffer like PVA or Kakuta did. We should either offer a fiancial incentive to the club we loan our players too if they start a certain amount of their games (75%of them perhaps) or put a clause in that we can re-call them if they don't start say 4 games on the trot. If we can't find them a premierleague move we should start them lower down. Say League One and if they shine their try and find them a Championship club then a premierleague club then all off a sudden we have a player ready to play for Chelsea, a but like Spurs did with Caulker (loaned him to Yeovil, then Bristol City then Swansea). But us as a club should try and take steps to prevent our loans going tits up like Kakuta's and Van Aanholt's did.
