  1. Alex has made numerous mistakes this season when he played. Its silly no one bats an eyelid when Alex puts Zola in the shade with an assist to Shane Long against West Brom, gave away silly penalites against Fulham and Liverpool and miskicking to let Yakubu in against Blackburn while David Luiz gets slated for anything he does that isnt Beckenbauer esk
  2. Genius impression of the awful Javier Hernandez there from Frank Lampard
  3. We in the MHS all thought it was Torres that scored before Neil announced it as Lampard. We thought the scissor kick went in off the bar.
  4. The whole of the Matthew Harding Stand thought it was Torres that scored the goal It looked like the ball hit the bar and went instead instead of falling to Lamps.
  5. FFS we won and i was at The Bridge today and we were no were near as bad as some are making out, we weren't amazing but we are hardly bad, we created enough chances and should have had 3 penalties. It was a professional performance and a good win.
  6. I was at the game today so i think i can give a fair judgement. Your being a bit harsh on David Luiz, he had no choice but to give that early foul because Bosingwa was as usual in no mans land, he looked assured today, Bosingwa was the liability not David Luiz. Torres was very good as was Ramires, we all thought Torres scored as we were at the Matthew Harding Stand and it looked like Torres overhead kick went in off the bar we were like wtf when Neil announced Lamps as the goalscorer. Romeu was very sloopy at times, he deserves more critism than Luiz for today i think. All in all not a worldclass performance but it wasnt that bad, we should have had 3 penalties in 5 minutes so what the fuck O Neil was going on about claiming Sunderland should have had a penalty (which they should have) when his side got away with 3 in quick succesion (one of which Nino got booked for). Well earned 3 points Sunderland didnt create that much and Spuds and Scousers drawing made it even better.
  7. A west london derby not to tv, smh
  8. If we cast our mind back to the summer of 2004 we did start the summer with a lot of ageing players in the squad. Desailly, Hasselbaink, Melchiot, Petit, Stanic, Gronkjear, Zenden, Sullivan and Ambrosio. They all left at that summer and were replaced by young, hungry talents like Carvalho, Drogba, Ferreira, Tiago, Kezman, Robben and Cech. All of a sudden we had a hungry young driven squad with only Claude Makele and Carlo Cudicini over the age of 30. That window alone shaped us up for success in the 6 years following which got us 7 domestic trophy's and the 2 transfer window's of 2012 and how we spend and sell is going to be vital for our future success aswell IMO, even more so with it being one of the last windows before FFP restrictions are fully in force. Like that summer we need a similar clearout of the ageing players no matter how good they have been in the past. Who i believe needs to be gone by the end of August. Aswell as already gone Anelka and nearly gone Alex. Hilario - Never plays and takes valuble space for a over 21 foreign player. Ferreira - I appreciate his service to the club but he is a passenger these days and we cant keep carrying them forever. Bosingwa - Enough said. Malouda - Just isnt needed anymore. Lampard - IF he isn't prepared to accept a lesser role and toe in line with the new era. No one is bigger than the club. Kalou - I appreciate his efforts but its time for both parties to move on. Drogba - Torres or any forward will never settle with Drogba breathing down their necks, Drogs is a legend but at 34 we arent going to get that much out of him now. AVB will need to get it right in terms of who to bring in aswell, hopefully McEachran will come back from Swansea like a new signing and we sign the right players that fit into his system. This time tho we need to follow on every summer and make a subtle change or 2 to the playing staff every summer so we don't get into the problem of stagnating in another 6 years time. To cut a long story short the next 2 window's will shape us up for years to come, if we go into our first match in September with Kalou-Drogba-Malouda as our front 3 then panic
  9. Does my username count as 'iconic'?
  10. I think in terms of winning the league Madrid have got them, Barca will probally do the double over them but Madrid just seem a lot more motivated in the "lesser games" than Barcelona this season.
  11. £33m is a bargain in this current climate. Why we are hesitating beats me.
  12. Am i the only one who thinks Madrid have got Barca this season? They are 5 points clear and yeh i know Barca won at The Bernabeu but they haven't been as good as last year and Madrid seem so hungry to win this and we all know Mourinho has form for stopping teams that look unstoppable (IE Arsenals "invincibles").
  13. If Torres does not improve fast we need to be looking at getting him off the wage bill, sorry but we cant wait forever.
  14. Exactly, in 2 or so years time im hoping to see a vibrant young side out on the pitch with massive re-sale value.
  15. If we miss out on him because we wont pay 40m euros il flip, how much is that in English pounds? £32m thats a bargain for a player of that calibre in this current market.
  16. Well tell me the difference? apart from one gets praised and the other gets slated for doing the same thing.
  17. Does it matter if he scores goals tho? As ive said before Hernandez looks like a pub player all season bar 10-20 moments a season when a ball hits him on the face and trickles in.
  18. If Kalou does get the winner in the CL final we won't even talk about being Champions of Europe, all the focus will be on Kalou getting "another lucky tap in"
  19. Add this to the fact how many other top clubs have produced academy players in the last decade. Cleverly and Welbeck have been the first at United since Fletcher. Tottenham haven't produced any one since King and Liverpool have only really produced Kelly since Gerrard. City had Richards, Hart, Anouha, Ireland, Johnson, Sturridge and Flood playing from their academy now the Sheiks took over all off them bar Hart and Richards got told they had no future's and even Hart was replaced by Given for a while, have they produced any one since the Sheiks took over? When was the last time someone came thorugh the academy at Madrid or AC Millan? Its only really Barca and Bayern out of the top European clubs that produce academy players on a regular basis. We aren't the only one's responsible.
  20. Agree with ja1 our academy quality was in a real state when Roman took over the club, our best academy player was Leon Knight ffs now where is he? he must be about 27 right now which should be his peak. We should have produced more players to the first team yes, Cork at the very least should have been a squad player but the quality is getting better every season. Roman from everything i hear backs AVB to the hilt which means in time AVB might take more chances with the young players IE Piazon, Kane, Chalaboh in the near future. Ive spoke to a few people on twitter about Chelsea young players and all have said our U14-16''s are some of the best this country has seen, whether that potential will develop into the first team material is for another debate but atleast it shows Roman is investing heavily into the academy, Esk could you concour if our U14-16's are actually that good? Rome wasn't built in a day, give it time and i honestly believe we will have serious talent coming out of our academy every year.
  21. Here he will be wanted and relied on. Barca and Real Madrid he will be just another superstar. If he is deparate to play for Real at some point there's not much we could do to stop that but if he knows what good for him he will join us for the next few years, shine into a superstar then if Real want him he gets his dream move and we make a fat profit. win win.
  22. If im honest he is a liabilty at left back, what AVB needs to try and do is similar to what A'rry has done with Bale, ultilise his immense attacking skills and turn him into a left midfielder, if we can do that we will have one hell of a player on our hands.
  23. AVB really does look about 23 there with the new haircut
  24. Same could have been said for Torres and even Luiz to an extent.
  25. Also them swapping over constantly will confuse the hell out of the opposition, that's without even mentioning Ramires runs aswell.
