Based on what? The CL? Going by that theory Avram an Robbie are the best managers in Chelsea history. You on about overall? because Mou won the league over what many say are one of the best team's of all time. Regarding what you are claiming i said (something i cleared up already) i said Real won't win La Liga any time soon, which i stand by and i said City have a better squad than us but we will make up for that with our manager and challenge them, again, which looking at the table now i would say that was pretty spot on, don't you?

Monaco (who they beat in the final) knocked out Chelsea and Real Madrid. Deportivo, the team they beat in the semi, beat AC Milan 4-0 in the quarter final 2nd leg. Maybe if the big boys didn't fuck up against team's Porto comfortably eliminated he might have had a 'harder' route to the trophy.
-
The 35m squad is also 2 wins away from winning a league that has Barca and Ancelotti's Madrid in it. Its not as simple as looking at the money side of thing's, especially if the squad has been prudently built like this Leti or Jose's Porto.

We did in the first season, but 10-11 we played some off the worst football i have ever seen, even the 6-0 vs Wigan was poor.

Mesut Özil this week we could see the importance of the Champions League. another three points and no one can challenge our ranking in the top 4. we want to win on sunday at all costs! #COYG #bpl #AFCvWBA ______________ Wengie's even managed to brainwash Ozil

He has to be brought back and made number 1 as far as im concerned. He could end up winning all the trophy's on offer to him in Spain at the age of 21, that's fucking insane.

Whats funny is when it looked for all the world Falcao was coming here, we all wanted a more 'all round' forward like Cavani, Falcao went to France then the Cavani rumours gathered momentum and then all of a sudden we wanted a PL proven forward in Rooney instead. Back 6 months ago when getting Costa was a pipe dream almost every one wanted him, now it looks like it could well happen all of a sudden Manduzic and Bony are better options I wonder what type of comments will find it's way here next season when Torres scores for his new club in a weekend Costa doesn't.

Half my post got deleted here god knows what happened.

We didn't play better football last season, that is a myth mainly created by Rafa lovers and there agendas. Robbie tried to change the style we played and the end result was a catastrophic nose dive that saw us win twice in 9 games prior to his sacking (a run that was extended to 2 in 12 after Benny's horror start) and one off them was against United's B team/youth after extra time.

RDM did try and it looked good when teams rolled over for us (Newcastle, Wolves) but when we faced managers with a tight tactical plan (Conte) we looked utterly clueless. RDM did amazing in his interim spell, but the full time gig was a completely different ball game and it was to much for him, 2 wins in 9 was not just a dip in form, it's relegation form.

What i find funny is this fantasy we played free flowing sexy football under Rafa, did you not see our performance at The Ethiad under him? if that wasn't parking the bus then nothing we have done this season is either.
-
No matter how slim our chances are, we are mathematically in a title race and a win will mean that will remain the case going to Cardiff on the last day. For aslong as there's still a chance of winning this title, i ain't giving up, win our 2 games and you just never know.

I rate Simeone it has to be said, my type of managers are one's who build a solid powerful unit that a match for any one. I hope he never manages any off our PL rivals, im much happier coming up against 'defending doesn't matter' managers like Pellegrini, Wenger and Brendan, because we can just counter the shit out off them. When we stop dropping silly points (which Mou will sort out sooner rather than later), those managers won't get near us.
-
If Real win in Lisbon, how many "Carlo won the CL with Real and Mou didn't" comments are we going to get this summer in this thread alone? I might have to template "does that make Di Matteo the best manager in our history then?" ready for when they inevitability come up.
-
I hope Robben comes to England when he retires to manage. Attacking purist's only benefit oppo teams that can actually defend in the long run (look at our record vs Le Arse ever since Wenger went all puristy), which is why i hope Pel, Brendan and Wenger stay at the clubs there at now for years to come.
-
Look at todays game, this is how Madrid were playing under Mourinho for the majority of their games. Ferocious counter attacking football. How people do not find this entertaining is beyond me. This is what I believe he is building us to play like.

Is it just me or are Liverpool fans starting to sound more and more like Arsenal fans circa 2009 to the day? There's a striking similarities, they think possession = points, they bang on about how they play the 'best football', lose at home to Chelsea and spend days and days after the match telling whoever will listen they morally won, stubborn manager who would rather lose than abandon his 'principles'. All they need to do now is spectacularly blow the title and they are in every sense off the word the new Arsenal.

mirror headline: Andre Schurrle supports anti football.

The best thing for me would have been if he stopped and let Torres tap in, that would have been brilliant. The faces from behind would have been priceless.
-
What i find funny is Fergie, Rafa at Liverpool and even Wenger pre 2005 were all partial to defensive tactics when needs must, yet there was never bitter outrages by teams on the receiving end, let alone 'neutral' supporters. Have we done worse (in terms off bus parking) than Fergie did in 2008 at The Camp Nou? or what Rafa did at The Bridge as Liverpool gaffer? or what purist Wenger did when he last won the FA Cup.

Win our last 2 and we finish on 84 points, whether or not that is enough for the title is one thing, but it would be good to b be back on the 80's line points wise, it's been a long few years.

His season with us reminds me of Matic in 09/10, started the season injured then couldn't really break past established international's when he returned. Breaking into top teams isn't easy, hopefully he keeps working hard and eventually he could be a very important player for us.
-
No im not, stop twisting my words, the point is the fantasy that we would have been creating chances like no tomorrow vs these teams is flawed because Mata has played in many games were we have been absolutely clueless in breaking teams down.
-
Also assist stats are meaningless until they define it a bit more, one off Juan's assists for United was a 2 yard sideway pass to Young vs Cardiff who beat McNaughton and hammered home, a true assist was Mata's one to Van Persie vs Stoke. Rooney's goal vs WHU from the half way line, Young offically got an assist for that ffs.
