If were going to have an experienced 3rd choice striker ill rather have Eto'o's contract extended. Eto'o is fully acclimatised back into playing in a major league, Drogba would need even more time than Samuel needed. As a coach or ambassador, sign him up, as a player, that ship has sailed.
-
Just checked his La Liga record, 39 goals in 88 games, that's unbelievable considering he isn't close to being the main man. Im happy with our current AM's, but if Barca offer a swap or even cash plus Luiz (dont want him to go but is looking likely) then would it be to good to turn down.
-
Am i the only one who doesn't rate Baines? He's another full back hiding behind his attacking, infact from the Everton games i have seen last season i actually think Oviedo is better.
-
He would be unreal in a counter attacking system.
-
Both should have probably handled the situation a bit better.
-
I will always be grateful to Ba for saving the nation from a scouse summer of hell.
-
Who knows that Lukaku wouldn't have forced his way in? He got more minutes than Azpi in those first 4 games and he turned out to be one of the key players this season. The reality is, Mou didn't trust Ba, and quite evidently lost his patience with Torres by february, Romelu would have probably been sharing minutes with Eto'o for all off the 2nd half to the season. If he stayed and fought for his place, his superior quality over Ba and especially Nando would have shined through.
-
Under normal circumstances i would say no as we have enough young CB's already, but we desperately need a English core to the side with our legends getting on. If we get him i wouldn't be as gutted if Shaw goes United.
-
Im still recovering from the scars of Bosingwa, last thing i want is the LB version. Being a little suspect at defending is one thing, being a full blown liability is another. PVA would be ideal for a stubborn purist who thinks defending isn't a part of the game (cough*Rodgers*cough) but thankfully our manager ain't one of them.
-
Look over at Madrid, Carlo smashed the world record for Gareth Bale and has lost the league to a squad that overall cost half of the welshman alone and might lose a final to them to. Yet despite that a lot of people view his first season as a success, no matter what happens saturday, just shows that people that use money to measure success/failure by the pound are well out of touch with actual reality.
-
Spot on, im all for constructive criticisms, but at the same time keep a level of respect for someone who has done so much for this club. Some people have a serious agenda.
-
That's me sold, fuck Vidal or Costa, Nolan and Carroll are on the market, 20m a pop.
-
04-05 and 05-06 with us? Ok Drogba and Eidur/Crespo didn't personally get 30 goals, but you don't get 95 then 91 points if your strikers are crap.
-
Because you said parking the bus isn't that hard, well Rafa tried it, and we got hammered.
-
Not an upgrade on Marin? Marin is utter dogshit and probably the only player on our books that i would pick Torres over.
-
Wenger use to take snipes at Allardyce but Big Sam took Lansbury and Almunia on loan and thanked Arsene for it if i remember rightly. If Thorgan can add quality to the WHU attack, i doubt the gum chewer would turn him down cause Mou was mean to him (there laugh about it when they meet at soccer aid), Sam strikes me as many thing's but mentally fragile isn't one off them.
-
Hahaha, so you are bigging up Rafa and then (in a clear dig at Jose) say parking the bus isn't that hard, well you do realise Rafa tried that tactic at The Ethiad and we lost 2-0 and the score well and truly flatered us. Im all for different opinions but when it becomes an agenda made up off myth's.
-
I think Rafa did a good job under the circumstances, he did subtle thing's like increase Hazard's workrate for example. The part that is laughable is people using Europey alone to suggest Rafa did a better job, not to mention glorify his good points yet ignore the shocking games (the game at Steuna was almost as bad as Sunderland under Carlo) and some woefull subs, all to seemingly have a dig at Jose, it must be, there was anything but a pro Rafa brigade when he was actually here. Using knockout cups to judge a managers work is a bit silly until they have won a few, as funny as Wenger's trophy drought is, he is superior to a lot off managers who have won something since he last has, hopefully Bruce is added to that list saturday.
-
You say they deserve support, fair enough, but then you tore Eto'o apart after he scored a hat trick vs United. One rule for Torres, another for the superior forwards.
-
So Bruce is better than Jose and Rodgers is he?
-
Hold on, wait a minute, what your effectively saying is... ... McLeish was better than Ancelotti in 2011. Dalglish was better than Fergie in 2012. Laudrup was better than Klopp in 2013 and if Hull win the FA Cup and Leti win nowt Bruce is better than Simeone. Going by your logic all the above is true.

He has declined in crossing, how much of that is due to the departures off people who can head im not to sure. I can understand frustrations in that aspect, i just find it very unjust when i read "Ivan is not a RB", as he use to be the best in the PL and even now is adequate enough.
-
Am i the only one who thinks he is good at RB? I mean he is no where near this fraud (in that position) that people make out. I agree that Azpi is a better option these days vs the lesser sides in the league, i just find it a shame that a player who was the best RB in the prem under Ancelotti (he was a good crosser back then, when we had Drogba, Anelka, Malouda, Ballack and Lamps getting on the end off them, coincidence im sure) is getting branded as a fraud RB. TOPTB has touched up on this a few times but at goal kicks Cech booting it to Ivan at the sideline to head it in the centre has been a way we have started attack's and also led to Schurrle's goal vs City i think. Ivan deserves a lot more credit than he actually gets.
-
Is that his league record for those clubs? If so then it's only marginally worse than Torres's for us
-
If he doesn't score on his debut, this forum will crash.
