  1. Definitely agree with you about getting the fans forum consulted on stadium design/ideas, they need fans ideas if/when they look to relocate so that the fans respond well to a new place.
  2. No such thing as a respectable woolwich wanderer fan :blue scalf: arsenals decline is more down to wenger than it is to a ground move, he has failed to replace players when they have left with similar quality, he usually goes for a younger cheaper shitter option to keep in with his philosophy. I think even if we did move we would have the same atmosphere as we currently do, good but not great, its more down to the modern fan for the lack of noise, blame murdoch and sky for that.
  3. doubt it would be us, has red on the outside for starters.
  4. I wasnt suggesting it merely saying that apparently the club have explored that option and it isnt viable as like you said for all those reasons and more.
  5. Its being reported (probably intentionally leaked) that the club have explored the option of starting again at our current location from scratch, and turning the pitch through 90 degrees , still doesnt sort out the egress problems which are the fundamental problem with where we are. Nine elms seems the most likely to me, its an area that needs redevelopment, in a traditional chelsea stronghold for supporters, easiest place to buy and build a new ground, earls court is the obvious best choice location wise but id be happy to move to battersea, its better than old oak common.
  6. And that at the moment is the best option, what the club are saying is for example, if earls court becomes available and they needed to move quick, to get the bank loans to partially fund it they would need to use the bridge as collateral just like what woolwich wanderers done with highbury, at the moment with the CPO still in place that couldnt happen, if I were Roman id also say to the CPO the freehold can be transferred onto the new ground to keep them happy.
  7. The prawn sarnie brigade would on a cold december midweek night against stoke, me couldnt care less, the fan consultation was an idea I was putting out there, to be fair to the club they generally are not to bad at getting us fans involved when possible, unlike when ken bates was head honcho (he did as much bad as he did good), id be of the opinion that they might....might do something similar to the shed end mural on the website/posted to members + season ticket holders/have a poll on a choice of a few different stadium designs, although im sure Roman Abramovich would produce something to be proud of, hopefully something similar to below Massive single tier behind the goals north and south, with multi tiers on the sides, and banish the away lot to the highest point in the ground where they cant be seen or heard.
  8. What makes you think that the cpo on agreeing to selling it back wouldnt ask for a clause to say they would like fan consultation on a new ground, I dont think for one minute that if we were to move abramovich would want some generic number 6 bowl style ground anyway, id imagine him to have a ground built that will make us the envy of the world, when roman does something he does it with the style of a billionaire playboy, look at the mans yachts for christs sake, we would have the most state of the art stadium in europe, 60k all seater, retractable roof, heated seats in the prawn sarnie part of the ground, special area for youngsters and family section, the away lot banished to the heavens out of sight and earshot. A new ground would be great for the club, atmosphere wise I dont see it changing much in the ground it sounds great if you are in the MH or the shed, but you cant hear each other as the stadiums acoustics are so shit that should be a major point the club need to sort out if we move. Its all positive for me as long as we stay within the SW or W postcodes of london, id object if we were to move to guildford for example, even if it did mean im only 30 minutes away in a car.
  9. Do you want to elaborate on that view point? Moving to a new ground is inevitable and is needed for the club to take the last step to becoming what is considered a major club, all the great clubs have big stadiums or at least the biggest in their leagues, the club have made the kind of promises that a fan would want. Look at the big picture we are not the club we once were, we dont need to do a whipround in the stands train to aways to help save the club from the developers, the cpo in the current climate are now defunct it is no longer needed.
  10. Likely to be agents way of getting an extra 20k a week when they renew, how many players have we been linked with when they are negotiating or about to negotiate a new contract, list is longer than my arm, pepe, sergio ramos, dani alves, robinho, rooney, gerrard, ribery, falcao, aguero the list is literally endless, an agent mentions us or now man city malaga psg and suddenly the club has to up their original offer, wouldnt be surprised if in a fortnight he has signed a new deal.
  11. We need another creative ball player ala mata who can play down the right, as another option for the more stubborn defences we are likely to come up against this season.
  12. Im of the belief that frank should this form he has been in for the last 6 months continue then it would be in the teams best interests if he played less, as second half of the utd game we looked more fluid (until mikel came on) but I think super frank still has a part to play for the club even if it is a smaller part than he is used to, but he has earnt the right to be given more time before he can be judged as on the tail end of his career.
  13. Old red nose does far worse, all AVB has done is mention we put an official complaint in through the proper channels, cant see that as a problem its not like he openly questioned a referees fitness through the national media, it also like godzola said puts it in the back of the refs mind that we have been aggrieved which may subconsciously sway things in the future our way.
  14. For me it was Meireles had a great game he was pulling the strings in the middle of the park and setting the tempo for our attacks whilst also doing his bit defensively, obviously torres had a good game as did mata and ramires, but I just think in Meireles we have got lampards short/mid term replacement
  15. Surely your post is insinuating that arsenal are still considered a top team, and thats only true in wengers little corner of north london
  16. If I recall correctly his old man was a blue scouser stationed out in germany, although english named he is german through and through and never considered playing for our country.
  17. I dont think its a bad transfer leaves josh as our lone playmaker, so hopefully more game time for him.
  18. Wish we could be like this lot, they were at an under twelves match
  19. Great interview, always thought bruce buck comes across very well when ever he is interviewed, seems intelligent, articulate and obviously has a real love of chelsea, if I recall correctly he has been a season ticket holder since late seventys earlier eightys and is the only other share holder at chelsea, when he helped roman buy the club as he is a merger lawyer (they have also been friends/associates for a while before hand) roman obviously knew he was a fan and gave him a single share as a gesture of thanks for helping secure the deal.
  20. I got the impression from when it was announced that we took an option on wallace that we had already agreed a future fee for him, that was the impression I got from the bit I read which is here, if thats the case then id imagine that is what happened with the other two.
  21. I believe we got the options on those 3 in exchange for deco, so didnt cost us a thing money wise.
  22. The government are considering spending £3million on a state funeral for Margaret Thatcher when she dies, For £3million they could buy everyone in Scotland a shovel, and we'll dig a hole deep enough to deliver her to Satan ourselves. - Frankie Boyle Plans have begun for Margaret Thatcher's state funeral, It'll be the first time ever the 21 gun salute is fired into the coffin.
  23. We need a right winger and a creative attacking midfielder type, then any player that gets sold also needs replacing so it depends on departures as to how many we eventually sign in total.
  24. I tell you what its been along time I have been this excited for the club, there looks to be a vision in place for once and not just look like something thrown together, AVB fills you with confidence during that press conference, he has a plan he knows what he wants and he is implementing it as we speak, like he said the whole club is being restructured and he looks to be in the driving seat with roman over seeing the restructure. Its great to finally have a young hungry and eager to prove a point manager again, not since jose signing have I been this happy and optimistic going into a new season I really cannot wait to see what he does with the squad as the backroom is getting an overhaul and in the right areas im sure he will get the player transfers right as well. COME ON THE CHELS
  25. Stamping his authority early on maybe, apparently one of the things that scolari and cech feel out over was that lollichon was getting marginalized and his usual routine was changed, maybe it is AVB getting in nice and early that he is in charge as im sure he wants to stamp his imprint on the club as soon as, wouldnt surprise me if he culls a couple of the bigger players amongst the dressing room as well, not that he needs to do this to get the players on side as im sure they respect him and will want to play for him but it wouldnt hurt to make a few big decisions like that just to keep them on their toes, anyway thats what I think it may be or maybe he just thinks we can do better?
