Jose M reacted to Jase in 🇪🇸 César Azpilicueta
I don't disagree with that but him not going forward is almost clearly an instruction given by Mourinho. If he is given the license to go forward, I'm sure he would but judging by what has happened since last season, Azpi has clearly been told to stay back so that we always have enough numbers back and not totally disorganized when Ivanovic goes forward on the other side. Azpi is not playing on his natural side and seems like he's only allowed to go forward when the time is right. Otherwise, the license for a FB to go forward is with Ivanovic right now, not Azpi.

Belgians return from WC holiday on Wednesday, hopefully something concrete is known by then instead of all these speculations.

Read the quote properly mate, would only kinda make sense if Mourinho said that. It's clearly someone trolling, and clearly succeeding

Jose M reacted to LukakutoStamford in 🇨🇮 Didier Drogba
Relax people he's going to play little barring severe injuries. My guess is that he may get 500 minutes at most across all competitions. The real point behind this move is to have help Lukaku and learn Mourinho's tactics from the player perspective to transition into a coach.
Plus he'll be able to build relationships with all the players for 2015-2016 and beyond.

Jose M reacted to The only place to be in 🇨🇮 Didier Drogba
MOVE THIS THREAD MODS!!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:
Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce the return of Didier Drobga. The striker has signed a one-year contract.
Drogba of course needs no introduction.
When he came to the end of his previous contract in 2012 it was only weeks after he had stroked the ball from the penalty spot into the Bayern Munich net to place Chelsea on top of the European summit for the first time.
His earlier equalising header in that Champions League final was his 157th goal in 341 appearances, a total placing him fourth in the club's all-time highest-scorer list.
On signing his contract, Drogba said: ‘It was an easy decision - I couldn't turn down the opportunity to work with Jose again. Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and it has always felt like home to me.
‘My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to the opportunity to help this team. I am excited for this next chapter of my career.’
Jose Mourinho said: ‘He’s coming because he’s one of the best strikers in Europe. I know his personality very well and I know if he comes back he’s not protected by history or what he’s done for this club previously. He is coming with the mentality to make more history.’
His 34 goals in European competition remains a Chelsea record, as do his nine strikes in nine cup finals.
During the Ivorian’s first eight years with the club, Drogba won three Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups as well as the Champions League triumph. He has been named Chelsea's Player of the Year and Players' Player of the Year and has won the Premier League Golden Boot twice.
Since leaving Chelsea in 2012 he has played for Shanghai Shenhua and Galatasaray, memorably making a return to Stamford Bridge last season when we beat the Turkish club in the Champions League Round of 16.
He has continued his international career and appeared in all three of Ivory Coast’s games at the World Cup, taking his caps total to 104 with 63 goals scored.

Jose M reacted to Madmax in 🇪🇸 Diego Costa
Okay, so I had some free time on my hands and decided to compare Costa's last season with other top forwards from England and Europe. I've used whoscored data so the usual caveats with their stats apply. I'm not sure how much you can read into the numbers but a couple of them should spark good discussion. I'll provide whoscored's definitions for some of the more disputed parameters at the end of the post.
Diego Costa vs other forwards in 2013-14 :
Diego Costa vs Chelsea forwards in 2013-14 :
(Note that the 'passes', 'key passes' and 'dribbles' are all successful passes/ key passes/ dribbles and not merely attempted.)
Whoscored glossary :
Dispossessed
- Being tackled by an opponent without attempting to dribble past them
Key Pass
- The final pass leading to a shot at goal from a teammate
Turnover
- Loss of possession due to a mistake/poor control

Jose M got a reaction from Amblève. in 🇧🇪 Romelu Lukaku
We cannot afford to loose the immense talent that Lukaku posses's. He may be full of shit, but the best usually are. The man is not worried about the media he has been in the media spotlight since he was 16! He is just probably bitter he hasn't been given a chance yet at Chelsea. We must all remember he is a boyhood fan of Chelsea FC.
Lukaku will not be sold by CFC and if he is, then we are seriously never going to come good with our youth policy!

Let's do it.
It will be a weakened team. But if we stay tight we can do it, and nick one on the break.

Jose M reacted to Bosnian Blue in 🇨🇲 Samuel Eto'o
I never liked him, I don't like him now, but he has earned my respect and he has proved to be the best of our strikers. Still think they won't give him another year though, also if we win the league I have a feeling all three of them will be gone.
But nevertheless props to Eto'o who has helped our team a lot.

Jose M reacted to Jase in 🇪🇬 Mohamed Salah
That would explain why Salah was pointing to the direction of the bench and Mourinho celebrating wildly (compared to the 5 goals before) after he scored.
