I don't think anyone is winning the CL over one of Real Madrid, PSG, Bayern tbh anyway, so dunno why people are thinking of the CL. I am confident we can get through the group stage, maybe even round 16. I don't think winning the thing is feasible for any club in England at the moment. I do feel we'll have to strengthen in January though. This summer was difficult for us because there were few decent players on the market who were not overpriced. Alex Sandro we were obviously after, but Juventus just were not going to let go. Nothing you can do there. I am not sure I am ready to be overly critical towards Marina because of this window. We needed more depth, which we've added somewhat, but the quality of players has been good enough. We aren't in the state of Arsenal, so for that I am grateful lol

Unsure why we would want him with Loftus Cheek and Van Ginkel. I would take both over him. It's stupid we never kept either of those two or Baker.
-
80% of transfer stories are nonsense.
-
Not sure why we are not just allowing Tomori to rotate with Moses. Yes he's young, but give him a shot. Sometimes throwing them in at the deep end is the best solution. I would love to see Juan Castillo get a squad place for LWB in the near future, he looks really talented at 17 y/o. I don't believe these youngsters are not capable.
-
Be interesting to see how he performs in this league
-
Why do people insist on us buying random players. Stop believing everything that is reported ffs.
-
Barcelona were reported to be interested in Griezmann and Dybala. I can't believe they're ready to pay 140m for fucking Coutinho, but won't go after Griezmann.
-
How would he play ahead of Pedro and Willian? He isn't as good as neither imo. People really underrate the importance those two have to our team.
-
It's not a stupid policy, we're an English club and therefore should have a foundation built on English players.
-
Because we don't need a player like him. We have Willian, Pedro, Hazard, Musonda. Lemar wouldn't get in ahead of Willian or Pedro on that right wing.
-
We have plenty of quality players in the squad. We signed Morata, Bakayoko and Rudiger. Liverpool make one top class signing every couple years, if that. Our ambitions are high.
-
People seem to forget playing attacking football against better teams isn't a good idea. Just look at teams who play vs Real Madrid like Juve in the final of CL last season or Barcelona vs PSG etc, you need to have better tactics rather than just offence, offence, offence all the time. It didn't help City vs Everton and it doesn't help Liverpool or Arsenal. If Spurs lost Kane or Eriksen they would be in trouble, similar to us without Hazard. Our team vs Spurs was simply a new team getting used to each other, and Morata and Bakayoko are brand new to the league and lack fitness due to short pre-season. Once they get used to the team I am sure it will be a different scenario when we face Spurs later this season again.

Pointless league. Will be even more of a one horse race if this is allowed.

Utd are beatable. They have beat a poor WH team who couldn't string two passes together, were useless in attack, and gave the ball away constantly, all while their two best players missing in Lanzini and Antonio. Utd today looked average against a Swansea side who were in a relegation battle last season and have added nobody of improvement to their team. In fact they have lost arguably their best player in Sigursson. Swansea had chances against Utd though, but up top they had the inexperienced Tammy leading the line on his own fighting for scraps, and bloody Ayew! It took a headed corner for Utd to take the lead, but they really didn't look impressive at all. There is a difference beating a team 0-4 convincingly while playing the team off the park and the opposition completely capitulating and offering next to nothing in the form of offence, while defending like a drunk on a Saturday night. One thing can be certain, Jose cannot moan and whine about fixtures now seeing as they have been gifted a fixture list in which they don't play a top team until October. "JAMMY, JAMMY, MAN UTD!"

If he asked to stay, it's strange he hasn't signed a new contract. The CEO is saying what he has too. It will be unlikely we get him this summer anyway. I read something a few weeks ago a close friend to Sandro said he would like the move to Chelsea, but wouldn't force the move away this summer out of respect for Juventus. Of course things can change in the next week or two, so unless we pay a ridiculous fee and wages that tempts Sandro and Juve, I think we should focus on filling the gap until next summer.
-
I don't believe we were seriously interested in him. L'equipe are full of shit
-
Matuidi is ramires mark 2, and he isn't homegrown, partnered our best central midfielder in a title winning season, and isn't a premier league player who garners a larger fee.
-
I don't understand people stating we should move on. Negotiations won't be happening solely for Sandro, we will be looking at other targets too. However, Sandro seems to be our no.1 target and that's the reason we aren't going to just sign any other LB if we can force Sandro/Juve's hand/s. It's all well and good saying going after others, but unless they're going to be good enough to start ahead of Alonso we're only spending money on a LB on Alonso's level.
-
We can't keep signing foreign players, we don't have enough home grown. Why do you think we're targeting English players?
-
You could say the same about any key player getting injured for any club.
-
It would be great to get him, but let's not get confident. Arsenal could easily not let him go, then this means nothing.
-
You can't always get deals done super quickly though, negotiating can take a few days to weeks.
-
No idea, but isn't Simon Johnson supposed to be reliable for Chelsea news? If so, I don't see why his colleague wouldn't be just as reliable. Not idea though.
-
it's not really though. £35m for a young player of his abilities and qualities is actually a steal. Clubs have to pay more now, no matter what. Sanchez would probably still go for 50m+ despite having one year left.
