Unless he absolutely signs a contract, we are still in the background. I don't see where he takes that Napoli side tbh, especially if they lose Jorginho and a couple others which has been rumoured.
-
Sarri may stay, but it will also depend if Chelsea offer him a better contract.
-
He should try putting his foot down and scoring goals then. Look at Salah, Hazard has just as much and more natural talent but won't score anywhere near as many goals as Salah. In the last two seasons under Conte he has scored less than Salah has in one season. Everybody is acting like Hazard is the be all and end all for us, but he could be doing A LOT better in terms of goals. He just doesn't want to. Either that or we need a manager who will give the team that offensive freedom to score the goals, because as good as Hazard is, he could be doing a lot more with the talent he has. Making the excuse of the talent he has around him is poor, because that Liverpool midfield and defence (not including Van Dijk) is average and Salah has still been scoring goal after goal and creating chances. It is up to the player and mentally Hazard hasn't shown since he's been here that he's particularly hungry for goals.

To be fair, we can all continue to say certain players aren't ready, but you have Dele Alli thriving for Spurs, and he came from a league one side.
-
So a 17 year old and 21 year old? How about we use our youth system instead? Ruben Loftus Cheek, Mason Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Reece James. There's four names we should seriously be looking at giving squad places.
-
Surprised so many want to go for an unknown in the French league instead of promoting Callum Hudson-Odoi and giving him a squad place behind Hazard, Willian and Pedro. I would understand if it were a more experienced, proven attacker, but the fact that Malcom is a couple years older than CHO shows why it wouldn't be a good choice.

If it's true I would suspect it's because Liverpool look the better team, have a vision that's working and that they're play much more pleasing football. I think the style of football we play is an issue. Liverpool and City will be more desirable because of the style of football they play. It is that simple.

I honestly know next to nothing about this guy.
-
Apparently that source isn't that reliable.
-
I don't think he's better than Reece James personally. I like Sterling a lot, just think Reece James is more adaptable to various positions including RB/RWB. Sterling, for me, has stagnated a little. He is still young though and has plenty potential.
-
I don't agree with this. Would prefer to promote Reece James from the academy. Why we continually buy these young prospects instead of promote within is mind boggling. Reece James is 18 years old, the ideal time to promote him into the first team squad.
-
The fact that we let Cech go to let him in annoys me. Not that Cech has maintained his form, but after Cech being so loyal it makes me shake my head hearing Courtois wanting to leave. Saying that, if he has kids in Spain, not sure you can criticise him

I wouldn't say there is hype, especially not as much as there has been with Tuchel. Sarri had a career in banking until he was 40 years of age, then started coaching at a low level and worked his way up. He has only been coaching at the top level for a few years, so he is still quite new to football at this level. Now he is getting recognition because of what he has done with Napoli in the past two seasons. Add to that, that Napoli looked to be going backwards under Rafa. He brought in a few signings of his own and turned the team into what they are today. Napoli haven't got the funds of a Juventus or other Italian clubs, and the current Napoli squad is thin so it's meant next to no rotation. Also, two of their key players sustained long term injuries, one being the LB Ghoulam vs Man City last year in the group stage of CL. They are still close to Juventus in the table and a win today for them would close the gap to within one point. To win the league over a dominant Juventus side is near on impossible, but he's running them close. People are curious how well he could get a side playing and competing at a club with a larger budget and higher quality players.
-
I can't wait for the season to end. We need some good football at the club, I'm done with this tosh and a manager who has no plan B or C, or even bothers to rotate players who aren't providing anything.
-
Pissing me right off when it's clear Alonso is useless at any offensive play. He was scared to even take on Zabaleta ffs! Just when you need someone to be direct and overlap Hazard, it doesn't happen and Hazard is left to do all the work. The formation and tactics are so easy to play against now it's enraging me.
-
He achieved it because we had no fixtures and other teams were worse. This season the competition has got better and he's all outta ideas. To top it off he lambastes Costa in January last year, then totally destroying the relationship beyond repair before pre-season. He hasn't changed formation which hasn't worked this season and got found out. It was the same at Juventus, stubbornness and lack of competition in the league helped him a lot. The players and board can no longer be his point of blame.
-
He's 21 ffs. Who the hell is claiming a 21 year old is world class? He's been absolutely solid for most of the season up until the Barcelona game. Now people want to shit on him. Give it a rest.
-
Yes, it's PSG.
-
Conte should have kept his mouth shut and not kept firing shots at the board. Also, falling out with Costa was a poor decision. Whether Costa wanted to leave or not (so do many players at clubs) the club got put in a tough spot by Conte doing that. Costa was happy to have stayed and seen out his contract. Conte never really gave the board the option to keep him now because he's talked way too much in public, which should have at the very least been kept private.
-
This is the same Salah who was anonymous vs Utd lol. Yedder did more vs Utd than Salah. Any player can have a fantastic season, it's happened various times over the years with players who are notably pretty average. Not saying he isn't good, but he doesn't possess any special abilities. A competent gameplan would hinder his chances of creating much, if anything, like we saw in the Utd game. It just so happens many coaches this season are incompetent. Liverpool have a good game, win by a few goals, Salah gets on the scoresheet and all of a sudden the media are back to praising him beyond belief. If the smaller teams didn't crumble after a little bit of pressure, maybe they would actually be tested more often. We made Watford look good, they are a dreadful side.
-
I would personally pick Sarri over most. Luis Enrique isn't a bad idea and I can understand why we would choose him considering his achievements. Carlo is the other outside option. I think Tuchel is a 50/50 choice.
-
Utd do not have a great squad, and City have two "world class" players.
-
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Did you still think that squad was average straight after winning the league? I highly doubt it.
-
He doesn't help himself. The transfer window closes and he says he's glad it's shut and doesn't have to talk about transfers, but now it's shut he still doesn't shut up about them.
-
I don't agree our team is average. We have some quality players, but the system is wrong. Moses I would agree is average, as is Cahill and Alonso. Apart from them, the rest of our team are one or all of new to the league, young, hampered by injuries, returning from long term injury etc. I think people are expecting way too much, too soon from our new signings. The board maybe can be blamed a little, but they tried to sign the likes of Sandro, Koulibaly, Vidal, Nainggolan, Bonucci, however the chance of signing them was low because their clubs didn't want to let them go or the player didn't want to leave the club/country. It isn't like the board didn't try to sign some top quality players in previous two summer windows. I think the tactics have gone stale and Conte has been way too stubborn to change things up. He has also been poor in cup competitions, and against a really poor Arsenal side he's been outdone by Wenger god knows how many times. Sometimes the team needs new tactics and formation to keep things interesting, but it hasn't happened. We still have a team good enough to be making top four, no matter what anybody says. Liverpool for e.g do not have a better side on paper, yet Klopp has them putting in impressive performances this season.
