  1. Imagine it, Utd wanted Morata, we (apparently) wanted Lukaku. Man Utd got Lukaku, We get Morata. We want Bakayoko, Utd want Fabinho. Man Utd get Bakayoko, we get Fabinho LOL. I don't believe this nonsense, but like someone said I am sure we aren't the only ones after him and if you believe the press, they wanted Bakayoko before we did.
  2. So just like Lukaku then when he scores a hattrick vs cannon fodder? People overrate the Premier League and how hard it is to score here. Let's not forget Vardy scored 20 goals in the Premier League and he's an ex-3rd division player. Costa came in first season and was one of the top scorers too.
  3. Well if Kane didn't miss games last season they probably would have won the league.
  4. I dunno why people are so for playing with a big, physical striker rather than an all around brilliant striker. I would take a Lewandowski, Suarez, Dybala etc over a big, physical striker. Look what happened last season when Costa was off form (or even on form) they require good service, whereas a versatile striker will win games through creating chances themselves.
  5. You mean the Tottenham who ended up 2nd and played brilliant last season? Tottenham have signed some quality players, so if he's Tottenham quality he's any team in the league's quality too.
  6. Ignore, Ignore, Ignore. I am fed up with media rehashing same stuff, I don't think we're desperate for every striker. We will have a list of strikers and we'll negotiate to get them.
  7. After evaluating the situation logically, I think this was a blessing in disguise. Lukaku would disallow us to play good football. It would be another case of supplying the target man via long balls again and that's really not a style of football I'm interested in tbh. I want us to become a technically efficient team, rather than a hoof and hope for the big man to do his work.
  8. Lukaku is a top class striker, no point pretending he isn't because people are butthurt over him potentially signing for Utd. Whether he will or can improve, we will see. I see no reason why he can't improve around other world class players, whether here or at Utd.
  9. Which Utd fan wrote that article? OTT journalism. I find it hard to imagine we weren't willing to pay what Everton wanted, but will spend £70-80m on one of Belotti or Morata. I could be very wrong, and if I am I'll put my hands up. However, I believe Lukaku, Morata and Belotti were strikers we were looking at, but the price for Everton were asking for too much, the board relayed this to Conte and they agreed to go for one of the others instead. I also find it difficult for Conte to be angry at the board when (IF TRUE) he made a big mistake in dealing with the Costa situation. If anything, it's the board who have the right to be angry with him. I find the jounalism this time of year to be greatly exaggerated, and OTT headlines like those are because they want/need clicks and views.
  10. If you're going to post sources, make sure they're top tier at least. The Sun, Metro, Star, Tuttosport, etc are shit sources. Unless it's Fabrizio Romano, Di Marzio etc we shouldn't take the sources seriously. Those guys will get the truth before anyone, no matter how poor people think DiMarzio has been.
  11. What a bunch of overreactions on here. He's just turned 24 years old, is versatile, tall, physically dominating, I don't see the issue. He will be a big upgrade on Zouma.
  12. Those signings are very hard to acquire. Their clubs don't want to let them go, so nothing we can do.
  13. Zouma is poor unfortunately, especially with the ball at his feet.
  14. We have been making some tidy profits on players lately
  15. He's one of the best LB in the world, playing for one of the best clubs in the world, so negotiating is going to be arduous. Ultimately it's Sandro's decision, but I do wonder why it's so quiet on his front.
  16. £35 million is a steal if he becomes world class, but if he doesn't we haven't spent a fortune. I am hoping for the former though.
  17. Not believing anything until he said he's leaving or staying with his own mouth. Ijust hope we have a plan B in case.
  18. "The ball is in his court" that's what we said about Nainggolan lol.
  19. I don't understand the clambering for Mendy. Sure he looks promising, but at the end of the day he's just one player from a very in form Monaco side of last season. Monaco reminds me of Leicester in their title winning season. Mendy does look like a good player, but there's no telling whether he's being overrated by many.
  20. Yeah that's nonsense, don't believe anything until a reliable source confirms it. I have heard little about James, only Morata linked to Utd.
  21. It's ultimately up to the player. If the player wants to leave, then Juve will have to accept one of our higher bids for him. The ball is in Sandro's court, so...
  22. No he isn't - fucking nonsense. Ronaldo won't leave Real Madrid.
  23. Di Marzio and Fabrizo Romano are still the upper tier for reliablity. I would not believe anything until they say anything on the subject. La Repubblica sounds like a cheap attempt for an Italian paper.
  24. Yeah, he made comments during the season about wanting to stay at Juventus. I don't see him moving, but sometimes money talks and if he is on low wages then offering an increase may well sway him. Not sure who else is out there for LB position tbh.
  25. Yeah, like there won't be the next Veratti in another year or two. These type of players come around every couple years. Veratti isn't a player out of the ordinary; he's just a good young player that's it. He may not have a ceiling of potential and this could be it, so I wouldn't be crying over not getting him that's for sure.
