  1. Let's not forget that Rudiger had a similar injury too, now he's one of our best players. People often forget how advanced treatment and rehab for these type of injuries is in this sport, especially at the highest level. I'm all for it if the player wants to come and Roma are willing to let him go for a reasonable fee. We desperately need competition and back up for Alonso at LWB as he's having to play pretty much every game for us at the moment.
  2. I'm not against the board, but this is funny.
  3. Conte said himself he gives the board a list of targets, but it all comes down to which players are attainable.
  4. Still don't want him. I feel his past his best now and only going to get worse. He's also a mercenary.
  5. Why does Conte have a fixation for these giant target men? It means there's no skill involved at all, just hoping to lump it up to the big man. Fuck me, Batshuayi I feel sorry for ya mate, you're being wasted here.
  6. I can see Spurs beating Juventus and Real getting beat by PSG, so that only leaves Barca, Bayern and PSG to beat City. Maybe it will be a Liverpool vs City final haha. Oh god! I dread.
  7. City were dreadful. Worse passing and retaining of the ball I've seen from them all season. Not to mention the mistakes that led to at least 2 of Liverpool's goals. Liverpool played well, but they were also the fresher team of the two. City were poor. Aguero is shot, he hasn't got the legs any more, they were missing G.Jesus up top badly. We all knew City were beatable though, they have been fortunate in a few games previously, and vs Crystal Palace they could have lost it. Unfortunately, we have been even worse and haven't capitalised when given the opportunity.
  8. Stop overreacting ffs. Many clubs would love to be in the position we are in at the moment. 3rd in the league, in all three cup competitions (including one win away from a final), we are in a privileged position and people need to start realising it.
  9. I think the thing people are forgetting is we are rebuilding the squad. All of the old guard have gone, so we have had to bring in new players and integrate them now. We will likely go through a rough patch on occasions because of this. The players in the squad have been together for one and a half seasons, even less for some. Morata has come from Spain where they have winter break, and he's in a new team, in a new country, being the leading man under a new coach with a different philosophy. The problem is with many of the new age fans is they are impatient and expect instant success or success every season. It isn't going to happen. Most other squads in the league have been together for a few seasons or still have some of their old guard left, but our squad is still relatively new. Christensen, Morata, Alonso, Moses (only been starter since last season), Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappa, Rudiger, Batshuayi, Kante, all players who have been at the club a very short period..
  10. Haha the people on here who think this is Fifa. He wants 400k a week and Arsenal want 30-35m. I also don't want him anywhere near the club. He is a sulking mercenary who laughs at his own teammates and thinks everything is about him. Football is a team game.
  11. They've won fuck all mate. Why is Klopp's future not in question at every press conference? The truth is, the English media dont' like Chelsea, never will, and will do all they can to get the manager out. Spurs have won fuck all, but Pochettino's future is never being question either. It's every press conference they ask him the same thing, then quotes are misconstrued as having a pop at the board because of his poor English. I'm sick to the teeth of the media in this country tbh and why everyone gives them the time of day I don't know. Only because it's Chelsea, the manager's future is always in question when other managers have won nothing and you don't hear a peep from the journalists about them because it doesn't fit their agenda.
  12. Man City are willing to pay his ridiculous wage demands. Not a chance we pay 400k+ a week for a 29 year old who's best years are behind him.
  13. The problem is, that's a game we will most likely turn up for. I truly believe the players can't get up for this competition, it's a mickey mouse cup. Let us be honest, who really cares for it?
  14. Okay, hes scored some goals, but let's be honest, it's not guaranteed Sandro would do the same. Alonso has won us games. How many times has Sandro done that for Juve? You underestimate how important a player like Alonso can be. One thing I've always said though, is that Alonso's pace is the biggest hold back when it comes to his game.
  15. Understandable. Alonso has been very important this season.
  16. No, we aren't spending big because we have to adhere to FFP and create a self sustaining football club. It might actually be a great thing for our club if it means more youth will start finding a route into the first team. It's about time we looked to bring through more homegrown talent anyhow. You, and others, worry yourselves with what City or PSG are doing. They are both dodgy as fuck anyway, so who cares.
  17. He's impressed that Chelsea have still shown so much interest in him apparently, and that's why he is willing to come to us now.
  18. Yeah, RLC needs that time on loan. He's been sitting on the bench for the past couple seasons waiting his time. Also, Conte seems to want to play him up top, so obviously doesn't like something about him in that central midfield role, maybe workrate and defensive duties? I dunno how some people can complain about this signing. It's nice to have more English players in the squad once again too.
  19. Should have gone for Mario Gomez instead. He's already move to Stuttgart now.
  20. If he needs limitless amounts of money to win the league again, then don't bother. As soon as the league has gotten tough we're hearing this shite. It bores me when Jose does it, and it's boring me now.
  21. I'm annoyed he waits too fucking long to bring anybody on. We start with Hazard and Morata against a wall of what, 5 Arsenal defenders with Willian and Pedro sat on the bench. Drinkwater could have started over Bakayoko. At the end of the day, the tactics and personnel were poor. Conte is to blame, nobody else. He can whine about the squad, but there's players plenty good enough to beat that depleted Arsenal side. Wenger has outwitted him how many times now? He went into this game with a spineless lineup and spineless tactics, now talks about not getting the players he wants. He seems to think every top player will come at his call, but it doesn't happen. Now it's getting tough we are getting excuses from him. If we had won tonight we wouldn't have heard a peep, that's what gets me. He was also the man who is to blame for Costa situation, so before he talks about missed opportunities, remember why we're in that situation up front.
  22. Morata has missed sitters this season too, so not like we aren't used to that lol
  23. They both lack pace, and Cahill isn't that comfortable with the ball at his feet under pressure. So many times I would like to see Alonso beat his man, but his lack of pace doesn't allow him to do that unfortunately.
  24. Alonso's lack of pace is really telling in games. He got beaten by that fella (can't remember his name) with relative ease who scored the disallowed goal. If that was a LWB with pace, that wouldn't have happened. I do believe Cahill and Alonso are weak links, and when Christensen plays alongside a top class LWB we will see even more impregnability in our defence. However, I must add that Alonso does bring something important to the table, and that's his knack of scoring crucial goals, whether it be from open play or free kicks.
