Very pleased with the performances of Giroud and Emerson.

I'm quite certain at this point that we'll up with Sarri. It would also explain why Conte wasn't fired mid-season as Sarri wasn't available. I hope they announce it soon so the board can start recruting new players.
-
Imagine a game without Cesc or Alonso and Giroud starting instead of Morata. Excited!

A loanee from Chelsea FC captaining his side to the championship tells you everything you need to know about the current state of the Eredivisie. Sad!
-
Emerson plays tomorrow!
-
His talent is very obvious to everyone who has seen him play but it's hard to get excited about him knowing our record with integrating academy products. Most likely he'll spend five spells on loan before ending up in the Romanian first division.
-
It isn't the goals. It's the way he chases every ball, how he bullies every defender and actually looks likes he gives a damn. That's what I want to see when I watch Chelsea or Premier League football in general. Morata often plays like a man without a soul.
-
It makes a huge difference when you have a fighter like Giroud up front instead of lifeless Morata.
-
Class performance. Love his fighting spirit

Changed the formation to back four and this happens. Conte masterclass
-
What happens next is we get caught for losing on purpose and get relegated as a penalty
-
Kante is around 10x more valuable than Bakayoko so you do the math. 60 million euro mentioned here is the worst joke of the year. Besides, Kante ain't going nowhere. He's here to stay.

Should go for Jody Morris. None of the progressive big name managers are available and I don't trust Luis Enrique or Allegri to be the guy to guide this club forward. Make Lamps Jody's assistant and we're good to go IMO.
-
Exactly. Letting players go for free doesn't fit the business model the club has been employing since 2010.
-
Elaborate on this?
-
Surely he won't be here next season? He's in the twilight of his career now, Qatar/MLS/China is where he should be playing not the Premier League.
-
The club has to make a decision. Either we buy a handful of new top players or we sell Kante because frankly, he deserves to be playing with better teammates.

In my opinion this club never recovered from the moment Ray was sacked. We've been in decline ever since not just in quality of the squad but also in terms of attitude on and off the pitch and the passion for the club and the badge. The circumstances in which he was let go has to be the single biggest mistake the club (and there have been quite a few) has done in the Roman era. Unacceptable and unforgivable. My condolences to his family and friends. Rest in Piece, Ray.

In case Liverpool go through, the UCL semifinals will made up of four teams managed by coaches, not by philosophers. Zidane, Valverde, Heynckes and Klopp are all coaches, not revolutionary philosophers like Pep, Sarri or Sacchi. Or at least, I wouldn't call Klopp's gegenpress a philosophy. The first three of the semifinalists are able to get the best out of group of superstars and turn them into a collective unit whilst the latter is able to turn a mediocre squad into something far better than simply the sum of its parts. Essentially, they are doing what Ferguson did at United. No fancy ideology, just effective football. Last time a philosopher won Champions League was in 2011, that was 7 years ago and arguably Pep had the greatest squad in history at his disposal at the time. After that it's been Di Matteo, Heynckes, Ancelotti, Enrique and Zidane – all coaches. What we need is someone like Klopp and I honestly thought Conte would be that person. However he continues to field players that are physically unable to do what Liverpool players are doing. Alonso and Fabregas among others need to go, and eventually we need to stop playing with three at the back if we want to play proactive and aggressive football. If Klopp was the manager at this club he would probably play something like this: Hazard - Morata - Pedro Willian - Kante - Midfielder like Ox/Milner (maybe even Bakayoko or Drinky? Imagine if we could put Keita here next season) Emerson - Rudiger - Christensen/Luiz - Azpilicueta Courtois That's more than good enough to play aggressive, attacking-minded heavy metal football and beat teams like City the way Liverpool do.
-
I'd rather go after de Vrij who's out of contract, years younger and equally talented
-
It hurts to watch Cesc trying to run! The guy must be in pain as well by the looks of it
-
I understand where you're coming from but I wouldn't go as far as making judgements about his character based on his current form or about his lack of playing time under Mourinho. Let's remember that this guy had his leg in pieces two years ago, and he could have just quit the sport and spend rest of his life in the Caribbean knowing that he has the money to do so. Instead he fought back from that terrible injury, which to me shows that he isn't your average snowflake. He doesn't look very fit at the moment and despite still being was relatively good yesterday Mourinho decided to sub him off for some unknown reason. In my opinion a proper summer fitness regime and manager that actually trusts him (and allows him to play like a normal modern left-back) could do wonders and lift him up back to the level we saw prior to his injury.
-
Mourinho is absolutely clueless when it comes to (modern) fullbacks. I've said it before and I'll say it again, if Luke Shaw is leaving United, we should definitely try to get him.
-
Time to play Emerson. We need to know if the guy is good enough and Alonso has played in nearly every game this season. He has to be exhausted at this point
-
I can't stand him anymore. Place him into the reserves for the rest of the season and recall Mason Mount.
