  1. Great play by Hazard and a fine penalty too. Let's not stop playing now!
  2. We'll have most of the possession and probably a handful of good chances because this United team is far from being as solid at the back as classic Mourinho teams . Can we finish our chances? If yes, then we'll win, I have no doubt about that. I'd go for a 3-5-2 with both Morata and Giroud up front. United defence wouldn't be able to handle all them crosses coming towards Morata and Giroud whilst trying to man mark Hazard. Azpilicueta - Cahill - Rudiger Moses - Kante - Bakayoko - Emerson Hazard Morata - Giroud
  3. What else does he have to do to make the team next season?
  4. Slightly surprised to see that the FA Cup final is held on same day as the very important royal wedding.
  5. So Sarri + Jorginho + another Napoli player to Chelsea?
  6. 'Right club' can mean so many different things, not just the manager or the starting eleven at a given loan destination. It's also the structure of the club, the culture, the language, the city, the training facilities and so many other things. All these things contribute to the happiness and performance of these very very young guys. Loanees aren't regarded as long-term solutions at these clubs either, and thus managers have no problem putting them on the bench unlike with their own talents. Sometimes everything just works out perfectly as in the case of Christensen and Courtois. Many times, as we've seen, talented or semi-talented young players have failed to perform at the loan club for some reason and haven't reached their full potential. If Harry Kane was a Chelsea academy graduate, he would probably be playing in the Championship right now. Let's remember that when he went out on loan, he didn't set the world alight and wasn't regarded as anything special. Despite him being mediocre on loan (5 goals in 18 games in the Championship), he was given a chance at Spurs and never looked back. Fast forward couple years and many see him as one of the best strikers in the game. I think Mason Mount has performed well enough on loan and should be in the first team next season. He has done everything that was asked of him and then some. Sending him out on loan for another year despite stellar performances is sending a wrong kind of message not just to him but to all the other loanees and youth players in the academy as well.
  7. van Basten-esque! Would have been goal of the season
  8. I would take him off and bring on Willian And it has to be said, Bakayoko has been good today
  9. Conte is probably the only person on the planet who thinks starting Alonso against Salah is a good idea
  10. Alonso? Are you kidding me Conte
  11. Goes without saying that other rivals shouldn't sell us their players for their own good. It was a major mistake by Arsenal to give us Giroud, for example. When was the last time other top6 team apart from Arsenal sold us anyone? As far I can tell, we've been the ones supplying them both directly and indirectly (as in the case of KDB and Salah). That being said, I of course wouldn't mind getting Martial, Shaw or Rashford in the summer
  12. I hope he does. It might make the board more aware of the talent that we have in the academy and on loan. Selling talented players to rivals needs to end.
  13. Unlike with AVB, we also have a squad that is capable of playing football Sarri way. When AVB came, he wanted to play high line with John Terry, Luiz and Ivanovic (suicide), wanted to play tiki-taka with Mikel and Ramires in midfield (lol), the old core players were aging and our only real winger was Salomon Kalou. My god that squad was absolute rubbish. Our current line-up, despite lacking characters like JT, Drogba, Cole, Cech and Lamps, is miles ahead of what we had in 2011-12. We do, however, need to bring in 3-4 new midfielders (maybe Seri, Jorginho, Mount, van Ginkel?) for Sarri's football to work but besides that we're good to go IMO. Hazard, Morata, Giroud, Willian, Pedro, Emerson, Christensen, Rudiger among others are built to play possession-based football and the likes of Kante and Azpilicueta aren't bad at all either with a ball in their feet. Youngsters like Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi are also well suited for Sarri's tactics. Only question mark in addition to our midfield is Courtois. He hasn't impressed me one bit with his ball control or distribution. There are probably a dozen goalkeepers in the Premier League with a better ability in this regard.
  14. Judging by the two games against Real, in his current form he's hardly any better than Morata. And he isn't getting any younger...
  15. It would be borderline lunacy to hire Allegri when you can get Sarri. One offers a new direction to the club in terms of overall playing style and philosophy whilst the other offers a recipe that's no different from what we've been seeing under Mourinho and Conte. Everyone seems to want change and that won't happen under Allegri, which is why I would be surprised if we end up with him instead of Sarri.
  16. The man never learns. Martial is another Salah in the making
  17. The best signing the club has done since Kante.
  18. I still haven't seen a bad game from Giroud in Chelsea shirt. Great signing
  19. Spurs still nowhere near winning an actual trophy. I have a feeling we've might just have a chance getting past them in the league standings if they can't handle this result.
  20. Shocking that those are the only options. Could we rather just play Christensen as a holding midfielder or something for the rest of the season? Very important win today!
