This is not even about zonal marking or any fancy initiative. This is simple man on man marking. And you put a young small guy on a big attacking defender. And it was not a mistake as Gilcrest was picking him up again in the next set piece.

Footballing IQ goes a long way as well. Thiago Silva for example has always been good in set pieces, even though he's not that tall.

We've had the same issue for years. Talk about Anthony Barry being key to fixing that up prior to joining Bayern, but we have been suspect to them for far too long.

Near miss? It came from him, so that was 100% chance of being missed given his shooting ability: the worst I've seen in a while. There no talent there for me. Nothing at all. He's likely the worst attacking player I've seen at a big club in like 10 years. Honestly I can't remember worse.
