The process will accelerate towards the end of the season and I do expect an appointment early in the summer (@David_Ornstein) That means it will be someone who is currently still under contract with another club!! Xavi isn’t available, Xabi Alonso isn’t available, Filipe Luis isn’t available, Iraola isn’t available since he’s definitely leaving and no longer has a contract with Bournemouth. Marco Silva isn’t available since his contract also expires on June 30, 2026. Glasner is definitely leaving Palace and doesn’t have a contract beyond 2026. I think it could be one of these: -Fabregas (2028) -Nagelsmann (2028) -Lampard (2027) -Jaissle (2027) -Farioli (2028) -McKenna (2028) 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

I seem to be saying that a lot recently, but the Brighton game was a new low. I’ve been a fan since the late 80s, so to say that really means something I know fans disagree on various issues right now, and even people on this site I know disagree with me on some things, which is totally fair, we all have different perspectives. But for me, honestly, right now its not about who was right or wrong all along, or whether we disagree on certain things, because I think every fan agrees what we’re seeing right now is an utter disgrace. We can disagree why or about various semantics, but the bottom line is I’m absolutely furious and I think every Chelsea fan will be, and we have an absolute right to be. What’s happening with the men’s team especially right now is an absolute disgrace from top to bottom, and I think everyone agrees on that. Bad recruitment, bad decisions, bad appointments, a lack of accountability, disconnect with the fans. It’s all horrible. Liam Rosenior has gone, but that’s not enough. He was a symptom of the problems, not the deeper problem itself. There needs to be wider change. For starters, the Sporting Directors, Paul Winstanley & Laurence Stewart, need to go. They built this mess of a squad, and its their mentality of never taking responsibility which has seeped down into it. After three and a half years in their roles, we have one Champions League qualification out of their three full seasons, and two relatively minor trophies despite spending £1.6 billion, coupled with this season’s disaster, there have to be consequences. They cannot be in charge of the appointment of the next head coach or this summer’s recruitment. Liam Rosenior should never have been offered the Chelsea job. It was way too early in his career, he wasn’t ready, and was out of depth. He may be a talented coach, and I feel a degree of sympathy with the fact he came into the job in a tough situation. However I have to say, he was was arguably the worst Chelsea manager I’ve seen in my lifetime, certainly for 35 years. The ownership too, absolutely need to own up to their part in this and make radical changes in terms of strategy, recruitment and structure, it simply cannot go on like this. The players aren’t innocent here either. I know they’ve played a LOT of football in the last two years, and frankly they’re on fumes right now, mentally and physically. But that’s no excuse for recent performances, where they seem to have just downed tools and given up. There’s been total lack of effort, a lack of pride, no fight, no spirit, no work ethic. That’s totally unacceptable. Every single of one of those players should be ashamed of themselves. Even if they’re totally fatigued and worn out, even if the coach isn’t great, even if they want to leave or don’t like the ownership, players should still be professional and make an effort. This is an absolute non negotiable for me, at all times. Players should still fight for the shirt. They should still put in 100% every minute of every game, and show some pride in the shirt, and just as professional footballers. I’ve not seen that for a while, and all I hear from players in interviews is pathetic excuses and trying to pass the buck, as if they’re innocent victims in all this. No, they’re not, they’re part of it, and this attitude is in part a result of this toxic culture which has been created by the people above them. Everyone involved in the men’s side is culpable here. Ownership, sporting directors, coaching staff and players. Its an absolute disgrace to the badge. So many fans feel completely disconnected, many long term ones too. My dad’s been a fan since the 1950’s, even he feels disconnected right now. When that kind of thing is happening, its a huge red flag. I’ll be honest, although I rate a fair amount of players in our current squad, the only players I feel a real connection to right now are Reece James, Levi Colwill, and maybe Moises Caicedo. They get what Chelsea means, they understand the responsibility, respect the fans and almost always give their all (when fit). Estevao and Jarrol Hato haven’t yet been corrupted by the toxic culture and have generally shown up when its been tough in recent games. I’d quite happily see half this squad sold, if I’m honest. Instead of whining and agitating to leave, maybe some of them should look at themselves and their recent performances. Because big clubs watching them won’t be impressed with their attitude to dealing with conflict, or their performance levels. I’d genuinely rather have a squad who all fight for the shirt and care about the club, and want to be here, finishing 6th every year and winning some cups, than have a bunch of players who think they’re better than they actually are, and are ready to leave at the first sign of trouble. We had a good season last year, top 4 and two trophies, and some want to leave after one really poor season, which they have been a part of? Nah, that’s not it for me. They can go, absolutely spineless. Truth is everyone involved needs to take a long hard look in the mirror. No one is exempt. Because what I’m seeing, isn’t Chelsea Football Club. The lack of fight, the excuses, hiring poor unproven managers, having people running the football side who aren’t best in class, a lack of understanding of what this club means, disrespecting fans, its all horrible. Then there’s the amount we’ve spent. Chelsea’s net spend is £850m under this ownership (£1.6b overall), but even for that money, to have this run of results and be 7th in the Premier League over three years in, is simply unacceptable. The Sporting Directors positions are, to me, simply untenable. It truly was a dark day for the club against Brighton, because it wasn’t Chelsea anymore, from anyone representing our club. The away fans, again, huge respect to them, travelling down midweek, showing up to watch that crap. Then staying to the end, and letting the players and club know how they feel. They do us proud, they keep going and cheering us on even when its awful. Suffice to say, as we all know, big changes are needed. Sporting directors, head coach, squad, and a big cultural reset too. There’s simply not a choice here, that has to happen. I think a public apology from all concerned is in order too. Admit they got it wildly wrong, commit to change and then actually do it. Do I think this will happen? No idea to be honest. But it certainly cannot go on like this any more, this isn’t Chelsea. As fans said last night, we want our Chelsea back. The Score

But the fact John Terry continues to be ignored by the club is an absolute disgrace and pure farce. Terry coming in as interim now would have been a no brainer. Five games, cannot get much worse, and someone in the dressing room to put a rocket up the ass of these weak minded players. I can tell you one thing, if Terry would have been in charge this Sunday, we won’t be speaking about how Chelsea’s players don’t run enough. We won’t be speaking about a lack of effort and desire. If anyone was out on that pitch not giving their all, they’d be dragged off by Terry, quite literally. I don’t care about what experience he has or hasn’t got. At this stage, we need someone in their to kick ass, motivate the players, make them play for the badge and the fans, and give absolutely everything for the cause. The club clearly fear him and the influence he could have. It’s been reported that he wanted the role (of course he did), and that the players were even keen on it. If the players were keen on it happening then he should 100% have gotten it. Yes, it might have been a complete disaster. But what’s to say Callum McFarlane wont be a complete disaster? These players are in a right state at the moment, someone like Terry with his stature would demand their respect at the very least. They would listen to him, and believe me, ain’t nobody mocking him. He’s a legend of Chelsea and one of the best defenders to ever play the game. What’s not to like? But the way our club legend is being treated by Blueco is disgusting and I’ll never forget or forgive this. But it doesn’t surprise, just look at how they’ve treated all the other ‘Chels’ they’ve had at the club…. I’m sure they’ll just tell us he has a bad attitude or is too full of himself, or causes issues or whatever else they find in the Blueco PR playbook.

I'd be interested to know what people think of the decision to play all of CFCW's WSL games at Stamford Bridge from next season onward? It seems clear to me that the squad have been in favour of this for a long time but, I must say, that this decision is not popular with a large majority of the Kingsmeadow faithful I know. A significant percentage of them have said that they will give up their season tickets and either not go at all or pick and choose their games. That said I have always felt, and argued, that if we are to grow the match going supporter base it will be Stamford Bridge which drives the growth, not KM.

🚨 Xabi Alonso would be a popular pick with supporters, but i have no knowledge of him being an option at this stage. Chelsea have made it clear for a preference of premier league experience with players this summer, and it would not be surprise me if the same applied to the new manager search. It feels like the obvious choice to stay at Como and build towards an opening at a big club but there's no telling that Como keep up their progress and no telling whether Cesc as coach stays hot for another 2 years. Most coaches fired by Chelsea will face no trouble bouncing back because you can always show clubs that you've got the chops and you were hamstrung by the owners. Maresca is an early favorite for the City job, Tuchel managed Bayern and England, even Potter got a gig with Sweden and guided them to the WC.

Don’t know, seems more likely he stays at Como than comes here. He has some sense. Believe he turned down the Inter Milan job previously. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does another 12-24 months at Como before leaving. For a better job than here. They are pushing very hard for European football this season and were unlucky not to make the cup final. The progression has been huge since getting promoted. If they get European football why would he want to give that up to come to a team that could still finish in the bottom half of the table 😂 Plus in all likelihood, even if he did consider it, the managers job here will be available again at least twice over the next 18-24 months. Lets not get our hopes up that this shower of useless cunts will make the right appointment. They haven’t done anything to convince anyone otherwise. I don’t think the head coach role here will ever be something that will pass certain people by with these owners, whereas before with Roman, it definitely would’ve. We are going to keep hiring amateurs because it is run by amateurs. So inevitably they will keep having to look for new managers.

Very much a vibes pick. Seems like a bad idea with our unstable squad right now. But Cesc has a lot more experience than Lampard did - he's been going up against Gasperini, Allegri in the Serie A and holding his own. Also, Como are pretty well run and have signed a lot of foreign players through talent IDing - pretty much doing a good version of our operation on a much lower scale and budget.

Cesc wouldnt win too much respect for what he's done as a coach thus far but he has the charisma and due to his skill and experiences as a player and captain he knows what it takes to be a top player. Iraolo has more coaching experience,good record developing talent and generally getting the maximum out of players,good balance between nurturing and tough love.also I thought previously he would just go back to Spain.but I've read he actually has a desire to stay in Prem and relocate to London. Those 2 I think would be the best we could get. Silva seems an option but despite an upgrade over majority of recent hires. Despite his much longer experience he is the king of the low expectations family clubs.

My worry with Cesc would be that something similar to Lampard would happen. Once the initial feel good factor wears off and he’s got to manage a massive club against elite managers and opponents in a super high pressure environment, he could be exposed as the relative novice that he is. For me, I feel like our next manager MUST be someone with lots of experience at a high level.

Rather lose this one than one more fucking final in Wembley.. Don't really see how we'd beat City in the final, hence I am not excited about this at all. To qualify for Europa League, we have to win the whole competition, right? Lost final won't take us there, will it?

The issue with facing Leeds is they play a game we cannot deal with, they just take the game to team no matter who they are and only play one way. They are aggressive, physical and they have some very effective and ready players. I can see us losing this 2-0 as I do not see anything changing from Rosenior's tenure this quickly. We have a habit of hiding at Wembley and with these gutless players I can just see a rinse and repeat of this. It would be nice to see the so called big players stepping up but this maybe a bit much to ask.

In all honesty, he should have been sacked right after the PSG game. They basically gave him a month to figure it out and everyone could see that he was well out of his depth in that Newcastle game at home. The Everton result was expected, City are in the title race and they decided to actually score a few goals, United another pathetic performance at home with the usual Delap cardio session and Brighton was just public humiliation. Brighton could have won that game 5-0 by half time if they wanted to.

It doesn't matter who it will be these clowns need to hand full control of the management over and step the fuck away. This should also be only asking the manager what heeds and who he needs and then it's over to them, none of this 'here you go he's good and deal with him' sitting down, discussing targets, experience, where and type of player, this has to be the way forward or the next one will be gone withing months. Also, what needs to happen with the new appointment is if we hit a bad patch is not to fire from the hip and let things take their course. This sacking and appointment of the project puppet should be the biggest wake up call to every single SD and owner involved at this club. In fact what we have just witnessed should be the biggest wake up call to everyone at this club including the players. We need to go back to the dominant and big Chelsea, not the soft baby that everyone takes the piss out of, right now we are all of that.
