Tony Benn proposed five essential questions to ask those in power, aimed at promoting accountability and democracy: "What power have you got? Where did you get it from? In whose interests do you use it? To whom are you accountable? How do we get rid of you?" The Five Questions What power have you got? This question seeks to clarify the nature and extent of the power held by an individual or institution. It encourages transparency about the authority and influence one possesses. Where did you get it from? This question addresses the source of power, prompting individuals to reflect on how they acquired their authority—whether through democratic means, inheritance, or other methods. In whose interests do you use it? This question challenges the individual to consider the beneficiaries of their power. It emphasizes the importance of understanding whose needs and interests are being served by their actions. To whom are you accountable? This question focuses on accountability, asking individuals to identify who holds them responsible for their actions and decisions. It highlights the necessity of having mechanisms in place for oversight and responsibility. How do we get rid of you? This provocative question underscores the democratic principle that power should be transient and subject to change. It encourages citizens to think about their rights to challenge and remove those in power if they do not serve the public interest Tony Benn's questions are designed to foster a culture of accountability and transparency in governance. They serve as a tool for citizens to critically engage with those in power, ensuring that leaders remain answerable to the public. Benn believed that democracy is not just about voting but also about ongoing scrutiny and the ability to challenge authority.

Poor Pikeys, sold a dream of a wonderful stadium and champions league football, now they are protesting and could be relegated

Good chance Nuno gets the sack this season as well. Horrific lack of effort by West Sham. Horrid team, horrid owners. If Brentford was just slightly more clinical it would have 5 nil or 6 nil.

You didn't see after two CL games? 👀
-
We signed two squad players and both of them are out till December/January (Delap/Essugo) 😄
-
It would be interesting to see if Facundo was registered for UCL. If so, he could play the 10 and then Gittens - Estevao on the wings with Neto off the bench.

JP is suspended. He got sent off against Benfica. Got that second yellow just before the game. I think Estevao maybe at no.10 with Gittens and Neto out wide.

EXCL: Chelsea still looking at signing former Man City player despite transfer move in the summer https://siphillipstalkschelsea.substack.com/p/excl-Chelsea-still-looking-at-signing Chelsea are busy working in the background as we approach another transfer window opening up this window. Whilst January is never going to be as busy as summer transfer windows simply because they are longer and no club really wants to let players go mid-season, there are a few potential situations building up and Chelsea will always be looking at opportunities. Although I wouldn’t be putting this transfer story into that category right now, it is an interesting one to watch for sure. SPTC Sources have revealed that Chelsea are still very much in the frame for former Manchester City attacking midfielder James McAtee, despite him making a move to Nottingham Forest in the summer. As we reported in the summer, Chelsea very much looked at signing McAtee then as well but in the end did not make the move, and he duly signed for Forest. He signed a contract at the club until 2030 but that has not put Chelsea off or ended their interest in the 23-year-old. He is a player that very much stays on Chelsea’s shortlist and it could certainly be one to watch next summer. McAtee is another Joe Shields recommendation and a player who is universally liked at Chelsea, not just by Shields. One to keep an eye on in the near future.

Wharton is the Enzo replacement for me Kenan Yıldız OR Semenyo for LW Rogers at AMF AND share time at LW with the one of the 2 above we buy Flush the insane amount of turds we now have at LW down the loo: Sterling, Muddy-Druggy, Garnacho, and Gittens.
-
Enzo won't be here too much longer, we have enough flare players to sink a battleship

different positions, different style of players

I found this on Delap Liam Delap is expected to return after the November international break, with a target of December for his full return to the Chelsea squad. Initially, he was expected to be out for 10-12 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in late August, but his recovery is reportedly going well.
-
Has there been an update on Delap's return?
