18 month loan with option to buy.

Good business.

SportItalia's @AlfredoPedulla claims there is an agreement between Chelsea and Juve for the 18-month loan of Higuain with a buy-out option set in 2020. https://t.co/qdV5faGhEs

Ohhh...Pedulla.  I wish we could get a Pedulla quote, I do love seeing them.

18 month loan still gives us the opportunity to buy a young striker in the summer.  Besides Icardi, there are no available (and I'm not sure he's even available) strikers in the proven commodity + prime years just ahead category.  Everyone else is a risk and will have to be a younger player, and a good chance that they won't be able to lead the line for us on a regular basis.

Personally I think he is the best choice SHORT TERM aka until this season is over. But a buy out option in the summer of 2020? Like a few months before he turns 33? Have to admit I don't see the logic behind all this and smells like bs if you ask me. I mean I know this board has this habit for a lot of fuck ups lately but surely they can't be that dumb can they?

Option to buy is probably just a token gesture on our behalf, i very much doubt we would active it.

They said the same thing Morata under Conte, i wasen't fooled from the beginning.

Look EPL is just not a very favorable league to 30+ years old strikers, never mind to a newcomer to the league. The league is ultra demanding physically. At this stage of his career it seems like bad recipe to try give it a go in the PL, at this age players usually attempts to move to a less intense league to keep up with their diminishing body.

6 months is ideal but 18 months works if we don't buy him.  Still a lot of wages to be paid but not nearly as bad as buying him.  18 months I guess gives us a bit of cushion to work on someone this summer.

Two birds one stone.  Get it done. 6 months is pointless because if he is a success Juve will ramp up the price. Hes worth the risk for 18 months, definitely.

Also hes on a decline? Are you joking? Hes at an average Milan side, where Andre Silva couldnt even score goals last season and is thriving at Seville....

I dont think they will let us have him on a 18 month loan tho. Granny doesn't seem sold on him in the 1st place and on £270k a week its tremendous .

He will surprise many people :)

I really hope we are. I did have high hopes when the idea originally came up. And IF we had a number 1 striker and just wanted a backup om loan Id say great. But as a number 1 hes not got the figures - or the figure!

I think i'll need viagra to get excited by this deal , ffs Chelsea pensioners by nickname , our combined striker age 63(imho we needed a  younger ,agile, faster, striker ) talk about 1 dimensional strikeforce what a joke , love to see how quickly he adapts to the premiership pace+settles in ,on Sarri's head be it !

So Emerson came up during discussions, but Alonso didn't. They'd rather have our back-up full back. Speaks volumes.

Considering he'd only be a back up to Alex Sandro it makes sense, hes an Italian NT player and Juve wanted him years ago. Hes hardly going to be a massive loss, swear the consensus here is that Emerson is much more than a tactically naive average full back? If Alonso wasn't playing so poorly/wasnt average nobody would care lets be frankly honest. Just means we need to look for another LB. Perhaps one Sarri can trust and will use ahead of Alonso? Or will we just keep players who clearly arent valued by the manager and persist to burn everyone out?
