Imagine....yet Sarri wants him so bad to lead the line and guarantee us top 4 finish...I can't comprehend how Higuain will not struggle particularly this late into the season and we all know how harsh the pace of the league is...

As for speed, Higuain is quite slow indeed and he would be useless in counter football, but the way we play with possesion, all we need is someone with good link up, hold up and positioning, all that Higuain has. He will probably miss some sitters, but still nowhere near as many as Morata. 

Fact is we need striker in january and Higuain might be best solution. He will score a couple goals to win us some games which should help us to top 4 finish. Thats all that matters now. We can focus on searching for 20+ goals a season striker in summer.

But now they are saying 18 month loan, with obligation to by at end, and its £54m!

Thats a disaster if true

Express Sport understands Juventus have rejected an initial six-month loan deal for the Argentine striker.

Higuain is currently on loan at AC Milan but wants to join his former coach Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.

Juventus want to sell Higuain outright for £36m.

But Chelsea have proposed a long-term loan, with them taking over the remaining six months of Milan’s lease on the player.

They then want to take the Argentine on loan for next season as well for an £18m fee, followed by a permanent deal in the summer of 2020.

Juventus are reluctant to go for another loan move but could be persuaded with clauses for the deal to be made permanent if Chelsea finish in the top four or win the Europa League.

Chelsea are also in advanced talks with Zenit St Petersburg over a £31m deal for Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes.

Also, how the fuck did Paredes' price magically just go up £5m? A few hours ago it was £26m.

Barella now would only cost £14m more. That £45m price was confirmed by Cagliari.

If Zenit tries the old Juve oki doke and takes it up to £36m the next time, we need to just buy Barella and loan him back till June.

If those are really the conditions then we need to pull the plug. 6m loan or bust. No one wants another has been lingering on too long. Sarri will hopefully not be around till 2020 anyway

The point being, agreeing to sign him for the sum of 36M is crazy based on his age. The club need a quick fix and now, we do not want to be stuck with a ageing striker as we are going back over old ground.

Come the summer, we need a top class striker.

31 years. there are a lot of players in top form at 31-32-33 years

the fact that a guy like batshuay is young, doesn't mean that he will reach higuain's level at all

many young players' best quality is their young age, and when they are on the pitch their age does'nt help them

If the terms were right I wouldn't be against an 18 month loan if it smoothed negotiations to get him in now and on the assumption we "clear the decks" with our strikers in the summer (Morata, Giroud, Batshuayi, possibly Abraham).because it still would allow us to focus on buying a new striker in the summer with a much more long term thinking (if it was someone say like Jovic or Piatek), without the immediate pressures of coming into the club and hitting the ground running if we still had someone like Higuain here.

The problem in all of this is Juventus wanting an obligation to buy if that is true because that would be ludicrous. But apparently from reports Milan weren't going to buy Higuain permanently so they could not have had an obligation to buy, I assume they had merely an option to buy. An option to buy becomes irrelevant because we can just pass on the option.

milan has an option to buy, but reality is that they have to buy him

because they can't pay 18 mil for a loan plus 9 mil to the player: ie 27 mil of red in their counts

all these voices about higuain are due to the wish of sarri to have him, and the wish of higuain to be trained by sarri
