I don't disagree that the transfer window should close when the season starts, but isn't it ironic that both RM and Pulis are the two that are having a fanny fit over it the most. This isn't new, this is something that has been going on for a long time now.

Everton are trying to duplicate their red friends....ya know, victims!!

Martinez- "The transfer window should be closed when the season starts!"

Journalist- "So, Roberto, how many players do you hope to bring in before the deadline?"

Martinez- "We're expecting to bring in 3 more players."

Fucking hypocrite.

Everton are trying to prove that they are not a small club by refusing to sell and keeping a player against his will, something a big club would never do.

Stubbornness beyond stupidity, especially if you consider that 37m could have improved their team drastically and they won't be getting that kind of money for him in the future.

transfer window should shut prior to season starting.

clubs wouldn`t be able to drag their feet for so long then when open to selling a player.and if somebody gets injured early only teams with big squad depth could cope without being able to raid other clubs. so teams like Everton would suffer. Everton only signed 3 players prior to the season starting..they have signed more since.

And one of those players he said he brought in to 'help his development'.

What about Stones' development by being allowed to join Chelsea and work under JT and Jose.

The hypocrisy is so damn obvious it's laughable. The man is a fraud.

Nothing wrong with Martinez trying to keep his best players, we would have done the same. He is doing what is best for the team and not giving away players just due to a high bid. Even though he knows that they can't be but atlas he is trying to make Everton a top team. Appreciate this guys efforts instead of calling him stupid

No, we would not have kept a playet who handed in his transfer request. Mata and Cech are perfect examples.

you'd think a reporter would have noticed this blatant hypocrisy and asked him about it by now but most reporters today are a joke

We kept Malouda for a season but I don't remember the details. He wanted out, we buried him the reserves, but he had unrealistic wage demands or something? I'm sure there are many on here who followed that saga much closer than I and can remember.

False, Malouda didn't want to lower his wages to have a deal completed.. He was given the door and he didn't use wanted to collect all his wages owed for that season before moving on a free for less money

Thanks. Knew it had something to do with wages.

Jesus but he is to stay there in such a toxic atmosphere for longer , only to hurt the players confidence and mentality

But it's okay. After all, Martinez said Stones is in the "perfect environment" at Everton.
