  1. 1. Who you want to see as the new manager?

If Roman really is serious, he should put his ego away, hand The Special One a blank check and tell him to write in however much he wants to get him back at Stamford Bridge. However, I think Roman may want a guy who would be cheaper to fire in 12-24 months if things don't work out, so I would put my money on Villas-Boas.

Villas-Boas - My vote, although he might want to take Porto into the Champions League.(If he does come, hope he brings Hulk with him.)

Guardiola - More likely than Mourinho if you ask me, although I don't know how good you have to be to get something out of this Barca side.

van Basten - A good option, but not my choice.

Hiddink - Don't we want a long term manager, Hiddink isn't that much younger than Ferguson and has spoken of retirement.

Mourinho - I don't think there is any chance of him leaving Real till he's finished the business unless he's sacked.

Rijkard - The man who built the current Barcelona, great option for rebuilding, my second choice.

Bielsa - Scolari 2.0

Benitez - NO, PLEASE NO!

Zola -Assistant Manager, not the main man.

Someone else - Ian Holloway, plays good football.(massive stretch)

I voted Villas-Boas as he seems the logical and more likely option.

Although I think we would all LOVE to see Jose return and finish the job he started, the same with Guus, he was a breathe of fresh air for the club during his 5 month stay.

Redknaap isnt an option in my book.

Please please PLEASE dont hire someone like Benitez, or Avram lol.

If Van Basten is hired as amanger, may aswell says good bye to CL glory in the next year. And so it seems the same old story has carried on, one man comes and goes. This time, he brought success and had the oppertunity to do it once again and failed but was never given the second chance. To say that Carlo was Roman's ideal choice, to treat as such is so fucking wrong! I don't care who is next in the firing line, because with the way this club is being run - it is hard to see that we will ever win the CL.

Wouldnt mind Van Basten, he is young enough with some great ideas will be a fresh start! Villas boas will obviously give the same, im also a big of Rjikaard! Anyone but Pep I think he is very over-rated, cant think of one good signing he has made bar maybe Dani Alves

Good assessment.

But what i find shocking is that people wanted a top coach like Carlo out, to get a lesser coach like Van Basten.....

Most likely we will be saying Sack Van Basten again, and most likely by the same people that ask for Carlo head....

So gutted :fainthv9: I actually feel rather embarresd to be a CFC supporter. Carlo was a awsome man and had soooo much potential, Isnt our apparant holy grail the CL? then why the fuck fire Carl who is a CL specialist. Anyways want Roman wants Roman gets, I hope what Roman wants from here is Villas Boas lol. UP Blues the next few weeks should be fairly intresting, not only in he market for players but also a Manager.

This is what Wiki has to say about Van Basten...since most likely that will be our new manager:

As a manager, he soon established himself as a man of strong principles. Van Basten famously dropped regulars like Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Kluivert, Edgar Davids and Roy Makaay and benched Mark van Bommel, because he believed that they were either past their prime or constantly underachieving.

There were also calls for van Basten to call up Dennis Bergkamp, who had retired from the national team six years earlier for a final "hurrah" as he was retiring that season. Van Basten then revealed to the media that he never intended to do so despite Bergkamp's own willingness.

For probably the first time in decades, none of the "Big Three" Clubs (AFC Ajax, PSV, and Feyenoord) provided the backbone for the national team. Instead, newcomer AZ led the way with players such as Denny Landzaat, Barry Opdam, Barry van Galen, Ron Vlaar, Jan Kromkamp and Joris Mathijsen. Other unheralded choices were Khalid Boulahrouz, Hedwiges Maduro, Ryan Babel and Romeo Castelen selected. Van Basten had also wanted to include Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou, but was thwarted when Kalou was denied Dutch citizenship by the immigration authorities headed by Rita Verdonk. Kalou eventually accepted a call-up to play for Côte d'Ivoire.

Under his guidance, the team were unbeaten in their World Cup qualification group and made it through the group stages at the FIFA World Cup 2006, but were eliminated in a frenzied 1–0 loss to Portugal in the Round of 16. Van Basten was heavily criticised for dropping Ruud van Nistelrooy (who had scored 28 goals for the Netherlands) before this game, in favour of Dirk Kuyt, who did not score throughout the entire tournament.

So from what i see here, he is a coach that gives chances to new blood, which is what most are asking here....
