lionsden 4,689
Jurgen Klopp? We don't have a single German player and I believe he wants to lead Germany to EURO12. He's a great coach though :eyebrows:His nosepicking is epic too XDAs for Guus, It would be good to have him a few years and then go for Guardiola/Boas or who becomes available unless Guus wants to stay, but he ain't young anymore though. We can always get a German translator. That shouldn't be too costly  If we actually show real interest, we can realistically get klopp. Hiring Guus for short term purposes can only undermine our long term objectives imo. Guest justin_3d
BTW i like Roberto Martinez a lot.Great coach that tries to play good football with a very weak side. People say we should take a gamble with a young coach like Van Basten. I say, heck if that's the case then i rather take a gamble with Roberto Martinez! Sheva. 5,373
http://www.mirrorfoo...icle740139.htmlI would honestly love this. Hiddink to steady the ship and get everything in place for Villas Boas or Pep to take over the following season.

steve5221 91
Just saw this. Would be a perfect scenario. The Mirror is the worst possible paper in relation to true stories out thier, so I would take it with a pinch of salt. The best indicator is to check the latest bookie odds. This morning Hiddink is 2/1, Van Basten 5/2 and Redknapp is shortened to 3/1......
LDN Blue 7,903
I'd hate that.Have Hiddink for just one season is pointless. We should look to appoint a long-term manager now, or else what was the point of sacking Carlo Ancelotti when he was into his final year of his contract? He loves Hiddink so it all depends on what he wants to do. The papers are saying that should Turkey lose to Belgium on 3rd June, he will resign and take the Chelsea job. Remember though a long term manger for us is 2 seasons!!. Personally I am leaning towards Redknapp. I'd like to see what a season of attacking football would bring, with an already strong defence in place. The squad needs rebuilding, and seeing as Hiddink has already been advising the club on their summer targets (allegedly), as well as acting as a consultant, he would be the perfect candidate to oversee this. Peace. 4,352
Agreed with LDN.This is the summer where we will buy and sell a lot of players, in other terms this is the summer where we will build a new team. And that's to be our new manager, ie the one who's supposed to be our long-term manager, who has to choose those players. Well, not really 'to choose', because it seems Roman and Hiddink have already selected... But at least give his opinion.. You know my point.Perhaps there's another solution : we choose right now the man who's gonna succed Hiddink, ask him what kind of players he wants et al, and let Hiddink to prepare him the way. That's a bit hard to achieve and a bit risky though...
