What i dont understand is why boas wants to wait for the players to come back and then buy new players or sell players?

Its totally clear that he should sell players like anelka malouda.. And that he has to buy a rb a winger and a CAM!

We missed out on thiago already and will miss out on other players if we wait tooo long!

I hope he already knows the players and it is impossible for him to see who he should buy after 1 or 2 weeks of pre season training!

he will know the players strengths and weaknesses already, atleast the regular 1st team players. but i think it`s more a case of talking to them one to one and checking the players mindset for the way forward,to see if they are willing to fight for their places,play in the new system etc.. i don`t believe it will be a case of them having a trial on a pitch in Cobham to see if they are still good enough. he will have plenty of time before the 6th to watch plenty of game footage from last year to evaluate their play.

the names you mentioned may very well leave but he may want to tell them face to face rather than through the media.

all that said..it would not surprise me atall if it`s a smoke screen and we end up buying somebody before the 6th.

I tell you what its been along time I have been this excited for the club, there looks to be a vision in place for once and not just look like something thrown together, AVB fills you with confidence during that press conference, he has a plan he knows what he wants and he is implementing it as we speak, like he said the whole club is being restructured and he looks to be in the driving seat with roman over seeing the restructure.

Its great to finally have a young hungry and eager to prove a point manager again, not since jose signing have I been this happy and optimistic going into a new season I really cannot wait to see what he does with the squad as the backroom is getting an overhaul and in the right areas im sure he will get the player transfers right as well.

I hope its all politics. If he and the board truly believe that the current squad is good enough to win anything more important than FA Cup and we only need 2 or 3 players...then we and Villas- Boas job are in trouble.

I did not liked that at all. He did not need to say he is satisfied with the squad, it doesnt mean he is supposed to say the squad is rubbish.

And you are wrong, we need an overhaul, but probably they will only buy 2 or 3 singings because they dont wont to spend more, but we do need more than 2 or 3 singings.
