Aside from his first season at City, he's generally had everything his own way and doesn't know what to do when Plan A fails. There's no taking that away from him. He's broken records everywhere he's been, so this period will probably be forgotten soon, whether he remains at City or takes an INT job. On a side note, some of his squad choices still baffle me. Going into a season with Haaland as your sole CF is a notable one (80 minutes gone in today's game, and he hasn't had a touch in Villa's box). He’s had a generationally good group of players all in their primes simultaneously. Now almost that entire core has aged poorly and the lack of squad refreshing is biting them badly. And tbh, I don’t think this will be a smooth, super quick fix by just spending a bunch of money. Getting players who are just as good as Walker, KDB, Gündogan, Mahrez, etc will be extremely difficult. They need 2 new starting fullbacks, 2 new starting wingers, at least 2 new midfielders, AND another forward. They need MAJOR surgery. Will Pep want to stick around for that? Laylabelle 9,535
He shouldve left after last year leaving on a high and all. We've been here before and it's horrible just waiting for the next win and all and going wooosh down the table. Never was a fan of Peppy but he stayed 4 years in Barcelona, 3 years in Bayern and 9 seasons at City. In today's football even 3 years can be considered remarkably long. I mean just look at Chelsea last 20 years. Edited December 21, 2024 by NikkiCFC Fernando

Thor 2,704
Its actually nuts seeing the table and noticing Spurs in 10th with the second best goal difference in the league. Has to be a record or something.
NikkiCFC 8,319
Once Rodri was out for a season I immediately said they will fight for CL place at best. 1 win in last 12. Edited December 21, 2024 by NikkiCFC

It's surely getting to a point where Pep's future is up for debate despite what he has won. Even during Mou's darkest days here, we never went through form as bad as this. What you talking about? We where worse with Mourinho. Pep still the best just a couple of upgrades on the summer and they should be good to go.

In 21/22 season they won title with 93 points and Gabriel Jesus was only striker and often on the bench or right side. A single player who isn’t even your main goal scorer or match winner missing shouldn’t be THIS catastrophic, though. Especially in a team as expensively assembled as City’s. I know he’s the heartbeat and engine of the team but still. LAM09
