Just imagine if Spuds finish above us. How unbearable that would be. Missing their talisman striker for half the season. Literally no recognized striker left on their roster. They were at one point 11(?) points behind us. A team in such turmoil that they sacked their manager, ffs.

Goddamn, that would be embarrassing.

And you just fucking know, without any doubt, Villa’s laughable defence will magically turn into the Milan of old when we play them.

Fuck off you mugs. Hope city batter you in the final.

It's not even that their defence will  be that great it will be we play crap. So many games just havent turned up for. Yeah other side have also played well but if keep shooting up into the air...

We've won 4 games in the last 13. Theres a reason we're in this postion

Its already embarrassing they are this close, can you imagine JM's smug face if that happens? Media and spurs fans would milk it all year. I hope FL and the boys are aware how crucial our games are now.

What's most annoying is that they aren't surging up the table by playing magical football and blowing everyone away. At least then you could say "fair play, Mourinho has really got them firing." But no, they're conceding goals left, right, and center. They look awful most of their games and their attacking play has looked like classic Mou from his Man United days where it looks like they don't even practice attacking moves. Their midfield has been dire at times and they seemingly never have settled fullbacks.

Yet due to our extreme inconsistency they're a hairs width behind us.

Son is top class, what a player he is.

Spurs breathing down our necks because we have just stumbled for months. We have ourselves to blame for this mess.

In the last 13 we've lost 6..won 4 and drawn 3.. so yep this is why in this postion.

That was pathetic on villa....spurs are so so jammy, refs helping, opposition going to sleep. I will fucking switch footy off if we lose out top4 to these cunts.

Top5 is the new top4.

For now anyway, but even then it only takes 2-3 fuck ups and we are out. What a mess we found ourselves in. Some said we shouldnt go amok cuz spurs beat city, but the reality is we are fucked. Our form has required us fans being worried no matter what our rivals are doing, we have been piss poor getting points on the board for what feels like an eternity.

Man City players won everything they could domestically. It is the Champions League that they strive to win and without competing in this competition, they could well and truly lose the motivation and ask to leave.

As long as the 2 year ban is upheld, here are the major players who are most likely to leave

IF Pep leaves most of these are even more likely to go

Sergio Agüero - 32 on June 2, one year left on contract, he would have to wait until he is 34 (and will be damn near 35 if the club he is with goes deep in the CL in 2022-23) to play in Europe again, I think he leaves. The downside is, this make Gabriel Jesus more likely to stay, whatever Pep does.

Leroy Sané - gone for sure no matter what more than likely

John Stones - I think he might want to leave, his contract expires in 2022, so this is the last summer they can get max cash unless he renews

Nicolás Otamendi - dogshit, who cares

Ilkay Gündogan - would have to wait until he is 32 to play in the CL again

Benjamin Mendy - may be put up for sale anyway, this not a clear one, under contract until 2023

Riyad Mahrez - age is key here, he is 29 in five days, so he would be 31-32 the next time he plays in the CL if he stays, contracted until 2023

Fernandinho - he is soon 35, so doesn't matter much, he stays I think, unless he wants to leave for a CL club who will play him a lot, which is a hard find

David Silva is gone anyway

that leaves the two monster questions

Kevin De Bruyne, who is under contract until 2023, but will be 31 by the time he would get to play in Europe again if he stays. Pep leaving would really make it more likely he asks to leave, as will others leaving.

Raheem Sterling - also under contract until 2023, he would turn 28 in December of the next season City would be Europe eligible. I have no clue what he will do, especially if Pep leaves.

the rest of the core:

Bernardo Silva, Kyle Walker (who will be 32 and nearing 33yo the next time City would be Europe-eligible), Ederson, Aymeric Laporte, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Rodri, Foden, João Cancelo are all locked up until 2024 or 2025, so unless they have clauses that allow them to leave if no CL, they will be in for much harder times to attempt to leave
