Not surprised about Ryan Taylor, decent squad player, not that hard to replace

As for Jonas, maybe this is a blessing in disguise, he is free to move wherever he wants

But the way he's been treated by Newcastle has been nothing short of embarrassing, even when he first discovered the cancer problem.

Newcastle are a disgusting club, pathetic owner, which is why this announcement doesn't surprise me

Imagine if they got relegated, they'd probably try and keep Jonas and Ryan at the club

Big shame that didn't happen!

A football team needs football players who are playing and performing. If he wasn't playing nor performing he can't stay in the club as a player, cancer or not.

As Reddish-Blue mentioned, can understand why they let Ryan Taylor go but Gutierrez? He has always been a reliable performer for Newcastle but got ignored off the pitch when he got the cancer and now discarded after helping them to stay up in the Premier League.

Why?

Too lazy to explain. Basically this...

http://www.espnfcasia.com/blog/espn-fc-united-blog/68/post/2444156/what-we-hated-from-the-2014-15-season

Contrast that to the cringe-worthy Steven Gerrard Farewell Tour that punctuated Liverpool's season the moment he decided to quit his boyhood club with half the season still to go.

And then it started; the "Get Gerrard to Wembley" hysteria and the utterly bemusing side note that his birthday was the same day as the FA Cup final.

What on earth a grown man's birthday had anything to do with football is anyone's guess.

There was genuinely a groundswell of opinion that Liverpool should reach the FA Cup final because Gerrard had his birthday on that date and it would have been his last game.

Thankfully, Tim Sherwood spoiled the party before it had started by wrecking Liverpool's FA Cup dreams, sparing the majority of us a sickly, sugary run-up to the FA Cup final.
