LDN Blue 7,903
I kind of feel sorry for Rio now too. He, technically, hasn't done anything wrong.

NattyBlue 44
I don't think Terry should be captain. Even though all that shit from last year appears to not actually be true, Capello stripped him and said Terry won't be captain again, so even if it's for the next game or the next 10 games Terry should never be given captaincy under Fabio Capello, if he wants to stay true to his word. That's my problem with it all is that Capello should just stick to his stupid monotone word and have Barry or anyone but Terry lead the team out. Is this reinstating of the captainship just for the 1 game or the forseeable future btw? That's what I don't get about all this Rio Ferdinand comments, in the last 20 England games he's probably played about 5 games anyway, injured fool. If him or Gerrard were fit there wouldn't be a problem anyway.
Gianfranco_Z 202
So I read in the bbc gossip column that Capello told Ferdinand that JT would just be a stand-in and that Rio still gets the armmband...What a mess of this he's making! LDN Blue 7,903
And he wonders why he fails to inspire the squad. (Crapello)
LDN Blue 7,903
Capello didn't understand the meaning of 'permanent' Apparently Capello used the word "permanent" out of term. Terry will be captain for only one game. According to ESPN anyway..
Kez 2,727
Capello is a fucking nob. He knows he made a mistake taking the armband off Terry and is using the injuries as an excuse. He will never admit he made a terrible decision taking it off him.ONE ENGLAND CAPTAIN.

Ollie 4,400
JT knows that he has a huge chance now. He will captain England against Wales and Ghana and if he has 2 awesome games and England do the business, he'll get his armband back. There's only ONE man that can captain England and that is John Terry and i believe it's going to happen. Nobody in that England team are exactly angels are they anyway. Fabio knows he fucked up stripping him for non football reasons and he knows that for the good of the team and the situation, he's the best man for the job. You have to make these conditions for the good of the team, surely. For FOOTBALL REASONS!!The last year has been a joke, the world cup was a joke and we all know why, so does Fabio. Time to make amends. Fuck what the media think, we need the right captain for England's football team and JT is the man. ChelseaChick 430
Terry should tell Capello where to stick his fucking armband! But he won't and he will be loyal to England even though most of the country hate him! Poor Rio....not!

BlueLion. 21,491
Dear John, Frank, and AshleyYou are three of the best players of your generation and some of the most-respected footballers in the world - but only outside of England. Lampard's goalscoring form has always been valued by the Italian and Spanish giants, Terry's defensive prowess has earned him European recognition and the fact Real wanted Cole shows his footballing status. But in England, you're treated like shit and without respect by all bar Chelsea supporters. So in other words, retire you old bastards. Fulham Broadway 17,363
Yup. it was public votes, so there are some objective observers out there, and not just wankers who have some misguided loyalty to his geordie racist ex.As far as JT is concerned, i've watched England for many years, and no one comes close to the sense of occasion and pride he has. from singing the National anthem to wearing the 3 lions. He has more pride in playing for England than Chelsea, -now whether that is misguided or not, is open to much debate -but the fact is, there is no better candidate to be captain of his country. Ollie 4,400
Even if it's one game, i'm really looking forward to see him lead England out against Wales. And what a game to do it, Wales, Millennium Stadium, Euro Qualifier, sweet. I really hope he gets named on a permanent basis. He's purely the ONLY man for the job. Laylabelle 9,539
Thing is if Rios out for the season then it makes sense..not to take anything from Lampard cause he can do the job but just think JT's a bit more vocal..Though be treated like utter shit but everyone poor guy.All that 'oh he thinks he's captain' after his yap in Africa..he was put as spokemens!! And Capello did what JT suggested anyway but nooo he was in the wrong for saying what most were thinking
