Josh McEachran says he prefers to stay at Middlesbrough until the end of the season

The 19-year-old said: “I’ve been at Chelsea since the age of seven and I’ve grown up there. It’s always been my dream to play regular first team football there.

“But at present, I’d like to stay here for the rest of the season. We’ve got a genuine chance of going up and I want to be part of it.

“There’s a long way to go this season and a lot could happen but we have a really good manager here and I like the way he wants to play.”

He is saying the right thing, may or may not be his true wish.

I would seriously consider recalling him in January, along with ST, CM is our most vulnerable position. We need reinforcement in that position one way or another.

btw Boro game will be televised tomorrow, a rare opportunity to watch him play.

yes we need reinforcements and KDB would be more logical choice but again he also is doing very well at Bremen.Regular football can do amazing things

Recalling him is out of the question, he is not ready yet. Besides, he's helped Boro be in a good position to go up this season and it would be unfair to deny the opportunity to be there when it happens.

He looked rather tired in the first half but has been by far the best player on the pitch in the second so far, creating everything for Boro.
